Star Trek Liberator - July 11, 2004 12:57 PM (GMT)
Name: James H. Sharpe
Rank: Chief Warrant Officer
Current Assignment: U.S.S. Liberator consultant team
Age: 43
Date Of Birth: Stardate 19751.70
Place Of Birth: Mauritius Colony
Species: Terran
Gender: Male

Family: Parents - Richard & Marion Sharpe. No siblings. No other relatives he keeps in touch with.

Height: 5 foot 11 inches
Weight: 192 lbs
Eye Color: dark brown
Hair: dark auburn with crew-cut, prematurely graying.

Physical Description: Carries himself in a way that's obvious he has a military background. Has medium build. Has somewhat pale, Caucasian complexion with some freckles

Distinguishing Marks: None that you'd notice.

Relationship Status: Single, doesn't plan to commit until retirement in 12 more years.

Education: Was raised in a co-ed military boarding school on his home planet, known as the Mauritius Colony. His lifelong interest in communication science can be traced to the fact that many of his classmates were inoperably deaf. His parents were in his life often, but his main role models were his instructors. After graduating, he enrolled in a nearby program for Starfleet warrant officers and has since spent his long career in Starfleet communications.

Service Record: His third assignment in Starfleet, as an Ops Officer on the Starship Prescott, came to a bad end when the ship discovered (the hard way) a new virus. This virus killed the majority of the crew in a most horrible way and caused every single survivor to spend a month or more at a starbase hospital. All the Prescott's former crew still bear physical and psychological scars as a result. The Prescott was put in dry-dock and it's surviving crew (those who stayed in Starfleet) were assigned elsewhere.

Has since taken on the less dangerous role of a consultant for starship design, with expertise in designing communications arrays and deflector dishes. His latest project is working on the communications array and deflector dishes of the Starship Liberator.

Ambitions: To make it to retirement so he can finally feel free to start a family.

Likes: radio astronomy, subspace physics as it relates to communication, shield harmonics and sonic weaponry design.

Dislikes: commisioned officers who boss uncommisioned officers around unnecessarily, especially when he has more Starfleet experience than they do. Also dislikes telepaths who read his mind without permission, which he'd likely never give.

Strengths: Has been confronted with death so routinely and often in his career that people tend to think he's foolishly brave when he's really just pragmatic and realistic and values others' lives more than his own.

Limitations: Has poor social skills, so has few real friends.

Languages: FSL (Federation Sign Language,) Orion, Andorian, Vulcan, Romulan, (nearly mastering the Reman dialect,) and several other common Alpha Quadrant languages.

Hobbies and Interests: Reading, writing, deep-sea and cave diving, canoeing, camping, hiking, fencing with unconventional but historically accurate rapiers, designing communications gear and survival gear.

Talents and abilities: Needs little sleep for a human. Wears a tiny device in his left ear that works as an audio scanner which he controls with the tricorder he custom-designed and always has with him. Also carries a full-sized communicator that has more versatility and range than a comm-badge.

Special Abilities: Lip-reading.

Quirks: Is a workaholic. Likes to listen in on conversations using that hearing aid gadget of his.

Medical Report: Has been injured in the line of duty on several occasions, with his time on the Prescott leaving his skin not quite healed where Starfleet Medical had to replace his infected skin. Has also been injured many times before joining Starfleet.

Psychological Report: Doesn't like "shrinks." Only lasting psychological issue is momentary flashbacks he suffers when a sight or sound reminds him of his time spent on the U.S.S. Prescott.
