"Of course, of course. Half the fun in growing them is to see them used after all," she said, in a congenial but slightly distracted tone. "And I'm sure all the Healrs know how to harvest the herbs without harming the plant more than is absolutely necessary, and that's all I really care about.." She trailed off as half of her mind was deciding which plants to put where, but the Dean was still talking so she forced herself to pay attention.

"Oh, sure...right," she said, maybe a little dissapointed, but in truth she knew that she would be grateful to the Dean later for showing her around, and if she could meet some of her fellow Healers on the way...especially that Sotrmwind, it would be all to the good. She glided out into the hall, and looked around, fascinated by what she saw. The Collegium was bigger than she expected. Of course it would take a while to get used to living inside all the time, but once she had had her way with her workroom, she'd hardly be able to tell. And there was always Companion's Feild. She'd heard there was some fascinating forest there that the Valdemarans considered somewhat holy. Maybe they'd let her have a look.....magical forests often contained interesting plants...

With a smile, the Dean led Treespirit to the library, pointing out the different classrooms and offices of note on the way. Once there, it was clear that it was very small, but the room was quiet and the handful of trainees and full Healers in there were making excellent use of its supplies. Marianne looked at Treespirit as she said softly, "Books aren't permitted to be removed from the library, so you'll find both student and full Healers in here quite often. It closes at the lights-out bell every day, although as an instructor and full Healer you can speak to me if ever you need to be in there at a later hour."

The woman looked around, seeing if there was anyone of note that she should introduce Treespirit too, crossing mental fingers but figuring if there wasn't anyone then she could leave the new instructor to her own devices - she was clearly itching to return to her new work room and make it her own. Marianne had felt the same way when she became Dean, after all, so she knew what it was like.

Treespirit nodded. Truthfully, though she would admit that books had their uses, she prefers to learn things hands on. Still it was nice to know that there was a library. She wasn't as familiar with Vademaran plants as she was with the plants of the Pelagiris, so though she probably wouldn't hang out at at the library, she might have to look something up.

"Oh," she said, a little dissapointed. If she was going to read, she'd rather do so in her own room. The room was a bit small for her liking..and quiet. Treespirit actually didn't like too mcuh quiet. "Do Healers spend much time in here?" she queried, more to dispel the silence than anything else, though she spoke softly.

Marianne nodded as well, still looking around. "You'll find small groups or pairs in here periodically. Quite often they're just talking. Another good place to find your peers is in their offices and workrooms, we seem to spend an inordinate amount of time 'living' in our little areas. The House of Healing is usually busy, but it's not the place to go if you want to talk, unless you feel like keeping patients company - which wouldn't be a bad thing if you're inclined that way." The Dean considered a bit, then added, "Healer Ferwlla is usually out at the Salle, with the Weaponsmistress. They're a bonded pair, which makes for an interesting trio - Companion, Weaponsmistress, and Kyree."

What else should Treespirit know? Hmmm. "Anything else you'd like to know? You can get a page to show you to the dining hall and kitchen whenever you're hungry, of course."

Stormwind was standing over a table referencing a large book that lay open to a detailed illustration of the inner workings of a bird's wing. The robes he currently wore were a melding of multiple green shades which he had formed the habit of dawning while helping in the House of Healing or teaching the healer fledglings. His hair was pulled into a number of braids and knots on one side keeping it out of his face then hung loose on the other though there wasn't anything braided into the mix and by Tayledras standards he looked rather plain. Holding back his sleeve with one hand he pointed with the other at something in the illustration running his finger down the page apparently pointing out something important to the young mint who sat in a chair at his side.

The girl had a modest look about her and was obviously one of the older students nearing the completion of her studies. Looking up at Storm she nodded adding another comment then as she turned to look back at the page she caught the sight of Dean Maria standing beside - a Tayledras woman? Noting the distracted look on his student's face he straightened and turn looking in the same direction to see Treespirit standing beside the Healer Dean. Seeing another Tayledras was probably the last thing Storm would have imagined and he blinked staring a bit puzzled by the sight though he quickly caught himself clearing his throat turning back to the book on the table. A slight giggle emanated from Kimmi as she hadn't missing the stunned expression of her mentor.

It was the small sound of a throat clearing that alerted Treespirit to Stormwind's presence. "Oh look, just the person I have been hoping to meet," she said, almost squealing girlishly with delight. Stormwind was just as handsome as she had hoped, though dressed a bit plainly..well men were that way sometimes. So, with a flip of hr hair, she glided over to the table where the other Tayledras and what she assumed was one of his students, was standing.

"Healer Stormwind," she practically gusehd. "I am Treespirit K'Shira, the new teacher of Herbalism. I'm simply *delighted* to meet you. Dean Marianne told me you were here and I was so glad to know that I would not be alone in this new land. I'm sure we'll be able to get to know eachother." She wasn't exactly flirting...not yet. But she clearly thought him handsome, and wasn't the type to make a secret of it.

Marianne couldn't help but be surprised, and then mentally winced at Treespirit's words. Well... at least there'd be no problems introducing her, but she had a feeling this just wasn't going to go as well. That, from what she'd seen and been told of Stormwind, just wasn't the way to do it. Her expression was apologetic as she looked at the man from behind the over-eager herbalist, "It looks like I don't need to introduce you two... And she's quite new, Treespirit arrived just today." Well, this sort of thing happened - people weren't always going to mesh well personality-wise, no matter what she'd like. And she might be surprised. She'd like to be surprised.

Somehow, the Dean thought, I don't think I'm going to be surprised.

Leaning a hand once again on the table looming over the book he looked up at Kimmi and knew by the look on her face that the woman had noticed him. Taking a deep breath the sudden squealing voice behind him almost made him jump and he heard his student choke back what he could only guess was a laugh. Standing and turning to the voice slowly he gathered up all he could to try to seem pleasant - it didn't work too well. His eyebrow raised slightly and his lips quirked before he could keep them from doing so.

"Ah yes, a pleasure..." He cleared his throat again. "and I - look forward to working together." He gave a moderate bow of respect after he spoke. Whether or not his last words were in a tone to be found believable he couldn't bring himself to worry too much about though maybe he was jumping to conclusions. He reminded himself he was trying to be less rude to strangers - funny though this woman was of his own people and had caused the most unsettling reaction out of him that he'd had in a while.

Treespirit seemed not to notice, or was perhaps used to, the less than glowing reception that she recieved. "No, the pleasure is *all* mine. I am, after all, am the newcomer here. What subject is it that you teach? Perhaps we might combine our skills, I would soooo enjoy working with you.," she said, in a manner that left some doubt about how much actual *work* she really wanted to do with him.

Briefly, she turned her attention to Kimmi, her fickle attentions wandering from romance to teaching, "And who are you young lady? A student here? Are you interested in herbalism? Plants are *fascinating* don't you think?"

The corner of Storm's eye twitched as he took a step back when the woman turned toward Kimmi. Glancing over at Dean Marianne he didn't miss the apologetic look on her face. He only tilted his head and raised an eyebrow in response. He had gotten along with the Dean and never had any problem talking to her though he didn't do so very often.

Kimmi on the other hand was biting her lip amused by the scene until the woman started to speak to her. In a sort of half panic the shy trainee glanced over at the nearest time candle and stood without warning.

"Mmm, I have to get my books for next class. Tokast, Master Stormwind - Zhai'helleva." With that she picked up her pile of books brushing a bit of her hair behind her ear and made her way to the doors.

Marianne, for the first time in several years, was flabbergasted. And at the same time, she wanted to start laughing. Oh my. Wasn't this... interesting. Interesting being a mild term. However, she was now feeling obliged to help the poor man, given that he clearly wanted very little to do with Treespirit for now, and she didn't want to abandon Stormwind to the young woman just yet - especially now that shy little Kimmi had run away.

"Stormwind, if you have some time, I need someone to look over a few sections of the beginner's textbook. I already needed to have Ferwlla make some corrections. As well, Treespirit arrived with some gryphons." She didn't specify beyond that, not certain that Stormwind would want the new herbalist to know more details than necessary. She was, however, certain that there was a problem about the care of gryphons in the brief section for would-be non-human healers, and suspected that the new arrivals would need his services. "Take care, Treespirit, I'm always in my office if you need me."

"Oh," Treespirit said, with a blink, clearly surpised. But she only faltered for a moment.
"Oh yes, Stormwind, gryphons really are *wonderful* creatures. They were so gracious to carry me and my precious plants here. And now I've met you, what wonderful luck I have! But you go on with your work, I'm sure we'll have plenty of time to talk later. After all, I'll be here every day. I'm sure we'll have a *close* working relationship."
And then, with one last fond glance, she glided away, intent on retrieving Sophos and getting down to work.
