as some of you know nihongo means japanese-^^-so this is a place where we can teach ourselves and others japanese-^^-you can also post japanese words so that everyone can learn them-^^-ok lets get this started

aem - rain
Ai - Love
aizu - eyes
akiramenai - I won't give up
Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki - Heaven's Soaring Dragon Flash
Anata = You
Arigatô Gozaimasu = Thank You Very Much
Ashita - tomorrow
Baka = Stupid
bakana - idiotic, or idiot-like
bitsnu ni - nothing
butsuketai - I'll give it my best
daiske (sp?) - A word you use to say you love something. (Watashi anata daiske would mean "I love you")
dame - don't
Dare? = Who? (Not Truth or Dare.. Da ray)
Dareka = Somebody
datte - But still,
densetsu - legendary
Dôita Shima Shite = You're welcome (Used as a reply)
Doko? = Where?
Dokoka = Somewhere
doo?/doo na no? - what's up?
eeru - yell
Gaka = Artist
genki - cheerful; energy
Gochi Sôsama Deshita = Thank you for the meal (After you eat)
gomenasai / gomen - I'm sorry
Hentai = Pervert/Perverted
Hiten Mitsurugi-ryuu - Heavenly Sword Style
Hitori = One Person/Lonely
ikaga desu ka? - how are you?
Itadakimasu = Thank you for the meal (Before you eat)
Itsu? = When?
Itsuka = Someday
karasu - crow
Kawaii = Cute/Nice
kejei - outer robe
ken - fist
kimisama - asshole
Kitenakasu - houshi robe
Kombanwa = Good Evening
Konnichiwa = Hello/Good Afternoon

kumo/gumo - spider
kuniye - behold
Kurasu - Kill, command form (Kurasu shoujo=Kill the girl)
kusuri kama - chain blade (Kohaku's weapon)

Nani? = What?
Nanika = Something
Naze? = Why?
Nazeka = for some reason
no - 's (Ai no Tenshi would mean Love's Angel, or Angel of Love)

ofukuro/baba - old hag
odasa - father
ogasa - mother
Ohayô Gozaimasu = Good Morning (some prefer Ohayô as an informal with friends, the longer the pronouciation the more formal)
okairi - welcome
ookami - wolf
Omae wo korosu - I'll kill you!
omaesan - hey, my dear, you
onegai - please
osuwarute - sit down (for a child)
osuwari - sit (for a dog)
Oyasuminasai = Good Night
sagashi - searching
Sakura = Cherry Blossoms
Sayônara = Good Bye
seeraa - sailor
shijuei - fighting outfit
shimatta - shit (not as severe as kuso)
Shin - True
Shinae - die/death
Shiniko - Die, command form (Shiniko Inuyasha=Die Inuyasha)
shitsumun ga aru desu ka? - I have a question
shizu - seeds
shizuka - quiet
shota - pedophilia
sora - look
sumairu - smile
Sumimasen = Excuse Me
Tadaima = I'm Back
tekken - I don't know for sure, but I think this means fighting spirit.

Toka - "I see"

See the pattern? That's how you count in Japanese up until 99...
When you reach 100 it goes like this...

Hyaku = 100
Hyaku Ichi = 101
Hyaku Ni = 102
Hyaku Jû Ichi = 111
Hyaku Jû Ni = 112
Hyaku Ni Jû Ichi = 121

And so on until you reach 999.. It's the same patter but you add onto it with Hayaku!

Sen = 1000
Man = 10,000
Oku = 1,000,000
Chô = one trillion
Kei = ten quadrillion
Gai = hundred quintilliton
Jo = one septillion
Jô = ten octillion
Kô = hundred nonillion
Kan = one undecillion
Sei = ten duodecillion
Sai = hundred tredecillion
Goku = one quindecillion
Gôgasha = ten sexdecillion
Asôgi = hundred septendecillion
Nayuta = one novemdecillion
Fuka Shigi = ten vigintillion
Muryô Taisû = hundred unvigintillion


The Months
Similar to counting but you just add Gatsu for Month

Gatsu = Month

Ichi Gatsu = First Month or January
Ni Gatsu = Second Month or February
San Gatsu = Third Month or March
Shi Gatsu = Fourth Month or April
Go Gatsu = Fifth Month or May
Roku Gatsu = Sixth Month or June
Shichi Gatsu = Seventh Month or July
Hachi Gatsu = Eighth Month or August
Kyû Gatsu = Ninth Month or September
Jû Gatsu = Tenth Month or October
Jû Ichi Gatsu = Eleventh Month or November
Jû Ni Gatsu = Twelfth Month or December


Now some of the days!

Nichi Yôbi = Sunday
Getsu Yôbi = Monday
Ka Yôbi = Tuesday
Sui Yôbi = Wednesday
Moku Yôbi = Thursday

Wow, that's awesome!!! My friend has a Japanese dictionary, but of course it doesn't include phrases.

Rain is actually Ame. (ah-meh)
Eyes can be Aizu, but that's the romanised version. Bettwr to say Me (Meh) or Medama if you mean eyeballs.
I've always heard Goddess as Megami.
Also, I think Mune might have a bouble meaning. The litteral meaning I know is breast. I'm not sure. Similarly, I know Kimisama means you (Quite politley) but it may have a sceond meanoing, or context.
shitsumun ga aru desu ka? Means "Are there any Questions?"

Does anyone know the word for 'weapon' though?
