Sure. Let's give some public numbers.

These are from release (at ~7:30) to midnight last night. Note that iTunes did not receive the RSS ping until some time later (I don't know about Zune). I'll post day two stats later:

StarshipExcelsior.com: 32 downloads
Zune: 98 downloads
iTunes: 17 downloads

Total: 147 downloads

Do any of the other productions out there (particularly audio) give out public numbers? The only stats from other productions I've ever heard are from Continuing Mission, and I was sworn to secrecy.

Cool, no I've not seen any public numbers but for DR Episode 2 we're at 547.

That sounds about right.

I wonder if we could convince a few other shows to open up about their numbers. We could get some friendly competition going... and at the same time learn a few things about successful publicity based on which shows are more and less successful with various strategies.

Overnight day two stats:

iTunes: 51
Zune: 128
Site [total]: 26
Day Two Total: 205

Running total: 352 dls

We're on pace to soundly shatter our previous record of hitting the critical 450 download mark in 21 days.

Other news: I received word a few minutes ago that TrekWeb will be running a shortened form of our press release about the contest sometime this week. TrekWeb's Alexa traffic rank is about seven million places higher than ours, so this is very exciting.

I'll keep posting these numbers until somebody tells me to stop.

Day 3:

iTunes: 21
Zune: 111
Site: 18

Day Total: 150
Running Total: 502 downloads

*fist pump*

I would expect the numbers to begin falling off sharply starting (probably) tomorrow.

P.S. We are on TrekWeb. Check out the far left side of the page. Oorah!

Sounds good! I just wish others were as transparent. It would be nice to know how we stack up.

I don't want to do all the typing I would need to get the dailies, but here're the running totals! From launch day through April 5th:

Zune: 645
iTunes: 286
Site: 125

Total: 1056 downloads

Hey, we reached a thousand downloads in only one week! That's never even remotely close to happened before! Whoa!

I also put up an announcement about 203 on my Live Journal. I think this is the only show I'm doing it for, as of right now, but I could be wrong.

Aren't you the one who predicted the numbers would decline sharply? I bet this is one time you don't mind being wrong! biggrin.gif

You aren't. I read your LJ.

I think I read the entire thing. Internet stalker points awarded to me!

If I wasn't at least mildly interested, I probably wouldn't have read it. So, if it's a compliment you want, it's a compliment you've got.
