 A-kon 19, i figure its time to put up some info

so, this is the second time i've typed this b/c the other one deleted itself...grr

since a lot of people will be using their x-mas money to pay for this, so people can get an idea of how much they need to save, i'm gonna go ahead and estimate some of the costs and due dates

so, i'm guessing there's gonna be 2 rooms:

Rashida's:

1) Rashida
2) Trent
3) Mitch
not sure if thats right or how many people are going, but this is just an estimate

Alissa's:

1) Alissa
2) Robert
2) Melissa
4) Charneice
5) Adolfo
6) Pepe (jose i think)
not sure if thats right or all the people or whatever...

so, i think it would be best if we got the rooms next to each other since the adams mark is huger than the hilton...so, we kinda need to get the money in on time so rashida can reserve them together (if she's willing to do that)

COSTS: everything except the badge costs i don't know about for rashida's room people, so this stuff mainly i guess just applies to my room

Hotel:

since they haven't put up new rates for the hotel rooms, just assume that this is an estimate until we have more info (they shouldn't be that much higher, maybe 10 bucks a night more if anything)

so, 149 a night * 2 = 298 + 15% tax = 343 divided by 6 people =

approximately 60 bucks a person

Transportation:

considering that its about a 525 miles round trip and if a car gets 20 miles a gallon, it should take like 27 gallons, times 3 bucks a gallon = 80 bucks,

i think we should all just chip in 15 bucks to the person driving for gas and wear and tear on the car

Parking:

considering that parking should be about 10-15 dollars a day at a reasonable lot, i think we should all just chip in 5 bucks to the person thats driving

Badge:

badges after december 1st will be 35.00 per person

so, 35 minus the 15% group discount = 29.75 dollars per person

Food:

i'm thinking we should just do like we did for oni and just all bring various things instead of chipping in money

ESTIMATED TOTAL COSTS:

Hotel: $60
Transportation: $15
Parking: $5
Badge: $30


Total costs per person excluding spending money (for my room at least) should be about: $110 per person

with new announcements of updated badge or hotel rates, this post will be amended, however, the price per person should not rise above $125 per person...

ESTIMATED DUE DATES:

Hotel: money due by Jan 31st.
Badge: money due by Feb 28th.
Transportation and Parking money will be given directly prior to departure...

thats not bad also just thought you should know Devin wants to go he says that he can carry/ give ride to 4 more in his truck and also says we can but stuff on his truck then only thing is that he wants to leave either sunday night or monday morning.

sorry for double post

yah me and devin where also talking about this a while back i think it was me or rashida dont remember but said why stay at the hotel their why not try to find somewhere cheap? that way we can have more money, also about food since we are driving their well talking from my view with devin, he said that we can but money on a day that we dont feel like eating ramen or what not that we can go look for a place and order food for the whole group, like pizza and stuff their is even a chance that i might drive up their since i may be getting my license if i pass my driving test next week. if so then i mighht be able to take some people and use devin truck to but stuff on that way we wont be pack in a car with all the stuff? just an idea ill let him know what you guys think

well, i really don't like the idea of having to walk around the middle of dallas looking for crap or having to pay extra parking so i can get my car out and to another lot if we would have to drive...and with people in different places at all times, i don't think it would be very safe, considering that someone could get accidentally left behind to wander dallas by themselves...

if devon wants to drive out monday, but i was thinking sunday afternoon after the con officially closes. he is more than welcome to pay the extra money for another night and drive out monday, so...and theres no point in having 5 cars driving up there, when we only need like, 2 or 3...

i see your point on the back and forth thing. and about him leaving he wants to leave sunday after the con the only reason i was asking is becasue i heard that some people not sure who wanted to stay their for a week or something like that to hang out. also if we get the group thing foir passes he was asking if he can Pay with us and probably room with us

Wow uh a little early to planning for something all the way in Late May/Early June. And from this list is implying, most of this is past off assumption as far as who is staying in what room. I'd wait until people have actually said who they're rooming off until you jump to conclusions. Unless people already have then thats a different story. Just my two cents.

but Me amber and teresa and ...tiffany? i think? if she is going...
plan on staying in dallas for like 2 or 3 more days after the con to hang out and party and what not.
Adolfo if theres people from your room who wanted to do that too then yall could room with us probably since i dont think all of our roomies are staying the entire week some will probably leave after a con.
I dunno we arent really planning that far ahead but i'm guessing if we do decide to stay we'll move to a cheaper hotel after the con because paying 100 something bucks a night for like 5 to six days.. gah.
BUT then again we also wanna see if we can get a deal on an executive suite so if that works out who knows. cuz i know there was some people who got exec. suites for oni-con for only a little bit more than what regular rooms costed. u just have to ask the hotel for their specials and what not. so it all depends.

well, i know most of the people on the list have said that they were going, so i just kind of assumed they would be in about the same rooms...but if that changes, then thats fine...its a little early, but its better to go ahead and get things down so we have something to reference to...

i guess if the dates are too early that we could change, but beware that hotel rooms book fast and then we get stuck in the overflow hotel that is further away, so...

whoever wants to stay in dallas, i consider that a seperate thing, so as far as devon was concerned, i was gonna leave sunday as well, as are most people...

i was hoping it was gonna be rashida, considering that you have to be 18+ and shes the only one with a credit card, but if someone else in our room has a dredit card, then they can do it i guess...i won't be 18 at the time, so i'm out
