Chapter 19

That night, as Piper lie in her room, Nigel decided to pay her a visit.
“Piper,” he whispered at her; her eyes remaining closed.
“Go away.”
“We have to talk!”
“Why?” she opened her eyes and stared him sleepily.
“You know why.” He grabbed her legs and threw them over the edge of the bed, then sat where they use to be. She groaned and willingly sat up, glaring at him the entire time.
“I hate you,” she whined.
“I know, love, but we have other matters to tend to that’ll make you hate me more.” She groaned some more and fiddled with her nails.
“He’s falling in love with you. He’s only supposed to trust you.”
“Well sometimes trust requires love, you hoof. Your of the greater powers, you should know that by now.”
“We know that. That’s the only reason we haven’t intervened yet. But there’s a point at which we cant fix things,’ he said.
“Ok, I’m afraid you lost me on the ‘tings’ part.”
“Piper,” he sighed. “After he helps you, we have to erase his and anyone else who may have met you’s memory. They can’t remember you or people will think you faked your death. You, however, will move on with full mind of what’s happened.”
She blinked at him, as he almost seemed to have tears in his own eyes.
“But if Dan falls in love, we can’t erase that. We can’t erase the memory of love, its too powerful.”
“So, your saying you can’t reverse love?” she whispered, staring at the floor.
“Exactly.”
She nodded in acknowledgement, even though she hadn’t quite taken it all in.
“Piper, I know your falling for him too, and that just makes it worse.”
She continued to stare at the same spot the floor.
“At one point your going to move on. Then what’s Dan suppose to do without you.”
She didn’t reply.
“I know you think ‘move on’ but its not that easy. Just please try and stay distant from him. It’s for the best.
“I can’t.”
“You have to.”

*
I could still remember the first time I met Christian. I’d just moved to London from the United States, and didn’t know anyone. My first day of school in the seventh grade, I met a girl my age, who went by Tori, short for Victoria.
She greeted me with open arms, which even I knew was hard to come by.
From the first day we became best friends. She constantly stayed at my house. Then one evening she invited me to stay with her; that’s when I first met him. He was he older, very hot brother. Naturally, I gained a crush on him, which gradually lessened as I matured. But in my tenth grade year, things took a dramatic change, both for the best and worst.
During lunch, one day, I was called to the principal’s office. When I arrived I instantly noticed my parents, my heart sunk. I was beckoned to take a seat. Apparently my teachers felt I was beyond my years and wasn’t learning much. So they gave me a test and moved me to the 12th grade.
Tori was pissed and began ignoring me; in the process she also began to rebel, becoming her parent’s worst nightmare for a child. She dressed in all black, dyed her once beautiful brown hair, bleach blonde and gave it pink highlights, and eventually got her eyebrow pierced. Now, she was threatening to get a tattoo, which was strictly against the family’s religion.
I really hated seeing her like this and tried confronting her, but only to receive obscence remarks and gestures.
Since she was my only friend, I had to try and find someone new to hang with. Her brother was unnaturally nice to me about being a genius and even offered to help by saying I could hang with him and his crew, but I wasn’t really keen on being friends with the preps. Plus, a majority of them despised me anyway.
About a month after my solitary confinement began, a new guy arrived. He was Australian, containing a strong and sometimes hard to understand accent, and rather a nutter. At first people greeted him and found his humor funny, probably because they couldn’t understand him, but gradually they became rather tired of his pyschoticness, and began ignoring him. I, however, found him hilarious.
His birth name was Julius Nathaniel Marc, but he usually went by his last name. He had blonde spiky hair, deep blue eyes, and semi pointy ears, which he constantly said made him an elf; in other words, he was gorgeous. If it weren’t for his annoyingness, he probably would have had tons of girls all over him. I think I was the only person who actually enjoyed his company rather than shunned it. We didn’t become friends as fast as Tori and I, though; most likely because I was afraid of being hurt again, that is, until her reassured me he’d never do that.
Though we were close friends, even he didn’t know I was kidnapped. I’d told him I thought someone would try, but he didn’t believe me. He figured they’d go for someone weaker, someone without a black belt in Tae Kwan Do. Yet, this didn’t prevent him from cracking jokes about how I wished Christian would kidnap me, which now that I think about it, wasn’t very funny at all.
During the time I was captured, I knew no one would find me. Marc didn’t believe me, Tori was at reform school (supposedly) and Christian’s parents were in the US conducting work of some kind. So, it would only be Chris, his dog Maggie, and myself. This really wasn’t very comforting, but was I going to do? Complain? It wouldn’t have saved me, nothing would have. Not even Nigel.

Chapter 20

It’s my life
It’s now or never
But I ain’t going to live forever
I just want to live while I’m alive
Its’ my life

“That song holds serious irony in it for me now,” Piper sighed, while turning off the TV; Dan raised an eyebrow at her.
“Damn,’ he mumbled after glancing at his watch. “I’ve got to go. I was suppose to be at work a half hour ago.” He got up from the couch, kissed her on the forehead, and headed out the door.
“Speaking of irony, Dan, I’m dead,” she sarcastically replied to the now empty room. “The one time I get the courage to tell him and you blow it,” she narrowed her eyes at the ceiling.
“I’ll get you my pretty, and your little dog too. Well, um, if you have a dog.”

*
After dropping Dan off at a hotel, Piper headed back to her body to see if Christian had returned yet. When she got there, she found her body was still alone and untouched. She couldn’t believe he wasn’t back yet, but instead of throwing a fit she just took a seat back in the corner that she’d left not too long ago. Around an hour later, the front door opened, and who other than Chris stepped in.
“It’s about time, you bastard. I’m starting to stink,” she whispered, but he didn’t hear her, let alone see her. She quietly watched as the color drained from his face as his eyes scanned her dead body. Piper could hear his breathing rapidly increase as he leaned down and checked for a pulse. He stood up and ran his fingers through his hair, and began looking around. He had to do something with her body, but what? Its not like he could bury her and it would go unnoticed. He could feel himself begin to unnerve, begin to panic, but instead of running from the problem like he usually would, he started to do something most guys would rather die than doing; cry.

*
Dan ran into the studio, completely out of breath. He quickly changed and got his make up on, then headed down to the set, where Rupert was waiting for him.
“Dan, my man! Guess one time early means your doomed to be late forever, eh?” Rupert smirked. “Not that I could blame you. I mean, especially if you were with ‘the girl’ all weekend.”
Dan glared at him.
“What makes you think that?”
“Mate, I've called you at least fifty times, and you haven’t answered once. Your never like that unless your distracted.”
Dan continued to narrow his eyes as Chris walked over.
“Look, boys, we’re a bit behind at the moment, so if you want, you can go wait in your rooms and we’ll page you down when we’ve caught up.” The boys nodded and he walked off.
“So,” Rupert started up again. “Where were you last night?”
“Home.”
“Whose home?”
“Piper’s why?”
“Ahh, I knew it. I knew it.”
“Knew what?’
“You’re a horny little blighter, aren’t you?”
Dan rolled his eyes and walked off towards the snack room. Rupert nagged him all the way into the room, following him as he sat down on a huge black couch and grabbed a nearby newspaper, and began reading through it.
“What did happen? Dan? Dan?!” Rupert waved his hand in front of his friend’s face, but he continued to stare dumbfound at the paper. Rupert leaned in to see what was so interesting.
“Dan, what the hell are you looking…oh God.”

*
Chris panicked/cried for probably an hour before he started trying to decide what to do with me. He’d already dismissed burying me in the back yard, or chucking me back into the basement then calling the police saying he’d found me like that, not knowing how I’d gotten in. So, he ended packing me into the back of his truck, drove me into the middle of nowhere, and then dumped me into a well-hidden creek. It was rather interesting to watch, I must say. He wasn’t very clean with his work. Could’ve left less evidence behind, but that’s just my opinion. I mean seriously, who kisses their victims goodbye? Now all I have to do is wait for someone to find me, I guess.
