Ok, our first Tournament here at the RP section of SD.

Basically, we wont be having an rp, or any PVP battles, but well be having a tournament were we all (not me, im judging) write a short story, this shoudnt be too long, or go into a massive amount of depth, but should show your creative talents, and ofcourse origanality!

here are teh rules, which to be honest...are not exactly rules, more so guidelines to consider

1. No larger than 1000 characters
2. Please try to put into paragraphs, i hate reading through a big bulk of text
3. You can base your storys form a game, but thats not too creative
3. No cursing, or un reasonable amounts of rule violations

thats all, the winner gets a 50 post increase, and a small 88x32 button to put in there sig if they wish that will say there teh winner of this tournament, or i may open a section where peopel can place there rewards, to save sig space.

it can have a cliff hanger style ending yes, and it can be any length, aslong as it doesnt go over 1000 characters. thats letters!

edit: decided to delete wat i wrote b4 coz i realised the answer was above. neway, i just wanna no if the short story can b about ne one at all. i mean like a made up character.
i find it a bit hard to show alotta creativity in 1000 words but we'll how it goes...

It's not 1000 words it's 1000 letters. Characters means letters. Oh and I'm not that good at short stories so I'll just read them. ^_^ <cloud

khse, do you mean your rp registration? if so, you can enter this without that! all thats for is making it official that you have a character in the rp's we will play through, these style of tournaments are open to anyway who is a forum member! after this event, i may start a tournament where we have a max of 10 pages for the rp, and we must make sure we have a full story done, and ill add events which must be included in the story at some time, the way to win, is simple...youl havae to compete with every other particpent to have the most entries in that rp! simple really! so it should be close, 10 pages is enough time to span across a few days,giving people time to have posting periods where the others are not online! its 15 posts per page, so 150 posts itl be! with everyone racing to have the most...itl be fun i think!

ok, i'm not really sure if i was meant to pm my story or not but i'll post it. just a warning, it's not very good. probably would've dun beta if the limit wasn't so low. i found it hard to make it 1000 characters so it's 1156 characters, i think. So, here it is:

‘Death was nothing anyone wanted…but it was what they got. The people everywhere live on like nothing ever happened. They act as though the past was some kind of myth…as though the many sacrifices that had been made for them had never actually happened.’ Raq thought to himself as he watched from a mountain, yet another ignorant town go about their business.

All of the townsfolk talked happily amongst each other and it made him sick. The many deaths of his comrades in battle would not be acknowledged or even taken seriously!

‘….I guess….I will have to cleanse this town as well….until everyone learns of the pain I went through! The world must mourn with me on the loss of all warriors who fought so valiantly!’ Raq yelled as he charged, his sword drawn.

The townsfolk noticed nothing until the first blood was drawn. No one would be left to stand. No one would be left to regret their mistake. People ran but there was no real place to run to. The town had no weapons or defenses besides the mountains that surrounded it. Now, it would seem, those mountains would become their open grave. Men, women, children, dogs....they were all slain by Raq’s single blade. Red stained every wall.

Now, the village was quiet. No more cheer for the ignorant. Another town cleansed. Raq stood in the middle of the dead town. Head drooped. Blade stained once again. He looked up to the heavens.

“Know my pain!!!”

Yeah, I asked about that and Nitro never answered.

Chapter 1 Sad Farewells and the Surprise


Part one:

Nothing could be seen on Phillips Street. Not a sound was heard. It was a quiet night, except maybe for the occasional cat meowing or a car passing through the puddles that so suddenly appeared. Almost as sudden as the rain.
The rain had stopped but it was still dark overhead of house number 128 that evening. If you would have been staring through the window you would have been able to make out two figures packing a small azure bag.
“It is what we have to do” Mr. Bill Hughes said.
“But she’s my baby! I can’t just leave her on a doorstep somewhere and hope they take good care of her.”, she replied.
Bill reached for her hand and said, “I’m sorry Monica but she’d be more safe anywhere than here. They could come here any minute and take her. You know that.”, after telling her this he let go of her hand and started adding more things to the bag.
She felt that she could argue no more, sighed and went to get Jenny out of her crib. While walking past all of the doors she started remembering all of the memories that they were filled with. Tears started to stream down her face but she wiped them away trying to be strong. She entered the baby’s room and got her out of the crib. She rocked her for a bit , then she continued out to the car.
Bill was already in the driver’s seat when she came out. The car was started and everything was packed. She turned around one more time to take a good look at the house that they were leaving forever then quickly got in the car and shut the door.

Part 2:

The trio had left the house and had been driving for nearly twenty minutes before the rain started again. This time it made a different sound as it hit the car windows. The puddles were back again and as Monica was watching the car’s reflection in each one she saw a small diner. It was almost time for dinner so she pointed at it and yelled, “ Stop! ”. Bill turned around and pulled in.
They knew that this would be their last meal as a family so they let the food sit in their mouths so that they would never forget the taste. Monica picked up Jenny and once she saw her beautiful blue eyes, she started crying and put her down again. With a look from the waitress Bill waved ( trying to look unsuspicious ) and looked down at his plate.
Monica made her way to the bathroom. She went in the last stall so she could look out the window. Once she locked the door she grabbed a few pieces of toilet paper and sat down. She could hear the clock outside signal the start of a new hour so she got up and left the bathroom.
Too sick to finish their food ( except for Jenny of course ) they left a tip and got up to leave. Bill led the way to the car and opened the door for his crying wife.
“ Bi-bill. Wh-where are we going? ”, she managed after a moment or two of trying.
“ A town up north ”, he said gesturing in a northern direction. “ About a two or three hour drive .”
He started the car and left the diner. The waitress that had looked over at them before watched them until they went up a hill and disappeared.



Was that good enough? Also, next time can i just continue this story instead of making a new one?

that was good, and its about right in length.

There he was standing there looking into the sun as the light shined off his deep blue sea eyes with his glossy black hair moving in the wind as he hears someone say "draw your sword" in a deep and crackly voice then all of a sudden he hears a wooshing sound as a bright silver dagger flys past his head

then as he turns around he sees a large stocky man with a golden tooth and a bright gold ear ring on his left ear with a huge cleaver flying at him...yelling the word "die" as a chunk of saliva flies out of his mouth. He quickly grabbed his two katanas and started in a furios battle against the horrid man the man gets slashed by one of his katanas as it ripped though his meat and flesh.

The man yelled in pain as he fell to the ground making a thudding noise. The man got back up drew out his other cleaver and hurled it at him, as the cleaver was spinning in the sun light it created a strong bright white light which blinded the boy then all he could feel was a sharp pain in his leg.

As he opened his eyes he saw a massive cleaver inserted in his leg the boy fell to the ground and ripped it out. The man walked over then all of a sudden the boy laughed, the man was shocked as the boy stood up and rose his sword....


the end what a shit story that took like 15 mins

eh, i don't really mind. it's beta to hav more than 2 ppl in a competition lol. i guess it doesn't matter as long as a winner hasn't been decided yet.

Well, its the 11th, so any entries that didnt make it in..im afraid has lost and wont be a part of the comp! (black rose, where she go?) anyway, ill be going over the entires today, and should get a winner decided too.

Around what time? I'm getting a little nervous....

Tis a sad story. A line was down somewhere so the internet in my area has been off since Thursday. I didn't get the story finished but I wouldn't have been able to post it anyway. The internet is back on though, so I'll be on for awhile now. I'll just have to enter it in the next tournament.
