(or Good guys that seek to stop them...)
Shade stalked to and fro in his cell, his knotwork searing...
Why in the fuck am I still rotting in this hell hole? he asked himself, his thought wandering far outside the walls of the prison. He could feel the call of his lady, but could not quite reach her...
"For Sangmort..." he breathed through the walls of the institution, rousing his compatriots. It was time...
Slowly, Lupus' form warped into that of the guard that usually watched his cell. "Help! Someone! Shade has escaped!" he cried out, his acting impressing even himself.
As the cell door slammed open and guards poured in, Shade grinned maniacally, his form snapping back to his own.
His wand may be in holding, but his powers came from within. A deafening roar ripped from his lungs as his entire body wretched, becoming more bestial and feral by the moment. The roar gave way to a cackle as his fury was complete, his teeth tearing through the flesh of one guard's throat as his claws caught both of the others by the jaw, slamming them against the wall behind them, leaving them in a lifeless heap as they slid to the ground with displaced spinal arrangements...
His deft motions carried him swiftly through the corridors to the holding room. He did not take the time to sift through the lot, rather he grabbed all of the wands available and took off through the cell blocks, throwing every switch...

As Shade darted through the wings of the prison, the entirety of the guard staff was alerted. This was getting out of hand... Luckily, they did not have his actual information, and he was listed in their systems as one Gabriel McCullough. He never did understand why the "Good guys" always seemed to have an aversion to using nasty methods, such as curses, but they refused to even try occlumency. Not even a drop of Veritaserum. "Amateurs" he breathed as he rounded a corner, now facing three mud-blooded guards. He caught his wand from the bundle and waved it haphazardly, sending the men skittering across the floor in contorted masses as the Cruciatus Curse set in.
A sickening howl tore through the halls as Shade stashed the wands in his robes before they melded into his body as his form contorted to his other half. Now it was just a matter of sniffing out the proper direction.
Left his mind screamed, but his body heeded it not. the scent to fresh air took him right. Fucking illusory charms... he thought as the sight of nearly a dozen guards came into view down the hall, among which were several of his old 'brethren'. With a little joy in the retributive aspect of it, Shade leapt, sinking his teeth into the first, his jaw effectively pinching of the head, before eviscerating the rest in a matter of moments...

Roxy had been in her office at the Ministry. It was late, but home wasn't welcoming and she had a lot of paperwork to get through. She was pushing for harsher methods in Azkaban... Just thinking of that dreadful place sent a shiver down her spine, and she glanced at the small bowl on the corner of her desk. She rarely looked at it: it provided a window to the guard's office in Azkaban, like a Pensieve shows the past. However, this one had been modified to show the present. It was a new way for the Aurors to be informed of a problem at the prison.
Roxy gasped. The guard had obviously been trying to run in and tell her what had happened, but hadn't made it on time. His neck was gouged open, blood poured down his chest, and his lifeless eyes glared at her from the floor thousands of miles away. Roxy stood quickly, quashing down the bile in her throat, and yelled 'Breakout in Azkaban' to anyone in the vicinity. Then she disapparated. She reappeared seconds later in the guard's office. Determined to remain calm, she clenched her already drawn wand and tried not to look at the dead man. She muttered a few words her mentor had taught her, to form a shield around her, like a sort of force field. The man looked like he had been attacked by an animal, and she was determined not to meet the same fate. However, the shield took a lot of magic to work, and so she couldn't hold it for long.
Cautiously, she stepped outside. The corridor was empty. The Dementors' chill set into her bones, but she had visited many times before and had coached herself to not give into the despair. She walked slowly to the end of the corrider, glancing behind herself often. At the end of the corridor she came to a wide hall. At the opposite end, around 20 metres away, a bestial-like man was in the process of disembowling a few guards. Roxy quickly stepped back behind the wall, hidden from the prisoner's view. She pointed her wand quickly around the corner, glanced quickly to ensure her aim was accurate and muttered: 'Incarcerous! Stupefy!', praying that one spell would find its mark.

Derwin walked slowly down the hallway of Azkaban. It was nowhere as bad as so many people made it out to be. Of course, the Dementors did not have the same chilling effect on him as they did on humans. As far as he was concerned, they just smelled horrible. Which meant it was probably hell on earth for the guy he was going to visit.
David Markinson. He had been a vampire for about sixty years longer than Derwin, and as such, Derwin showed him respect. That and the fact that he had been living in this garbage pit for the past 247 years. Which also meant that he only had three years left on his sentence. Derwin walked up to the cell and smiled, letting his fangs show, as vampires did to each other. They talked, keeping their voices at a level that was unintelligible to human ears. Derwin had brought a few things. First, was a blood-scented candle that helped to remove the smell of the Dementors. Second, was a barrel full of blood and a small amount of an anti-coagulant. It was enough to last David another three months. At that time, Derwin, or another one of the ten or so vampires in London that knew of David being there and liked him would bring another barrel.
David was unique in that he accepted his punishment. After all, 250 years was not that long, and as far as David was concerned, it was a chance to catch up on some reading. Every week, somebody brought him about sixty pounds worth of books, and David read it all. It was the only way he knew anything about technology. Still, after 250 years, it would take some time to readjust.
They talked until they were suddenly interrupted by a loud howl alerting everybody to a prisoner escape. Derwin stood up and said "And that, unfortunately, ends our conversation. I must get going." He moved quickly down the hall, the guard no longer concerned with him but rather with catching the escaped prisoner. Derwin was a little angry that he had left most of his weapons in a locker in the lobby, but he had a rule. Always keep two of everything on you. One for them to find, and one for you. He turned into an abandoned hallway and reached down his pants, pulling a pair of handguns from his crotch area. Then he slid a panel off the bottom of his boot and pulled out a knife. Placing both guns at the base of his back, he slid the knife up his shirtsleeve and began walking towards the exit. Unfortunately, the long-term cells, for those non-humans that were imprisoned in Azkaban were near the top of the complex. As such, it meant either an elevator ride, or stairs. And because of the situation, he needed to take the stairs.
Thankfully, he had his visitor's pass on, and so he began walking down the stairs. After a few floors, one of the guards that was running up took him for the escapee, ignoring the visitor's pass. Derwin saw the look in the guard's eyes a moment before the stupefy spell went flying his way. He took it straight in the chest and went flying back up the stairs. He lay there a moment, hoping the guard would take a closer look. He did, and as he bent over, he took Derwin's fist in his forehead, knocking him completely unconscious. A shout alerted him to the other guard a floor down. Derwin ducked, avoiding a spell, and burst through a door on some different floor.
Derwin had no intention of getting sent here himself, so using his weapons was completely out of the question. He moved quickly, deliberately, choosing to conserve his energy rather than use his vampire powers, Derwin didn't pull any of the Hollywood antics associated with vampires. Instead, he moved rapidly down the corridor, until he got to a door. He paused, a listened. He could hear the sound of flesh being torn apart from the other side. In unfortunately looked as though he were going to get into a fight anyway.
He heard the words and ducked just in time. "Confringo!" Had he not ducked there might have been pieces of himself in the corridor. Instead, there were pieces of the door behind him. Another stupefy spell sent him flying through the doorway on his back. He slid along the ground about forty feet before slamming into the wall behind him. This is fantastic. All I wanted to do was visit a friend, and some dipshit decides to escape.
As Derwin stood up, he saw a pair of spells heading towards the source of the growling and tearing of flesh, a werewolf. Unfortunately, a familiar werewolf. Then he looked at the source of the spell. It was Roxy, his date for the tomorrow night. Crap, I just get up after taking a stupefy spell in the chest. Hopefully, she didn't see me get hit. As that thought crossed his mind, another spell, this one a binding spell came flying at him. He pulled a little Matrix move and the spell wrapped itself around the pillar behind him.
There were three ways out. The way he came, past Roxy, or past the werewolf. Which way to go...

As the last guard was nearly rendered in half by a mighty sweep of his claw, a stupefy spell hit him squarely between the shoulders, a force strong enough to knock any man to his knees...
But he was no man, was he? Instead, it spun him, blurring his vision slightly, to face a familiar scent, or rather two...
Derwin Ward and Roxy Jones... How sweet that the two of them were here together to share this moment... Shade was always one for sentiment...
Shade darted around a corner, retaking his human form. As his bestial traits receded, he donned the appearance of one of the guards he had left unrecognizable and unidentifiable. His hair length and color, as well as eye color was flawless. His nose bridge sharpened, and his brow protruded brutishly. Once his jaw squared off, and his robes warped into those of a low ranking guard, he was done.
He shuddered as he pictured his new appearance... I hate disguising myself as a mudblood... he thought to himself...
Once his appearance was set, he took half a moment to gather his thoughts and get into character before darting after the "Escapee" he was chasing...
