A fantastic start for the reserves, Tom Killifin took his hat trick well, plenty for Fozzy to be pleased with!

Here are a small handful of photos from the game:

Match Report from the game against Bamber Bridge Res

Kendal Town Res 3-3 Bamber Bridge Res

Kendal Town Reserves held out a 3-3 draw against the league leaders at the Cosyseal Stadium in an excellent performance.

A few chances in the first 10 minutes but Bamber Bridge took the lead on 11 minutes when Matt Shaw played Leon McCoughlin onside and he slotted it past Dixon.

Shots for Tucker, McGahon, Sawicki and Reid all miss the target.

Kendal levelled on 21 minutes when a corner taken by Reid reaches the head of Tim Baines and into the top corner of the net.

Bamber Bridge then took the lead on 24 minutes when that man Leon McCoughlin struck from 20 yards and past Dixon.

Chances for both sides but none of them managed to hit the back of the net.

Goal scorer Tim Baines was replaced by Nathan Turner at the start of the second half.

After the half time break neither team managed to get going but after an inspired substitution by manager Foster saw Nathan Reid being replaced by Sean McElhone who put an unstoppable shot from 25 yards past the Bamber Bridge keeper for 2-2.

So many free headers given to Bamber Bridge by the Kendal defence but the opposition couldn’t capitalise on Kendal’s mistakes.

Kendal took the lead on 71 minutes when Jason Tucker got the better of former 1st team on loan player Gavin Clark and passes the ball to Billy Akrigg on the edge of the area and he put the ball neatly past the Bamber Bridge keeper.

Christian Sawicki was then replaced by Cory Robinson on 74 minutes.
Bamber Bridge equalized on 76 minutes when Chris Scott wasn’t spotted running in at the near post and was gifted a free header and put it past Dixon.

1) Stu Dixon 2) Rylen Knowles 3) Ben Ashcroft 4) Tim Baines (rep Nathan Turner 45 mins) 5) Matt Shaw 6) Billy Akrigg 7)Christian Sawicki (rep Cory Robinson 74 mins) 8) Danny McGahon © 9) Jason Tucker 10) Sam Lightfoot 11) Nathan Reid (rep Sean McElhone 57 mins)

Subs not used: Cameron Khan, David Foster

Kendal Town Res: Tim Baines 21, Sean McElhone 57, Billy Akrigg 71

Bamber Bridge Res: Leon McCoughlin 11, 24, Chris Scott 76

Looking at the date of the challenge cup tie, it clashes with Kendals 1st team home game with North Ferriby Utd, so i suspect the reserve fixture will be arranged to another date!
