Oni-Con when where what, details

THIS IS JUST APPROXIMATE DETAILS!!! nothing is set in stone, if you have a problem with something, please just comment about it, it can be changed

Departure and Transportation Details:

WHEN: Friday, October 19 at 9:00 am
WHERE: The San Jacinto Mall Parking lot outside of the entrance to the movie theatre/food court
WHAT: to leave for oni-con
MEANS: Rashida's, Melissa's, and Alissa's cars
WHO: Anyone who needs a ride, as far as i'm concerned, even if they aren't rooming w/ us, like friends or whoever, i'm going anyway, so as long as we have room, i don't care, b/c i'm goin anyway

Food:

Hey, so i guess i'll volunteer to bring a cooler for our room, so if anyone could bring food or drinks like beef jerky, ramen, cola, etc, that would be good!

ANYONE WANT TO VOLUNTEER TO BRING A MICROWAVE FOR MEL"S ROOM????

also, i guess we could do a dinner run like at Anime Matsuri at the macy's downtown...but it closes at 6:00, so remember this is just tentative

****[another option: i will be driving back and forth from clear lake on maybe friday night and definitely on saturday morning, so i could pick up pizzas or something from dominos (i know where one is down there) if you wanted to pitch in money or something, since i know there aren't many restaurants down there, or whatever, just a thought]

FOOD RUNS:

WHEN: Friday and Saturday, October 19 & 20 at 5:00pm
WHERE: meet outside the starbucks on the second level
WHAT: go to the Macy's downtown mall to go get fast food (if i remember, they have multiple asian chains, a chic-fil-a, a starbucks, etc.)

RULES:

i'm just gonna generalize and assume this applies to both rooms, so, again, these are tentative:

1) ONLY SOFT LUGGAGE!!, and only 1 bag per person, unless cosplayers have extra crap...no one wants to trip and fall on your rock hard suitcase and puncture a kidney at 3 in the morning!

2) Bring blankets and pillows!, not everyone gets a bed, and the rooms are cold

3) no staying up all night being really loud if people are trying to sleep, take it somewhere else

4) no alchohol, drugs, or pornography in the rooms!!! if you want to go to a room party and get smashed, i don't care, but don't bring that crap into the rooms, and don't come back drunk and start sleep walking and stepping on people, and making people worry about you....

okay, thats it for now, any comments or suggestions for other things would be welcome...i'm just writing it all down, cause if i don't it usually doesn't end up happening at all...

You pretty much covered anything and everything.And if said person wants to get wasted and such,it wouldn't matter,since she's not rooming with us anyway. :=3: When you say bring food,you mean for everybody?I do have a decent amount of ramen for everybody in the room,not saying it'll last a day though.*checks* Snap,I only have 3 packs.You could kinda sorta designate things people can bring,as if it was a school "celebration"?

okay, i'll do that, but can you suggest things ( like what kind of food) that need to be designated??

by bring food, i meant definitely bring enough for yourself, but bringing an economy sized pack of something for both yourself and the poor starving otaku that forgot to bring something would be GREAT!! you know how fast we ran out of food last year...

also, is ivan and his brother/cousin/whatever still rooming w/ us?

Yes, they'll still room with us.Ivan's cousin is only staying for one day though.

okay, you go ahead and do that, just make sure we get adequate coverage of drinks, though, since that's somehting we always seem to forget....and if we forget anything, we can always use next thursday's SAC meeting to go over last minute details....

btw, i love this comment from the cosplay thread on oni's forum:

i dont think said person appreciates having her name thrown out there and singled out when said person is not even in Said Group's ROOM.

as for rules in the room:
No drugs, no sex, no bringing people over who are wanting drugs/sex, or thieves.
Have fun.
Don't steal my shtuff.
Don't be annoying and dont leave your bras and panties lying around wherever.
No curfew, just dont come back stepping on people and talking extremely loud.
KEEP THE ROOM CLEAN AND EVERYONE AND THEIR STUFF NEEDS TO BE NEATLY PLACED IN A DESIGNATED SPOT. PLEASE USE The drawers and closet in the room so that whoever will be sleeping on the floor will actually have their floorspace and not have to sleep next to feet and ramen.

have fun doing whatever you do and dont start/get anybody involved in drama.

Talked to Charniece,her bro might not be rooming with us.More room for us hopefully,same goes for Jessica.If all this works out,there'd only be 6 people by Saturday morning. :happy:

i'm with you on the more room thing....NO REFUNDS!!!

Charniece assured me he wont or can't get his money back.Also do we need to get everybody's number again or have a meeting like last year or not?

He doesn't care about getting his money back (stupid rich brother) so there won't be any problems there.

I agree that we should get peoples' numbers like we did last year.

I mean bringing the food,that is the fund.No money,if you feel compelled to lend me some moolah,who am I to turn it away? :domo: But seriously,technically you don't have to bring food since you're not in the room...,more is better though.If you want to help us out,please feel free.

Oh,one more thing,Ivan's bringing some drinks and I'll bring some beef and chicken flavored ramen,I tried looking for the cup stuff,but all they had was shrimp flavored,so I didn't get it sorry.
