The topic of "reaching up and showing" has been covered before, but I wore a lovely dress and slip outfit last weekend which I hope is noteworthy. Let me elaborate...

My favourite white half slip, you know the one with the pretty 6 inch lace trim was worn with a deep purple, button through, jersey dress. The slip length was perfect! (Depending on your point of view that is!) Yes, you've guessed, 4 inches longer than the dress when worn on my waist.
I was part way through hanging the christmas decorations on the tree and around the house when my Sis-in-law arrived with cards and prezzies. She immediately complimented me on my outfit, and with her eyes and facial expression to follow said, "Wow, so like your underskirt [slip] sexy!!! I replied, "Awww thanks" I said I was wearing it on the waist, so not all of the lace was visible. I turned around and walked into the kitchen to put some coffee on, and she said, "Well I can see ALL of the lace and MORE showing at the back!!" I thought, oh well, never mind. We sat, had coffee and chatted for ages. Returning to putting the christmas decorations up, my Sis-in-law, now in the festive spirit, kindly lent me a hand. Reaching high on tippie-toes to place the decorations in the desired places, my dress hem was riding up at times at least a further 6 inches. Sis-in-law said, "You've got absolutely loads of slip hanging out when your reaching up high". I said, "Really!!!??? How much???". Explaining, by using her index finger on both hands she said, "About that much, (at least a foot or more). We finished off, and all looks wonderful and christmassy. I might wear this outfit over the holiday period, I'm sure hubby will approve! LOL!

One other point if I may. I noticed there have been some worthy entries removed from this excellent forum. It has also been very quiet here. Is everything OK?

Best wishes :)

Keep up the good work, Lesley.

There's a lot of debate about whether slips should show or not............"Keep them for the bedroom"..."looks slovenly & tacky" etc. etc. My own view is that if a woman deliberately shows her slip, then she is aware of her seductive power and will try and display it, like you, in the most alluring way possible. Otherwise, how would we ever get any slip sightings?

This can be contrasted with the tired looking slip which is hanging assymetrically below the hem of an equally tired skirt; this is nearly as bad as viewing a horrid frayed skirt lining. The wearer is unaware that it is even showing and this type of display justifiably attracts criticism.

Maybe other members will disagree but, hey, isn't that what this forum's about?...

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to make this interesting post Lesley.
It has been a bit quiet here recently.Been abroad working myself,so not had a chance to contribute much myself either.
Let's hope it livens up here in the new year.

Quick update. I mentioned that I might wear this same outfit over the Christmas period. Well I did, and chose the very same slip and dress for the Work's christmas party at the office.

Well, did I turn heads or what!!!

I got loads of compliments from the ladies and quite a few wolf whistles from the guys, especially when reaching up and showing tons...

More another day about the party maybe....

What harm could there be in simply seeing an image of the slip.

An occasion last week reminded me of this "Reaching Up" article. But before I continue, I can't believe that almost a year has passed since. How time flies.

Last Friday, was a friend and colleagues' last working day before her retirement. For the office that day, I'd decided to wear the same purple jersey dress and lacey white half slip (as in the thread of the article mentioned previous) along with almost matching colour purple lace top hold-ups I'd bought recently and white heels to match my slip. My slip was showing about 4 or 5 inches or so as before.
We'd decided to start work early to get as much done before her presentation and buffet. I'd made some iced cup cakes the day before, other people were taking goodies and nibbles in. My coat covered my slip, so the journey to work would be ok. It is a fair walk across the car parks, hand bag on one shoulder, shopping bag on the other, and along with the tupperware container, my hands were full. By the time I reached the office, I had noticed my slip peaking a couple of inches below my coat! Oops.

Saying Hi to the others, I took my coat off and I had about 9 inches on show! It had dropped down on to my hips, so I carefully pulled it up so that only the 6 inch lace hem was showing. I got a load of compliments, "Love your slip", "I like the way you've matched the shoes and slip", "Wow that dress and slip combi looks wonderful" As it was month-end there was the usual extra filing to do, so I spent my time split between my office and the large main office. I got a few wolf whistles when I went into the main office which is where the files are. I had a lot of reaching up and bending over to do. By mid-morning my slip had dropped down on to my hips, again showing about 9 inches or so, but we wanted to get as much work done before the presentation and buffet, so we just pressed on.

A friend of mine overheard a hushed conversation some fellas were having in the tea room. Their conversation went......

"Have you seeeeen Lesley today!?" "Yes, she's wearing one of her lace slips again" "Absolute cracker!" "But have you seen how much!?" "Yes, we were watching her doing that filing and stacking those high shelves, well over a foot on show!!!" "Absolutely stunning!" "Couldn't you just.........."

During the presentation buffet, the usual small talk followed. One fella whispered, "It's snowing down south" He'd been dared to say that, so I kindly replied with a smile, "I know, hope you're ok with that." He just winked and smiled.

Back in my office and with my slip still on my hips, I asked my friend who had heard the tea room gossip whether I really was showing that much? I obliged by touching a high shelf. She said, "They were right!" We giggled. Oooopps.

I to never let a skirts hemline go without a notice. Always search for that hint of lace that may be there. It' has been a long time since I've had the pleasure of seeing some slip showing but I always appreciate it when it appears. Thanks for sharing your experinace.
