----- ----- RASHID, PRINCE OF CALORMEN, SEVENTEEN
COOPER AARON VASQUEZ, PRINCE OF TELMAR, NINETEEN

    the plot:
The Kingdom of Telmar has long been ambitious. They hold power in a country far to the east, but have long envied the equally prosperous countries of the west. There is the lush Narnia, filled with talking beasts, and towards the south, there is the arid Calormen. In order to create a doorway to the western lands, the royal family of Telmar has been in negotiations with the King of Calormen in order to arrange a marriage between their youngest child, Isabella, and his only son. The union would be profitable for both sides, as the Vasquez family would place their blood on another throne while the Rashid family would find a formidable ally in the Telmarines. At sixteen years old, Isabella was to be shipped to Calormen with her governess and a few of her servants in order to meet her betrothed for the first time. However, nothing goes as planned. A storm struck the ship that was carrying the young princess, as she was tossed into the ruthless ocean. As her family mourned her death, they did not contact the royal family of Calormen to inform them that the intended bride had been lost at sea. With their hopes dashed after the death of Isabella, the Vasquez family began to silently mourn the loss of their daughter. However, the Crown Prince of Telmar, Cooper, refused to accept that his baby sister was dead. He set out with a small team of explorers and mapmakers to search for the wreckage of the ship, and his sister’s body.

When the anticipated arrival of his betrothed never came, the Prince of Calormen became quite peeved. He had been looking forward to meet the woman that would forever be his. However, he did not love Isabella, nor value the girl very much. Instead, he wished simply to have bragging rights and another trophy to put amongst the several other women he’d managed violate and break. You see, like his father, the young Prince was rather the womanizing sort. Cocky to the extreme amongst the ladies, he really didn’t harbor any emotions for them. Instead, he used and abused only the prettiest and most valuable women in Calormen. Isabella, as the only princess of Telmar, was seen as one of the greatest prizes. The wrath of the prince only ensued when she was never deposited on the docks of his country. He had one of his men write a letter to the King and Queen of Telmar, who responded saying that the ship of their coveted daughter had gone missing perhaps halfway through the trip. The prince, being the intelligent being he was, assumed that it had probably crashed onto one of the isles of Narnia, perhaps even on the shores of Narnia itself. The young prince, accompanied by a vast army, along with his army began it’s own search for his prize, or at least the body of his betrothed.

But she was not dead. Isabella Caterina Vasquez was very much alive.

It was a glorious day in Narnia when Peter Pevensie decided to escape the lectures of his professor in favor of the late afternoon sunshine. He traveled down to the Cove beside Cair Paravel, expecting to find just an empty beach. Instead, he found something much more interesting. Washed up onto his beach, bruised and slightly tattered, was the body of a young woman he’d never seen before. Nor did she look like anyone he had ever seen before. Dressed in her finery, he managed to drag the unconscious young woman up onto the beach. Weakened from some struggle, he carried the girl to the palace of Cair Paravel, before making sure she had something to drink and eat. On her wrist, was a simple silver bracelet, in scripted with three names “Isabella Caterina Vasquez”. She declared that that must be her name, although she wasn’t exactly sure who she was nor where she had come from. The girl who had washed up onto his beach was the Princess of Telmar, although neither of them had any knowledge of that at the time. She was diagnosed with amnesia before Peter did further investigation on her last name in particular. For weeks, however, the pair were nearly inseparable, Peter making frequent visits to her chambers to have a quick chat, all under the careful supervision of Isabella’s new tutor, Myrtle. Never the less, the pair developed an obvious fondness for each other. That was until Peter discovered who Isabella actually was, with the help of his professor. On a walk in the garden, he revealed to her that she was in fact, royalty of a distant country. It wasn’t too long before the entire palace was in a buzz that Isabella was a princess, and thus ought to be treated as one. Reluctantly, the still amnesiatic girl took to her new station. She began to take long rides away from the palace of Cair Paravel and stumbled upon the villiage of Chippingsford. However, someone had also found her. Cooper Vasquez had been traveling the wilds for about a month when he found his dearest sister. The pair embraced, happy to see one another yet again. Isabella retained her memory when she met her brother once again. But with that, she also retained the knowledge that she was betrothed to the Prince of Calormen.

These questions must be asked: Where is the young Prince of Calormen with his troops now? Will he ever reach Cair Paravel to inquire to the Kings and Queens of Narnia the whereabouts of his intended? Will he find Isabella? And if Isabella and the prince meet, will he drag her kicking and screaming back to Calormen? What about Isabella and Peter? Will they realize their feelings for one another before it’s too late? If they do, what will happen to them? Will Peter be willing to risk war with Calormen in order to protect the girl he has grown too fond of? Will Isabella be an obedient daughter and follow the path her parents set out for her? What of Cooper? Will he choose to side with his parents and risk his relationship with his sister? Or will he side with his sister and risk the inheritance of the throne?
