"Thanks."

Jack smiled as she placed her hand on his chest. It felt really warm to him, warm and so full of life. He willed his heart to not speed up any faster than it was at the moment. He closed his eyes and just enjoyed the feeling of her sitting on his lap, wrapped in his arms and resting her hand on his chest. She was solid, real, and here. No matter how numb she might still feel, Jack knew that Rose was absolutely full of life. Here and now, that was the true reality of the situation. No matter the pain, she was fire. Jack opened back up his eyes and nodded his head.

Her hand on his heart was just so bold and solid. It made him glad to have been brought back, to feel this moment. To be able to comfort her now in her time of grief and pain. Jack studied her face and had a soft, gentle smile on his face. He looked at her when she looked away from the hand on his chest and then up at him full in his face. She looked startled and a little in disbelief. He had to prove it to her then. He nodded his head slowly and then placed his hand over her own, his thumb brushed back and forth gently.

She’s locked his time, stopped him from changing ever. And suddenly, a pained look crossed Jack’s face. He’d outlive Rose. She would grow old, and die. Jack’s eyes grew incredibly sad suddenly. The Captain’s eyes looked away from her face. Now he felt truly terrible, the thought of living while Rose was not around anymore; horrible. Through an incredible force will he forced the matter from her mind and gave Rose a cherish smile. He wasn’t sad that she’d given this gift to him, and he was happy for it. If he hadn’t been at first, it was now. He got to live life over and over again, he almost found like a Time Lord. He lifted his hand up and brushed a hand through his hair and then placed it back down on her hand once more.

"Always Rose, it’s let me be here for you.”

He left his hand under her chin. He watched Rose’s eyes look down again, and now a thought occurred to him. A rather bad thought, something that he should never have considered; except for the problem that he was Captain Jack Harkness. Looking at her, he did something he knew he’d probably be slapped for. He sat up a little straighter and then leaned forward and brushed his lips over Rose’s very gently. He pulled back and then looked at her carefully, gauging her reaction.

“And for that, I’m ever grateful.”

His first confirmation that what she'd done hadn't been a horrible thing made her feel better. She'd always been worried that he thouht of that night, and felt like she'd ruined his life, wondering if he hated her, at least partially, for what she'd put him through. But now she felt like she knew nothing like that went thought his thoughts. She knew that there was a lot of good that could come from giving him life, after life, but there was so much sorrow, as well, and she was relieved to know that he didn't blame her for that. At least, if he did, he hid it from her, to try and stop her from feeling guilty.

When she felt him shift a little, straighten up, she though he might want to stand up.The blonde looked up at him, ready to get off of his lap, and let him go where he wanted, but the look in his blue eyes stopped her. Rose wasn't positive what he was thinking, but she just had a feeling when their eyes met, and when he leaned forward, she didn't pull back. Maybe she should have. Maybe she should have stopped him, and told him that it wasn't right. But what wasn't right about it, really? She was a widow, and had noone to be faithfull to, anymore.

When his lips brushed against her, she felt a warmth she hadn't thought she would ever feel again. She felt her heart beat a little faster, and a tingle ran up her spine at the brief, but meaningful contact of his lips against hers. When he pulled back, telling her that he would always be grateful, she felt her stomach knot. He had been saying all of the right things that night, and she knew that he'd meant every single one of them. Maybe it would havebeen wise for Rose to get up and move away, giving herself some space to think about this clearly, but she couldn't make herself move.

She was tired of feeling cold, and scared. She was tired of feeling alone, and like she was going to have to fight through every second of the rest of her life, just to keep going. When she wasn't numb, she was in agony, and she couldn't do it for much longer. The young blonde wanted to feel like she used to, complete, and warm, and cared for. Loved. Her eyes searched Jack's for a moment, before she raised a gentle hand, runningher fingers through his hair, befor letting herhand rest on the side of his face. She'd made her desicion. Leaning forward this time, Rose let her lips brush softly against his, before pressing them more firmly, her eyes closing.

Jack smiled when Rose seemed to finally think that he was actually content with her. He watched her carefully and smiled calmly. He also know that she probably didn’t believe him, she’d probably see the upsides, and the downsides. And that was classic Rose, she always thought about both sides of the equation. Not just one, both. All the time. At the time Jack suspected that she hadn’t been in all the right mind when she’d looked into the TARDIS. Such a noble girl, such a noble, brilliant, beautiful, thoughtful girl. He smiled warmly at her.

After the brief kiss he smiled, watching her. She didn’t seem inclined to smack him – or anything much more violent. When his lips had brushed hers, an unexpected jolt had run through his body. He kept his smile on her face as she seemed to be thinking over the kiss. What it could mean, what it did mean, how Jack felt about her. He could have just told her he was grateful verbally. But that wasn’t entirely Jack’s style; the kiss was very much more to the Captain’s style. And he could see (and feel, just a little) that Rose had enjoyed it as well.

When she didn’t move, he paused. He was about to question her when her eyes gained a steely look to them. Jack blinked and was abut to ask another question and then she searched his eyes. He blinked a few more times and then froze as she raised a hand, and then ran her hands through his (to be frankly honest) soft hair. Jack smiled and closed his eyes, looking like a very pleased cat. In fact, Jack probably would have started to purr when her hands were planted on the sides of his face. His blue eyes flew open in surprise.

He didn’t get a chance to say anything and when her lips brushed against his, his eyes went blank. The Captain froze for several more seconds, watching Rose. Then, when she pressed more firmly, Jack wrapped his arms around Rose’s body and kissed her back, suddenly passionate. The feeling of kissing her was incredible.

When Rose had first started to kiss Jack, for the first second she'd been afraid that she'd mis-read his intentions. What she had taken for a real kiss, might have just been something small between friends, like a kiss on the cheek. She had thought that he might have been tensed, because he was uncomfortable, and he didn't know what to do, thinking that they should stop. It wouldn't be a crazy idea, he might feel wrong about it, because of what she had been through and had had with THe Doctor, or perhaps his strong feelings for her were purely platonic.

Maybe he only saw her as just a friend, a very close and loved friend, but nothing more. He'd talked about Ianto, and maybe he was thinking about the other man, wondering if this would hurt him. How close were those two? The thoughts swirled in her mind, until Jack's wrapped his arms around her. Her fears subsided, feeling him kiss her back. Maybe he'd just been surprised that she would do something so bold at this point in time, but she wanted to. She wanted that feeling of something good, and something that wouldn't hurt her, and make her feel like she didn't belong.

After the pause, she hadn't been sure what kind of kiss to expect, but the passion that he met her with was exactly what she desired to feel. It was the complete opposite of everything that had been running through her veins, giving her a new kind of energy and feeling of life that she hadn't felt for far too long. Rose pressed herself against him, as his arms held her tightly, and as she moved, her robe slipped, uncovering her legs up to her thighs. Kissing The Doctor had been perfect, true love and it had been almost more spiritual that physical, in some ways. A connection of souls.

Kissing Jack was fireworks, and perfect in a completely different way. He was extremely skilled in all sins of the flesh, she knew that. She'd heard the stories, and she knew that his body was special, compared to the men of her time. 51st century men were just different, biologically. When you put that together with the love she had for him, and the trust and respect she had in her heart, it made the kiss more than electric. It left her feeling breathless and made her skin tingle in a way it hadn't before.

Jack had known that Rose was a good kisser, he’d kissed her once before. A very long time ago. But that had been a ‘farewell, so long, thanks for the adventures’ sort of kiss. This was on an entirely different level of passion and emotion. This was Rose finding a different way to channel her energy. He uttered a soft sound, still kissing her as she pressed against him. He’d always had this sort of dream in the back of his mind. Ever since he’d first met Rose Tyler. He felt her passion and need, and found himself meeting it. His arms gripped her tighter when she moved against him.

He’d had a lot of kisses in his time, but this one was by far the most different. It set off emotions in his body Jack hadn’t felt in a while. Fear, passion, a twinge of guilt, love. He couldn’t even begin to compare Rose verses Ianto; they were both amazing in their own ways. And Jack couldn’t bring himself to even think about which one was better. Instead he just let his mind go and kissed Rose. He broke for a breath, looking at her tenderly. Then he went back in for a gentler kiss before pulling back yet again.

He tilted his head a little to the side and kissed her jawline. His body was acutely aware of hers, and how she was reacting to him. At the first since of tension in her he’d stop. But so far… Rose had been more than willing. So Jack kept up the kissing, lightly brushing his lips against her jaw, and her lips. She tasted magnificent, something indescribable. Jack loved that about Rose, there was always something different about her.

A thought crossed his mind, what if she was using him? Jack pushed it away; he didn’t care if she was. It meant he was still here to help, he’d offered. She took him up on that. He would do whatever it took to make her happy. And given that he was Jack Harkness, everything was in his grasp. He let one hand slide down and rested it on her expose thigh, and then looked at her. Jack wanted to ask her what she wanted, how far she was willing to go. But a part of him didn’t want to; what if she said no and told him to stop?

But there was nobleness about Jack. He would always understand. Though, currently, he was cursing that part of himself. Jack had to ask. He gave a mental groan and fixed Rose with serious eyes, his hand still resting lightly on her lap. “Rose, I’m going to keep going, but if you ever want me to stop. Just say it, and I will.” He had to say it, because he respected Rose too much not to. Jack was easily able to commit to anything that Rose wanted to do, but he had to know the boundaries.

As Rose's lips parted, deepening their the passionate kiss, her let her tongue explore Jack's mouth, while her hand made it's way up, and into the soft locks of his hair. She would have continued kissing him like that, if she hadn't needed the oxygen that the kiss had caused her to be lacking. When their lips parted, Rose took a few needed deep breaths through her kiss-swollen lips, her eyes opening to see the handsome face of the man who's lap she was currently occupying. Just that kiss, that one deep, meaningful and mind-blowing kiss had been something she could never have imagined and done it justice.

She'd never had a kiss like that, nothing with so much fire and electric energy that made her feel like she should be shivering with the jolt that ran through her viens. She managed to keep her eyes open long enough to see his head lean in again, before feeling his lips brush over her fair skin again. She had always known that he was a skilled lover and romancer of women... and probably anyone else, but while she might have wondered exactly what he would be like, she hadn't thought that it would be so perfect. It was like he knew every single one of her perfect points and sensitive spots before he'd even touched them.

He knew exactly where she liked to be kissed, and even introduced her to knew places that she hadn't considered before, and made the nerves feel electrified. She let her head tilt slightly as his kisses moved from her lips to her jaw. Once they'd returned to her mouth, she moved her own to capture his lips in another kiss, this one a bit more gentle, but just as powerful. She almost forgot exactly what she was doing, just letting her body do what it felt, until she felt his hand moved to rest on the uncovered skin of her leg.

His lips parted from hers once more, and Rose forced her eyes to open. His clear blue eyes fixed hers with a serious gaze that made her feel so many longs. Longing, trust, desire, and she felt like she could see the understanding in his eyes. If anyone could understand the way he felt, it would have to be him. Even if he'd never been through exactly the same thing, she doubted anyone had, he'd lived through so much loss. He would know how she felt. His words made her wonder if she knew exactly what she was doing with him. Was this right?

Was there the chance that it was wrong? She was a widow, and the man she loved, in fact, both men that she loved, were gone. Theone that was still alive had lost the love they'd once shared, and had given his heart to another. Who was she waiting for? Nobody. There was noone left. She was left alone, and all she had now, in this universe, was Jack. That was all she needed to know. He said that he would keep going, and she thought she could hear his own desire in his deep and soothing voice. She wanted him to need her as much as she needed him.

Even if she was imagining it, decided to let herself continue to believe that he loved her and wanted her, and wanted nothing more than this, like she did. Maybe it was too much to ask, but she didn't care at that moment. All she thought about was Jack, and his arms wrapped around, still holding her to him. Rose's hazel eyes looke down at his hand on her thigh, before she looked back up with a small smile on her face. She lifted both of her hands, moving them to the color of his shirt, before letting her fingers slowly begin to undo the first few bottons of his shirt.

"I know."

Jack smiled as Rose explored his mouth. She was something else all together. After being with the mc!doctor, Rose knew a thing or two about kissing. And Jack was more than happy to kiss her. He smiled as she took a deep breath and looked into his eyes. He was perfectly calm still, with a smile on his lips. Jack sat easily on the chair; he let Rose dwell on just what sort of kisses he could give. Looking at the beautiful face of Rose Tyler he smiled. It was one of these times when he wanted to know what the other person was thinking.

He felt her shiver as he kissed at her skin. She tasted so interesting, not something that he could very easily describe. Jack could tell that he knew exactly where he was supposed to lick, touch and nip. He laughed at Rose’s expression, it was a nice laugh. Rose was something else; he smiled at her and kissed her chin gently. Rose was sensitive to his touches, which he knew. There were few people in the world that could actually refuse his charm. And this time, he was glad that Rose didn’t refuse him. She was magnificent.

Jack was pleased to see that Rose enjoyed what he was doing. Talking and being a friend was something easy for himself to be, but this… this was who Jack was. Sexual, sensual, handsome, caring, devoted; that’s what the real Jack Harkness enjoyed doing. He smiled at Rose again when she looked down at him. Jack could see lust, hope, want… longing to feel again. All of these emotions were in her eyes as she stared down at him. Jack had to be absolutely sure if she was willing.

He loved Rose; she was another part of him. And he wanted her to feel that. As she looked down at him, he was completely aware that his hand was on her warm thigh. And just a few more inches up… he grinned devilishly as Rose looked up at him with a smile on her face. When she lifted up both her hands, Jack thought she was going to kiss him. But then her hands went down below his face. He looked down and then back up at Rose when she started to unbutton his shirt. Jack laughed a little and then looked down at both of her hands. He could feel the feather light touches on his chest as she unbuttoned his shirt and exposed the white shirt he wore under that.

“Good.”

She returned his grin with a smile of her own, letting her hands move down one button at a time, until she'd gotten all the way down to where his shirt was tucked into his trousers. She then et her hands run back up his chest, up his newly exposed white shirt, until her arms were hanging loosly around his shoulders again, her eyes looking into his. His soulful eyes were enough to make any girl weak in the knees. She'd always manage to resist his charm, and let him be with others, while her heart remained with The Doctor. Now, however, she let herself give into him.

Leaning forward once more, she captured his lips with her own, and kissed him with as much love and need as she had the first time. She knew that whatever happened that night, she wouldn't ever forget it, or regret it. She wasn't going to decide what they would or wouldn't do, though it was pretty clear what path they were heading down. She was just going to let it happen. Whatever they did together, there was every reason to, and no reason not to. She just wanted him, and she wanted him to make her feel alive again, and that she hadn't lost everything.

She wanted to let herself be connected to someone else, someone that she loved and cared about, and that she knew would do anything for her, like she would always do for him. There was nothing more powerful than the feeling of love, and she was almoost determined to prove that. As she kissed him, she let one of her hands wander down again. pulling up at hisshirt, to get it out from it's place underneath his belt. She wanted to feel his skin underneath it, and his strong muscles. it might havebeen easier with them standing, but she was too busy to pull her lips from his.

She did end up pulling away from him, though, long enough to catch her breath. She took in oxygen, and licked her lips, before she stood up from his lap. There were more comfortable places to do what she wanted to with him. As she moved, the silky fabric of her robed slipped from it's place, falling over her shoulder and down her arm, but she didn't fix it. What was the point in covering her shoulder when she was pretty sure, she wouldn't be covering anything, pretty soon. Her eyes told him to follow her as she moved away from him and headed out of the control room, towards her bedroom
