RP Tournament Sign-up (Updated 19-12-05), All entries deleted. Please Re-register

Now a bit of explanation:

The rp tournament is an rp in itself. There will be two threads.One where the actual tournament matches will be held, and another where those who are not partcipating, those who have been eliminated, or those awaiting thier match may rp freely without wait and interact with other rpers in the enviornment.


The rules above are simple to understand.If you are familiar with the rp terms such as God Modding, or Meta-Gaming, please read this:RP Terms
As for the last rule,if you're character is not God Modded he should have limits and weaknesses just like all of us do.Regular rules apply also.

Such as spamming.All questions should be asked here.
Anyone breaking these rules will be quickly reported to an admin and or moderator.

There are several areas in the rp wihch you can travel.The rp is on Earth so feel free to travel to other places as long as you are not late for your match. (:

But the areas inside the tournament grounds are where prizes and awards can be won.Which will be given out at the end of the tourny.
I will update with pictures as soon as possible.


Tournament Arena

A large arena with an opening in the center.The sands of the grounds are centered around a large stone pillar where the opponents meet.Over top is the sky, where the weather can affect the grounds.All of this is surrounded by the seats where the crowd is to be seated.This is the only time when other RPer's not in a match may post in the thread.So readers do not get confused please have a different font for crowd and battle.The Doors on either side of the pillar lead out into the basement and up into the lobby.

Tournament Grounds

Trees,flowers,and grass as far the human eye can see.The lovely Nia will be out here awaiting sign-ups infront of the entrance doors.Further out from her desk is the forest and it's wild-life.Interaction with an RP's NPCs isn't always an easy thing to do.
Unofficial battles can be held here.But remember, those injured can not heal instantly unless there is some type magic or item you use.These items must have some limitry.
As the last rule states adhear to the rules of reality, a bullet in the hand does not heal over night.

Tournament Stores and Gift-Shops

A nice little addition to make the rp more realistic.As there are people.There is money.And you are welcome to open a shop or go to one yourself.Several of the shops sell things you can actually buy for the tournament, such as potions,armor,ect.

There are also shops which will sell things you can buy in real life or download for listening pleasure,by clicking the item and taking you to the cafepress or ocremix link, such as emopotter mugs or Sailor Moon Rave.Yay plugs?

And other shops where you can get little doo-dads for here on the forums, like forum member plushies.
All stores will be closed until Wednesday I'm afraid.No prizes here but you can still get stuff.^^




Tournament Dance-Floor


There's not alot of RP's with dancing in it.We do it alot in real life.It's not too easy to express speed,movement, and emotion in text at once.Which is why there is a dance floor on the second floor.Inside the room the lights are dim and tinted foe the mood of the song,which are usually from DDR games.It's a pretty big room so feel free to move in groups.Hopefully there won't be too many people afraid to try and the room will be full.

Tournament Karaoke Room

Another thing I don't see too much in RPs is singing.Actions and appearances can be painted into a readers mind easily with a bit of common sense and precision with words.

But singing is an art in itself like rping.To be able to display the way words from a characters lips in text rise and drop in song and make the audience feel what you feel isn't going to be piece of cake.Bu if you've got the skill show us how it's done.

~Prize:I'll have to think of one later XP.When the contest is annouced,lift every voice and sing if you want one for yourself. =)

-I like the idea but do you? If you've got one better let's hear it.



Tournament Hotsprings


Haha.Another one of those little touches I added to make sure there's always something to do.Help your character relieve a little stress by taking(Or watching someone >_>) a nice long dip in tourny's hotsprings.Or just meditating near the warm steams.

They're located just outside of the arena so on rare occasions opponents might fly in.The male and female sides are divided by a wooden fence.No weapons allowed.

No prizes to be won here either,but I guess if your characters can compete over something inside the rp that'd be fine.o-o


Tournament Bar and Casino

This will be quite interesting to see.Have a drink or two.Once again the last rule comes into play.The slot machines are all rigged so your character can attempt if he's the gambling (or cheating) type.Remember though, no metagaming. But the tables are where the real fun is at.

Play against NPC's for money at roulette and dice tables.Or play foosball against your friends. Only through beating the house at poker however can you win the prize.

This however will be done over msn against yours truly and re-enacted here for prize.Over MSN or YIM we must stay in character.If you don't have my address and you are partcipating in this event pm me for it.

Tournament Cafeteria

Most likely if your character is hungry they'll go out somewhere like McDonalds, or to a shop to buy pocky.But if they haven't got the time or energy,why not stop here?Food selection is very narrow but,atleast it's a free space.Maybe to talk to an opponent before a match?Or treat a friend to some cheap square pizza? xD No prizes for j00 here.But if you play your cards right your character can win the heart of the lunch lady with the moustache. ;D

Ahhh...spotted this little note huh? Just a secret little prize you can win anywhere.Rping seriously is always cool.Making someone's heart beat at the excitement flooding there mind as they read in awe at the amazing battle going on in the rp is what I expect here.

But, there are very few moments in RP's where a person just says something so hillarious you actually fall out of chair and roffel.

Combining the two is something I think even anime writers have trouble with.
And with my weird tastes and the other judges being weird themselfs, making us laugh out loud at all will be pretty difficult.

Manage it, and the secret prize is yours.Whenever I figure out what it's gonna be I'll let you know. XP



Last but not least let me say this:

Roleplaying is an art. A talent. The ability to paint the images and emotion of a created character from scratch, into the minds of those joining you in an enviornment created from pure imagination is no easy task.

But the main goal of rping is simply this:To have fun. Not to prove who's the best, or who's superior to who.Or who's advanced and who's a n00b.

There has been alot of controversy over the subject of rping this year.Including the creation and exclusive invitations into the Lextallionis.The rp trainning thread.The thumbs down on some rps.And even the creation of a single thread in the advanced section.

It got really bad at times but we eventually, resolved each situation like the mature and intelegent beings we are.And I don't know if anyone else noticed but the fact that everyone went so over the top proves something.

How much we love to rp.I mean if we really didn't care we'd let alot of that crap pass right? That's a passion.But I'd expect no less than a love for something this fun.^^

So please remember to have fun in the tournament and don't go crazy if you don't get a prize or award.Kay?

Okay, I probably wont do any fighting, but the other competitions sound pretty cool so, here it goes.

Age: 18
Sex: Female
Appearance: Red Hair, Green Eyes, around 5'4", 125lbs. Wears a white skirt, short length with a shiny green long sleeve shirt, white gloves and green knee high boots. White ribbons are braided in her hair to make a crown of braids.
Accessories: Ragnarok, Black Lore, Tetra bracelet. and the white ribbons in her hair.
Weapon(s): Microphone
Attacks: (Optional but recommended)
Magic: (Optional but recommended) Darkness Dance, Sleepy Samba, and Slow Dance.

Bio: Tink was born in Besaid, she has been a performer since a small child. Always singing wherever she went. When she became older she left to live in Bevelle. She is very good and has a passion for Romance. Most of the songs she sings are about love or tragic loss, or dreams. Wonderful dreams. She is also very pretty, and though she has had many offers, she is in love with a dream. There is one person out there for her and she will settle for no one else. She just has to find him.
Personality: A hopeless romantic, independent, likes to talk, and can't help but be good.

Appearance: Thick black hair, dull gray eyes, 5'9", 177lbs. He has very baggy black pants with white stitches that drag on the ground. He has a plain dark gray t-shirt with black gloves and black boots that are concealed by his pant legs. There is a black belt around his waist to hold his pants up and is attached to a very large holster for his gun.
Accessories: Tetra elemental
Weapon(s): A 24" pump-action sporting shotgun held in his holster(yeah, i know shotguns aren't held in holsters)

Magic: He is proficient, yet not very powerful, with all black magic.

Bio: Namick appears to be gloomy and even gothic, but he is actually very lively. Although he sometimes finds it fun to go along with peoples presumtions and acts very gloomy. He often trips over his very long pants, which can be very annoying in a very active battle. He comes from no place imparticular and has come to the tournament for money and to maybe find a special someone.
Personality: Jokester, Sympathetic, Happy-go-lucky, and sometimes gloomy to fool others for fun

Appearance: Ethrona
Sonox Frederic Simonson is a very small boy. He's around 156 centimeters high and weighs around 45 kilograms. He has the most beautyful brown eyes. His skin is brown and he has very wide shoulders. His hair is quite long (not like a girl) and is 142 cetimeters. The girls just love him... Hihi.
But most the important thing is... that he loves the colour blue. He wears a "metal jean" that have 2 belts looped on it and a "Half demon skirt" and a t-shirt and has a 3 meter long "mummyfied" sword, placed on his back.

Bio: I woke up a morning, because of a strange noise outside the boys bedroom, like something very heavy rubbing a brick floor. - Tyson wake up, something is wrong outside. Of couse Tyson woke up. I felt like...uncomfortable...afraid. I looked out the window, and saw...something. Maybe a Deathclimber. Yes, it was a Deathclimber... First it did'nt look at me, but I could feel that it knowed I was there.
For around 10 years ago my dad tould me about the Deathclimber. It looked like a... ghost. Like dark fog. Then i heard a big noise. I fell, and fell, and fell... Then totally silence, silence...

So you guys know...where it says "Participation in Tournament:..." that just means if your going to be in the fighting tournament so it's a yes or no question.

Appearance: Rikku dresses a lot more casually. Everyone's in some uniform or dress..but not her! The most interesting thing about Rikku is probably her hair style. Not only is her hair a bright blond, but it's tied up in a very unique manner. Her hair sticks out and at the bottom of her head are two braids with feathers at the end. (See siggy ^-^)

Bio: Rikku is a very open, Al Bhed, opinionated girl who isn't afraid to tell everyone how she really feels. Her attitude usually remains playful and very cheery, however she becomes serious and protective when her loved ones are in trouble. Although most of her character traits would lead you to believe that she is a very idealistic and dreamfilled girl, she is the complete opposite. Though she is optimistic, she remains very pragmatic.

Accessories: leather glove that she wears only when holding her pet falcon, Gash, golden bird cage

Bio: Serina was going to school to be a trainer. she was nearly thru with her studies. She had lived with her parents until one night she came in at 2 o'clock after a date with her boyfriend. that night she had a terrible fight with her parents. In the middle of the night she ran away. She has lived on her own for 2 years, living in a town close to where the battle will be held. She heard about it and decided to watch. maybe even get to talk to some of the people who will battle. who knows what will happen?
personality-she is very sneaky, sly, and quiet. (for a little while she had been forced to become a thief, but now has found other means of getting food and material things.) she isn't the quiet type of girl who stands off in a corner, tho. she does talk to people. looks to be a bit older than she really is, she loves to ask questions. Also, Serina has a way of knowing what people think, want, or sometimes feel. she hasn't a clue as to why or how she knows this.

Right. We need one more for the tournament..it will be a small one but it's all I can do for now.
