I know I asked this before (could'nt find it though) but I have been looking for pretty lace trimmed fullslips in the UK but where are they all?
Tried e-bay uk (e-bay USA has plenty) M&S, BHS (nice lace trimmed half slips) and some Charity/Thrift shops (found a pretty Charnos lace trimmed fullslip as new for £2.50!)
On e-bay uk they all seem to have been bought by Slipland who want £30 for a good one which is too much as I need them for a theatre Group who are putting on some period plays next year and I said I would help out. They have found plenty of Vintage clothing at Charity Shops but apart from the one slip have'nt found any others.
Are pretty lace trimmed fullslips becoming that rare?

Success at last.
Bought four size 10/12 lace trimmed fullslips for the Theatre Group off E-Bay after a few bids but only paid around an average of £7 per slip.

Interestingly also was outbid(again) on a new pink lace trimmed fullslip size 14 which would have been a Christmas present for the wife. It went for nearly £30.
This is the second time and seems size 14 (uk) seems very popular. I really must learn from this and be prepared to bid over £30 next time.
Who are these women who are buying these pretty size 14(uk) fullslips?

Young ladies probably with a fuller figure, wanting to wear the fashions of the 1930's, 1940's, 1950', 1960's and also the 1970's.

There is more of these type of ladies about now if you look through some of the fashion groups on Flickr.

It is great to see them.

There is no logic to slip prices.
Bid for a brand new black size 14 lace trimmed Charnos nylon fullslip on e-bay as a Christmas present for the wife and paid £6.50 !!!

Also before handing over the four size 10/12 Charnos nylon fullslips to the Theatre group I hung them on hangers with the sunlight shining through them to have a last look. Boy, were they things of beauty, so soft sheer and feminine in pretty pastel colours with lots of lace trim......any woman/girl who wears these items must feel so good....certainly made me feel good...........

PS: What ever happened to that great British manufacturer...Charnos??

Thanks for the links to sites but all these slips are just sooo plain!
As the "other Frank" says where are all the lace trimmed pretty slips apart from, what is on e-bay.
Why cannot manufacturers make a pretty slip anymore, probably (for the UK anyway) they are all made in the "cheap labour" countries and the USA and Japan seem to be the only place to buy a lacey slip now.
UK used to have a manufacturing base for underwear and outer clothing but it seems no more!

I think the problem is that demand for lace on slips has ceased which is why the slips are so plain.

Yeah, I agree with Robbie's observation, but paradoxically, why are women so much happier ostentationously showing the top of a lacy camisole above a T shirt or blouse? - just look at the number of TV presenters who do this. Seems that slips are no go for lace any more, at least for some obscure female psychological reason anyway, or maybe its just down to slavish adherence to the muppets who dictate what they should wear. Don't think that I've ever really understood the female psyche, even though I'm in love with one.

Hey Oldtimer... I must be an oldtimer too... The manufacturers must be pandering to what sells.. and clearly the liberated woman no longers feels the need to appeal to men. In fact it's quite fashionable to appeal to other woman... Geeez... what a world
