Riders Huts At Sylvan Weyr, the majority of the Dragonriders live in small huts rather than in caves on a cliffside. Most of them are made of wood with only a few exceptions. Infirmary The Infirmary is little more than a housetop on a few dozen posts, shielding from the burning sun. There are only a few areas that actually have walls - either used as storage or protection against storms. Kitchens Probably the largest building in the Weyr, entirely made of stone. The kitchens include a dining hall and numerous smaller places to sit down and eat. Candidate Barracks Right next to the Kitchens stands a slightly smaller building, likewise made of stone. The Candidate Barracks. Two doors open into two large rooms to either side of the Barracks, one for the girls and one for the boys. Hatching Sands On ground level, above the Storage Rooms, a huge gaping maw opens into the cliffside, more than five dragons in hight and eight in width: The entrance to the Hatching Sands. Weyrling Barracks Deeper into the cliff to the side of the huge Hatching Cavern lay the Weyrling Barracks, one room per pair, freeing the new riders from the crowded situation in the Candidate Barracks. The Shoreline The Ocean begins not far from Sylvan Weyr, across from the cliff and many beautiful beaches invite to hang out and relax or swim for a while. Gyre Block Hold A dark place to be at where dragonriders are not always welcome, this Hold certainly throws its shadow over the surrounding area. It was shaped out of a dark mountain, using existing caves aswell as creating new ones to ensure life even during Threadfall. Life is not easy at the second oldest settlement next to Sylvan hold as crops grow hard in the rocky mountains but somehow humans managed to survive even here...
