The 360 is going to be....well amazing. As the old box had a 500mHZ p3 processor, the 360 will have three symmetrical cores running at 3.2gHZ each. Dont rub your eyes. ITs true. The first one had 64 megs of memory; 360 has 512. And with xbox having 112 milllion pixles a second, the 360 will have 500 million. That means smooth, smooth, dreamy graphics.
These are actual screenshots for those who dont believe.
I LOVE YOU GUYS...INFACT I LOVE EVRY1, IM A HIPPY AND I LOVE THE WOLRD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NITRO, YOUR THE BEST AT EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

When images are that big, please post links, and not the images themselves. Anyway, the first pick, that developer needs to work on it a bit, it's kinda blocky still.
And yes, gears of war looks very nice, but whether it'll be a killer app is yet to be seen. Graphics aren't everything in a game, nor do they really make a game.
And double check your information on the Xbox

You know how there realeasing this before any other new system? That's not such a great idea since Nintendo and Sony could easily see what Microsoft did and just make their systems and work even better.

Well here's one for you. In a article I got with my PSM lately (talk about rip off advertising. Sending an xbox 360 booklet with a PS2 magazine) J Allard was asked that with future upgrades (possible bigger HDD's) if they could add more processing power to their system. Of course, J Allard wouldn't deny this...
Which goes to show how cheap MS will be in the end. Releasing before everyone and then upping your system just because it didn't do as well as the others the first time is a bad manuever.
This page is too wide!!!!! lol Yeah. This is MS's last year in the industry anyways isn't it?

A hippy eh? Well thought up. Knowing MS they will probably just upgrade but who would actually go out and keep upgrading?

Last console? i extremely doubt it. Microsoft has an edge on all of the others because of its size and nearly endless supply of funds. Like infectious said, the 360 is going to try to get an edge on the rest of the next-gen consoles by releasing by the end of a year, holiday season. But with it only not going into the beta testing, there are many worries that it wont be ready in time, and if it is, how stable the system will really be. Many believe that by rushing that the system wont be able to sustain itself for long, and will come with many glitches. There is also a debate at why the 360 is going to be so...basic if you will. The ps3 is going to be using blu-ray technology discs, capable of holding more than 10x the amount of data on a single disc than what the 360 is going to be using. You cant also forget what sony has that microsoft doesnt. Cell technology. The cell chip clocked in at over 7 ghz, and incredible amount of speed faster than any home computer. although considering it did produce a fairly large amount of heat, just thing if they were to have two, or three, of the cells running and 4 or 5 ghz. The 360's going to have to get the upper hand by releasing sooner than the rest. It may be its only hope. The nintendo revolution is going to have touchscreen controllors, that means custom controls for everygame to make it easier to play. The 360 may be great, but its only advantage may be its early release date.

i agree, the 360's approach at thinking an early release is going to win them teh war is silly! Microsoft have announced that teh 360 isnt running at full powerr and teh screens we see now are not its potential fully, and to expect better visuals on the release.
also, a big blow to microsoft is ofcourse "cell" with just a single cell chip the ps3 will own any console, but sony will be implementing cell in there new line of tv's too, which if hooked up with a ps3 will work together! generating better sound and visuals etc!

Microsoft and Nintendo are going to have to work really hard to keep up with Sony. But i think that with what the xbox 360 is going to have that it may have something up its sleeve.

dont gimme that dude! "its microsfot" ok, id accpet it if we were talking PC's as we all know they are unrivaled in that genra, but what exactly do they offer that sony doesnt in console terms?
Power>no longer in there advantage extras>........can use the psp and has online play(ps3 also has that and psp is sonys) games>good, but not the same as sonys massive attire of support form many companys
i could go on, overall they have nothing that is truley new to consoles, they really have fallen down a boring path that offers more power! i for one love that, but i want more than that! and there answer for "more" being silly little things like changing the consoles bdy or the control pad lighting up on a small button when online and invited to play a game is silly! sony on teh other hand, have truely found a new approach to gaming and a new way forward, "cell" alone is exciting. we neednt say more on that! let alone the prospects open for sony with this new power, it ruled with the ps2, which was arguably the least powerfull console, yet it seriously pushed its hardware to limits that it shoudnt really have reached, so just image what it can do with the ps3! microsoft like infectious said, are very very scared! hell, even the mighty ninty who i feel act as if they are the gods of consoles are fearfull of sony!
overall, even with new power levels, xbox 360 strikes me as being boring! me and infectious discussed in a past topic about consoles vs pc's! he said that its likely consoles will just offer more power and gf levels, 360 is going down that path, the rev is going teh best way forward, and the ps3 has teh best potential overall to reach new levels! simply offering more power, will land you a nice set of average gamers! people who dont know left from right really! if anythign the revs gamers will have the most fun, and will have a far more enjyable experience than 360 gamers!

The Xbox360 may not be running at full power, but it won't improve too much just now once it is. As many enthusiasts have stated around the net, the rest of the supposed '2/3' power that the 360 isn't using yet will probably be used to maintain the 60 FPs standard for their games. Of course, this could be incorrect, but I'm sure not too far off the bat. 1st Gen games won't compare to what they come up with next.
As for the PS3's blu-ray, a lot of people are worried about this as well. The cost of the discs and recorders are apparently, quite expensive. And developers are worried about the costs. Sony always sets high standards though, and developers rise to meet them. And most of the companies complaining about the costs are the studios that produce 1-3 games in a console's lifetime anyway.
360 is using the standard (and basic) DVD9's which hold I belive 8.5GB's of space. Right now, Blu-ray has I think 20-40 GB's worth of space on it (now for games, this format is sensible!) and a new version of the discs was just released that holds 100GB's of data. Blu-ray, I hope, becomes the standard. Because logically for games, these offer the amount of storage. And if developers could find a way (it was rumored sometime ago, and has yet to be denied/confirmed) that blu ray discs would be capable of recording data onto them inside the PS3. Now, what I'm saying here is, developers could find a way to code lock the discs so that only their content could be put on the discs! This would beat MMoRPG's into a severe come to me status cause well, who the hell needs a harddrive? Put your MMoRPG on a Blu-ray 100GB disc, charge twice the price (include an expansion update free) and you've got yourself a huge space to put future content into. =)
And of topic for two seconds. Ps3's controller shown at E3 was conceptual. It hasn't been solidified as to what it will actually look like.
As for the people who don't know left from right, most PC tech type's own an xbox. It's a natural attraction to power. *shrugs* And Nitro on that PC thing, right now it's all falling down to overall time, paperwork, and costs. PC gaming is still the cheapest type on the planet. =)
I'm, actually becoming more disappointed with nintendo by the day. I could give a rats ass less if you could download past games. I mean, sure the nes and snes classic's, that's cool. N64, maybe. But GC games? Alright, we're pushing the backward compatibility thing to rediculous depths. And so far we've heard nothing from nintendo! Even the design of the console shown at e3 has been heard to IR (in reality) be even smaller when it's released! I mean, what are we aiming for? Certainly not a revolution as they'd like to say. Nintendo is very stressed right now and IMO, they are going to mess up some way or another. Much as I love their games, it's probably going to be their last generation of console.
Sony's got what most gamers want, and that's a higher amount of variety. Yes, 360's getting a game from Square Enix, and from two of the guys who were heads of Square. No biggie. If they can put together actual good games is what matters. A lot of xbox fans are trying to rub the exclusive games that Mistwalker is making for the 360, IMO, so what!? Will they actually be good? Will Sakaguchi be able to keep up with stories and such? I mean, the guy was the reason the FF movie bit the dirt.

Backwards compatibility for me, doesnt excite me one bit, it didnt even when ps2 announced it first! microsoft state they want to make more rpg games to get more support form gamers in the east...lol, aslong as theres a big fat "X" on the console, sales will never overtake sony over there!
as for ninty, i feel the same, i respect thm in every way for what theyve done, but i feel they are trying to revolutionise gaming a little too far wit stupid little things, toucscreens...pathetic not a revolution atall...thats all we really know, oh and that past game downloads, again..pathetic, what they havent said is service charges for them games! which i guarentee wont be for free! some snes game fetch over $100! and to be honest, id rather play my snes versions, i still enjoy them so why not
teh ps3 controller....well...sonys only downfall imo! i can really see them 1 year, maybe less being forced to bring out the classic dualshock controller, even though theyve had legal issuses over them recently! its all those dam peopel saying its boring now, how sily, its old but them controllers were the best in history!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the lawsuit thing was over the technology within the controller, the motors and the way they were used. Not sure though so don't take this as fact.
As for a controllers overall design (look wise) it's very hard to copyright something like that. Though, I'd say one thing they need for the need Dual Shock.
1. Wider/bigger controller - The ones they've got now are a bit on the smallish side. Just another inch or two bigger in width would actually be perfect, space out the buttons a little more. But, I'm saying this as someone who uses 3rd party controllers (I have slight joint arthritis so I need a bigger controller or else my knuckles/finger joints will lock into place. It's fun)
RPG's from the east indeed would help a bit on the warmer welcome air. But otherwise, just having some japanese RPG's aren't going to get an American made system more sales over there. Sony is a Japanese, trusted, brand. Period.
Microsoft right now is nothing more than a poser. And besides, American gamers do have different tastes/styles of games they like. Some games that are ported here from there are harder once ported. And sometimes, vice versa. It depends on the games.
For the most part, the Japanese, are more interested in graphics and technology, mostly because they are a technological society. But, just this alone won't promise a systems success.

Two things I hate (which they fixed) with the xbox controller. Where the white and black buttons are! And also, where the start and back buttons are
Nes controller was before my arthritis even hit so I had no problems with it. God you should see me on a winter day. If I have no heat around me, my fingers will lock up. It hurts.
Jester, good to see ya back! Atleast, until thurs anyway =)
Busies than a dog man.4 website's in developement, 2 of which are personal, the other two are for profit (well, 1 is guaranteed, the other is a hope). So my fingers are going 90 miles an hour every day. =)
