Sophia made her way into the Great Hall and tried to find a seat to herself. She needed to finish up some reading and the morning rush in the common room was not helping her. Vladimir had left to practice in the Musicary room for the holidays and she would meet up with him later. For now, she just wanted a place to sit and read and finally found one at the end of a table. Settling down with something to drink, Sophia took out her text and began reading on it, completely unaware of what any of the others were doing.

Evelien walked towards the Flinders table in the Great Hall, one of her notebooks tucked under her arm as she went. She smiled, seeing Sophia at the end of one table; still, she decided not to sit with her since the girl seemed rather preoccupied at the moment. She found a seat a few chairs away from her, and sat down. She put her notebook on the table, flipped it open to the part she'd been reading and rereading the night before, and tried to focus on the notes she'd taken down. She'd been a little distracted last night, and that morning she had to pay the price, undoubtedly.

She noticed something wrong with something she'd written down, and tried to make out where the mistake started from. She was too engrossed in what she was doing that she really didn't take much notice of anything else that was going on around her.

Beatrice was proud that, for that morning at least, she was able to get up early and show up at the Great Hall at a good time. She already brought her bookbag with her (she just didn't trust herself to walk back to the common room to get it fast enough after breakfast) and was walking towards her house table. She looked for a familiar face, saw both Sophia and Evelien (who both seemed similarly busy and preoccupied with what they were doing) and decided that maybe she should sit on her own for a while. She took a seat across from the latter, set her bookbag down on the floor by the chair, and drummed her fingers on the table. Somehow she felt something big was going to happen, though she couldn't tell exactly what.

Will had been sitting at his own house table since Percy knows when. He didn't mean to exaggerate of course, but he had been sitting there for a long time. He needed a different place to stay during the early mornings, especially since some ickle firstie had gone and fallen asleep on the couch. He was quite lucky a certain nutcase hadn't gotten to him while he was sleeping and drawn on his face. Yes, Will considered him quite lucky indeed, and so left the poor boy to his sleep instead of keeping him company there.

He picked the Great Hall, since he had to get breakfast in a while anyway, and he lost track of time when he was out on the grounds. This was the best alternative, at least to him; he had no idea that it may soon turn out to be the worst.

Storm usually was not in the Great Hall this hour. Actually, if she had snuck out with Jake the night before, Storm was not wanting to wake up at this hour or any of the next two or three but Jake had no choice but to work on an assignment last night and she had not been able to see him so catching up on sleep had been the order of business resulting in her being wide awake and hungry. So she made her way to the great hall and looked around to see if anyone she knew was there. Spotting Beatrice, she made her way over and as she sat across asked, "Hope its okay if I join you." With a grin adding. "And we can even talk without having to listen to professors" It felt like it was going to be an exciting day to Storm though she didn't know why. Just so much pent up energy after sleeping so solidly maybe?

Paige made her way down from the Flinders rooms and out of Kookynie enjoying the warmth the summer was bringing. She was looking forward to the hols coming up and getting to spend more time with Adam. He'd been studying extra for his finals and graduation so they could not see each other as much as they would have liked. He sent a message the night before saying he'd meet her at breakfast so she was smiling as she entered the hall knowing he'd be coming in a while. Spotting Sophia, Paige went over and joined her, exchanging greetings before settling down with a book of her own.

Rowan had slept well the night before and woke up early and hungry. She still had some homework to go over before class and decided to make her way to the Great Hall after checking in on her sleeping daughter. Leaving Améa a note as to where she had gone, she let her sleep since Améa's classes were all later in the morning and she would wake her later. For now, let the girl enjoy what sleep she could. Making her way from her building to Gawler, Rowan enjoyed the warmth that signaled the arrival of summer though she still could not equate it with the coming holidays. Once in the Great Hall, she greeted some of the familiar students -- Sophia, Paige, Beatrice and the others and made her way to the table for professors, the only one there so far. Finding some coffee and a quiet corner at the table, She sipped her drink and began grading papers looking up every so often to make sure all was still 'normal' -- at least as normal as having large groups of students in one room could be.

Gwen was physced. It wasn’t really to do with the new episode of Supernatural on that night, although that did improve Gwen’s move. It all had to do with what was about to happen, what was about to be unleashed into the Great Hall. P-Day was on it’s way, Prank Day had arrived and the excitement that radiated from Gwen was lethal, causing giggling outbreaks everywhere Gwen went. No one knew why she was so happy, just that she was.

Previously, Gwen had introduced herself to people like crazy, trying to find out everyone in the school. She’d talked to everyone she knew and then people she didn’t, brainstormed her mind for people in her classes and who was with who and who hated who. It was confusing, but, in the end, it was worth it. Even the pain of writing many, many ‘Gotcha!’ letters didn’t even put a dent in how much it was going to be worth it. So many letters, so many words. She’d written letters to teachers for kicks, as well.

Gwen was happy.

Gwen was waiting for Kat though, for her to do a charm to seal up the Hall when the pooping began, thanks to Gwen’s pet laxative. Gwen was itching for the pranks to happen but, at the same time, dreading them. What if it all went wrong?

No, don’t even think about that. You’ve overworked me for it to go wrong.

Gwen took a breath and checked her hidden stash of fireworks under the table. They’d only need to be hidden for a little bit, until the chaos of the birds started to work. Then, she’d kick them out and light them with a simple charm. Chaos would reign. Gwen was really happy. Oh, she was evil, so very, very, evil…

Seeing Kat, or at least she thought she saw Kat, she ran up to her, a touch breathless. “You ready?”

Kaitlyn was having a mediocre day so far. Well, a mediocre week. Some random chick with bright hair, the same one in her transfiguration class and a couple of others had randomly started talking to her. Kaitlyn had splurged a little about the people she had met, the Torianna kid and the Beatrice girl as well as a couple of others, but not much. The girl seemed like she was permanently on happy gas. Weirdo.

As Kaitlyn sat down in the hall, she cast her eye around. She was glad she was far away from that Gwen chick, that would just be weird if she were too close. The girl would probably surgically attach herself and her annoying happy gas addiction onto her. Kaitlyn didn’t want her around her like that. She didn’t need that kind of adoring person trying to cling to her. Eugh!

Grabbing her phone, Kaitlyn checked for messages. Seeing a few, she began to text, unaware of the impending doom her phone was going to face.

Faith was far from being bubbly as she walked into the Great Hall on Monday morning, ready for some breakfast. She was actually kind of depressed. There was never anything happening at the school. Sure, whenever something did happen, it usually wasn’t all that good or fun, but the point remained, nothing happened!

It wasn’t that Faith wanted a lot of drama, because that got annoying, it was that she wanted some sign that the world of Tallygarunga was still partly alive and hadn’t been taken over by zombies!! Okay, perhaps Faith shouldn’t have watched the latest from Resident Evil, but, the point remained. Tallygarunga had turned into a pile of boring nothing lately!

Now, Faith wasn’t one to be swept into a mania by the latest craze or tabloid story, but if that’s what if came to, fine! She just wanted a tad bit of life in the school rather than the same boring routine over and over again! If it meant picking a fight with Will intentionally, well… that was a last resort. Even Faith, at her worst of times, didn’t have that big a death wish!

Faith was sure to sit down at least ten metres away from Will and not look in his direction. She was also sure that she would not approach him, or look him in the eye, or aggravate him, as one would a bear. She was also sure she would not have the usual, honey toast, today, because, after all, bears liked honey and Faith was likening Will to a bear. To have honey would be a fatal mistake on her part.

A very fatal mistake.

Grabbing her small book from her pocket, Faith began to read, waiting for something exciting to happen half heartedly. As if anything would actually happen at Tallygarunga!

Gwen flushed as the girl she approached and practically leaped upon with words and happiness stared at her. She was quite obviously not Kat.

"Ah. Sorry. I mistook you for someone I know." Gwen gave the girl a smile and backed away. The girl simply looked at her like she had come from the planet Pluto. Which really wasn't classed as a planet since the discovery of Eris. At least, that's what Gwen thought. Astronomy wasn't really her strong point.

Gwen looked around for Kat. There was simply no time left to wait for her so she could perform the sealing charm. Already, the owls were starting to dip their wings and fly into the Great Hall. Gwen knew it would be only a matter of minutes before chaos literally began to fly. She had timed it perfectly.

Except she couldn't find Kat, a major flaw in the plan of the prank. What if Kat wasn't there? What if the charm wasn't performed? She didn't know the charm herself, so how could Gwen possibly keep the crowd in the Great Hall. It really couldn't be expected of her.

The prank began as the first owl decided it's bladder simply could not wait, letting it's load fly down onto a student. Gwen was taken by the silence that seemed to fall over the hall, and rapt at the way the prank was unfolding in an almost spectacular fashion.

Plop! Another owl bomb delivered and the owl bombs came down like rain. Gwen loved pet laxatives. They made her life so much brighter... or whiter, which ever.

As chaos unfolded, Gwen dashed for the Spencer table again and positioned her box carefully so it was at the same time, showing as little as possible, but the fireworks would be as clear as possible for launch. Pointing her wand down to the box, Gwen whispered one word:

"Flamora."

With a fizzle, pop and crack, the box of fireworks went off, colourful fireworks of magical animals and leprechauns springing up into the air. Gwen watched the pretty colours unleash yet more chaos into the world. If this wasn't the best prank yet, she could be called Fred and given a tutu. And be made to do cabaret dancing.

Little Miss Firecracker had struck yet again.

Storm had been in the middle of a discussion with Beatrice and others at the table on the puzzle the Transfiguration Professor had given the class regarding a counter spell and ideas for it when the owls arrived as usual -- almost. Suddenly, one by one, the owls began relieving themselves all over the room. Students were hushed as it took a moment for what was happening to register and then they began scrambling for cover wherever they could. Storm slid off the bench calling for Beatrice to join her and remained huddled with others under there. Unable to turn and look, Storm could not tell if Beatrice had made it under with her. ....... and then the screaming started.

Sophia had been greeted Paige when she joined her and returned to her reading until the flutter of wings alerted her to the morning arrival of owls. Not unusual in itself until the odd 'plopping' noise could be heard while the room normally full of chatter fell silent wondering what was going on. And within moments, you could hear the confusion as people began scrambling for cover. Unfortunately for Sophia she became a target for one of those owls and the resulting 'payload' landed causing her to shut her eyes and grasp around the table for a napkin to clean it off.

It was just moments after that the familiar sound of fireworks began sounding through the room and in Sophia's 'blinded state' she staggered in the wrong direction and became a target once more for a rocket lifting off to become one of the leprechans. Hers was just one of many screaming students as they began to panic and frantically try to escape stampeding over each other in the process. Sophia's screams did not last for long as the pain overtook her and she passed out falling to the floor.

Paige was quietly reading when it all began happening so fast. No one had time to move as the owls began unloading themselves all over the room. She and Sophia had both scrambled from their chairs in an attempt to crawl under their table but Paige looked up to see Sophia become the victim of one of the owls in such a manner that her sight was impaired. Paige was just about to go aid her friend when the sound of explosions filled the room and fireworks began going off in the midst of the confusion. Screaming came from everywhere and Paige was going to grab Sophia when she hit the floor hard and as she did struck her head on a table knocking herself out. No one bothered to worry as they trampled over her unconcious body trying to escape the mayhem.

It started so suddenly no one had any warning. One moment Rowan was sitting at the professor's table the next, she was doing her best to get up and try to stop the sudden 'bombing' by the owls, her wand out and ready to cast a spell to stop the mess that was occuring. Before she or any of the other professors there could utter the spell, a sound rather familiar to Rowan sounded in the room -- fireworks! Between the explosive sounds, the screaming of the candles as they took off to become dancing leprechauns and animals, Rowan remembered all to clearly the events one night when someone else thought it would be fine to pull a prank with fireworks. It was strictly luck and Professor Valentin's salves that Rowan bore no scars of that night.

Soon enough the screams of the rockets were drowned by the screams of students -- some in panic, some in fear, some in pain. Everyone was trying to escape or find cover and Rowan began trying to aid those who were now becoming injured as she hoped more staff would come and aid in the stopping of this confusion.
