Why I want to be a Sith.

The Sith Code tells us that the order is built off of passion. Throughout my life, I’ve been told that I was the passionate one. I wear my emotions on my sleeve and they have driven much of my life, but there is so much more that can be built off of them. By learning to harness my emotions, I can gain strength and victory over those that try to push me down.

I want to learn more about the Sith. Throughout much of my readings, there hasn’t been a focus on the Sith, but since the Darth Bane novel I have become very intrigued and have gotten my hands on as much Sith stuff as possible. The Legacy Sith have also helped sparked an interest for me. I love the idea of the Sith coming back and in such a huge quantity like that. It never made sense to me that the Sith were supposed to be all destroyed. If the Jedi survived Order 66, the Sith surely can still exist. So I want to become a Sith so that I can learn more about the Sith.

To be part of an order of people who use their strengths to gain power is where I belong. I’ve aspired to be something greater than just myself. An order is important though, and I believe in personal power only to the point of it being best for the order. We are stronger as a united front.

I am here to learn, Master.

Sith and Jedi Code – Describe each and compare the differences.

Jedi Code:

There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.

Sith Code:

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.

In the Jedi code the refuse to allow for emotions and passion which fuel the Sith. They show weakness in ignoring human nature. The Jedi desire for calm and selfless purposes. The Sith code is about breaking out of the humanness and gaining power over others.

The Sith code is about bettering oneself though using what is available to you. The Jedi code seems to suppress everything that is natural in order to achieve peace. But at what cost to yourself? Every cost.

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.

Peace doesn't exist and there is nothing that it can be used for. However, passion is something useful.

Through passion, I gain strength.

Through use of passion, I can become stronger. I must use my passion to further myself in the Sith order.

Through strength, I gain power.

With this strength, I can advance within the Sith Order. I can have power over people if I am stronger than they are.

Through power, I gain victory

With power, I can beat my enemies and gain more power.

Through victory, my chains are broken.

With more victories I can become a true user of the Force. Bending it to my will, instead of me to its will.

The Force shall free me

And through use of the force to my own will, I shall be free of the galaxy's oppression.

You said that Peace doesn't exist and there is nothing it can be used for. I would have to disagree. There has been many Sith that have preserved the peace for a time. Not in the way the pitiful Jedi view as peace for their peace has never been such. Im talking about the Sith who brought Order to the galaxy with a strong fist thus bringing peace. Using fear to control the rest of the galaxy, peace can be achieved.

Your next task is to write an essay on your favorite Sith? Give a bio including name, homeworld & era.

I expect a decent bio of no less than 500 words. I will give no time limit on this since the Christmas is just around the corner.

Darth Nihilus was part of a triumvirate of Sith Lords during the Old Republic Era. His origin is unclear, but Darth Nihilus first appeared as such on Malachor V. He played a role in the Mandalorian roles and is thought to have been a Jedi at one point before turning to the true way, the Sith. He trained under Darth Traya at the same time as Darth Sion; the three of them becoming the Sith Triumvirate. It is here that Darth Nihilus earned the title of Lord of Hunger.

Lord of Hunger came from feeding upon the force. This is why Darth Nihilus intrigures me. He literally fed off of force sensitives. He ate entire planets of people and Jedi through the force. This is an amazingly strong power through the force, but it did come with a great price. Nihilus was described as a “wound” in the force, but I see it as more of a black hole. The force powers he usurped made him stronger for a time and then dissipated within the force. It was almost as if he were a conduit for the force to bring some sort of balance. This in itself isn’t Sithly, but the ways in which he used it were: Mass destruction of planets and people.

Nihilus believed in this power too much, it was his undoing. His apprentice, Visas, failed him and was defeated by Exile who then used Visas to her own gain, Nihilus’ death. Nihilus had created a fortress in Freedon Nadd’s tomb, hoping to feed off of the dark energy there. Exile and Visas moved to confront Nihilus and this is where Nihilus’ faith in his powers was his downfall. He tried to consume Exile, but Exile had severed ties to the Force so Nihilus was vulnerable after the effort extended to consume Exile. He was defeated by his old apprentice, Exile and another. His body dissolved and the Sith fleet was destroyed by the Republic.

Before his death, Nihilus made a holocron that wasn’t found until many many years later when it came into the hands of Darth Krayt. He spoke in an ancient language that Krayt didn’t understand, but given the responses from Andeddu and Bane, his take on Krayt probably wasn’t complimentary.

Darth Nihilus wore long black Sith robes and a white skull-shaped mask with red marks on it. It was said that the mask helped channel the force. His goals were solely his own, more power, more force consumption. This let him be the enemy of the Jedi and it is unknown if he would have turned these powers on the Sith if he had run out of Jedi to consume. He had a red blade and was an aggressive one handed fighter, but tended to fight with the force consumption instead. He used the force to lift starships, thus allowing himself to escape from certain death on Malachaor V.

In the end, Nihilus escaped death. He put his consciousness into his armour and thus lived one through his armour. A truly hideous Sith Lord who fascinates me.

Thats true he was quite unique from other Sith Lords. Pure hunger that manifested within the force, Very powerful indeed. Though i never felt that as a Sith his goal of consuming everything was a way to be go about it. Yes it brought intimidation as well as destruction, but in the end what would be left if he was able to destroy everything. To me there was no real purpose for it. Tis a different view of a Sith as not all of us agree. Very well done my apprentice.

Korriban - one of the most noted Sith Worlds, origin of the Sith species. Korriban was used to house the Star Map, about which the tomb of Naga Sadow exists. Abandoned for a time for the planet of Ziost, Korriban was resettled in 3,993 BBY Darth Revan and Darth Malak rediscovered the Star Map, but with the fall of Darth Malak at the hands of Revan, the planet once again became barren. Darth Bane studied here years later, as a new Sith academy was built, but with the end of Bane came the end of Korriban again. Darth Sidious paid a visit to the planet around 11 ABY, but didn't use it as a staging point for the Sith. The New Sith Order, under Darth Krayt use it as their headquarters and have for over 100 years without anyone knowing.

Ziost - another planet that was a focal point for the darkside, this planet unlike Korriban who was desolate, was full of forests. The Sith species fled from Korriban to here after a war. Largely forgotten after Bane's Sith, the planet was visited by some famous people over the years. Lumiya found records that enabled her to build her coveted Lightwhip and possibly trained some apprentices on this planet. Zekk made a stop here while looking for Bornan Thul. Ben Skywalker was sent to Ziost as a test, and he was almost controlled by the dark power there. He discovered a Sith Ship and used it to leave the system unharmed.

Onderon - conquered by Freedon Nadd in 4,400 BBY it was established as a Sith cult planet. The Naddist cult was able to remain in power until the Jedi interfered in the Beast wars, which turned the planet over to them. The Onderon Civil War was fought between forces allied with Darth Nihilus and those of Jedi Exile. Jedi Exile's forces were able to win. Darth Bane was on Onderon at some point, but didn't appear to use it as his base of operations. Darth Sidious' clone also used Onderon, but met its death there.

Yes those worlds are quite pivotal in Sith History. They are among the most significant because they were used as bases of training as well as fighting wars.

Next task for you my apprentice is to write out all the Sith Rule Structures –Name them and describe strengths and weaknesses of each.

Sith Rule Structures:

Brotherhood of the Sith - created by Exar Kun. This established a Sith training ground on Yavin IV. Kun didn't actually care about the idea of a brotherhood though, instead he only cared about destroying the Jedi. He tricked the followers into being dark by smashing a holocron and infusing the darkside in them.

New Sith Empire - around the same time there was another Sith academy on Korriban. Led by Revan and Malek. Many Sith were trained within the academy and sent on missions around the galaxy. This Empire had a hold on much of the galaxy at the time with fleets, governors, and armies. Betrayal eventually was the downfall of this Empire as Revan turned back to the Jedi.

Triumvirate - Traya, Nhilus, and Scion formed one to rule the Sith. In principle this idea of structure seems the best. Decisions are made between three leaders, no one person can put forth their own agenda. Of course, with the Sith, it tends to all be about personal gain, and ultimately two turned against the third, killing her. This led to the downfall of the Sith during that time period as the structure fell apart.

Rule of Two - Darth Bane instituted this rule for structuring the Sith. It is also a good idea in principle, but is risky. If both are killed, the Sith die with them, as shown by Vader/Sidious for many many years. Luckily this was never followed to the letter. Sidious had a few dark users who trained with him besides his apprentice Vader. Vader also had some dark users who trained with him. So the Sith teachings lived on. Under this structure, Sidious came the closest to destroying the Jedi.

Sith Order - Darth Krayt has spent many many years building up the Sith in secret. He kept them in waiting in order to build up the strength and numbers of the empire. This tactic also seems very effective. The Sith are primarily concerned about what is best for the Order and not themselves so in the end everyone wins and the Jedi will be destroyed. This idea does have weaknesses as people will want personal gain in the order but for the most part we've seen only cooperation and much destruction of the Jedi.

Excellent work my apprentice. I know you have watched your Sith brothers pass you up and be promoted above you before your very eyes. Does that make you angry?

It should for you should be up their too. The only way to that goal is to work harder. The darkside is strong in you, You must embrace it fully to reach any goals that you desire.

Until then your next task is What is The Darkside Compendium – Who wrote it? What does it consists of? Give a description of each one.

Yes, Master. I loathe the others and their success.

The Dark Side Compendium was written by Darth Sidious. He wanted to have many volumes, but only 2 and a half were completed before his death.

The three volumes are:
The Book of Anger
The Weakness of Inferiors
The Creation of Monsters

The Book of Anger is about surrendering to the Dark Side. Discussed how to use your emotions and anger to gain control over the will of the force. Anger is something that can go out of control though, so intelligence must also be used, lest the anger consume you and you become worthless to control the force. Intelligence plus anger can allow one to cause destruction from afar.

The Weakness of Inferiors discusses the secrets of control without violence over the weak, mainly telling of ways to persuade using the force. It covered four main topics: All power comes from outside the weak, the face of authority, the law of fear, and the weak do not understand the Force.

The Creation of Monsters was the last, half completed book, and it covered the mastery of Sith Alchemy, how to create Imperial sentinels, and chrysalide (A sith creature that could chew through metal). Sith Alchemy is used for mutating creatures with the force or to enhance weapons.

Good work on your task, Pity Sidious didn't get to complete all the volumes.

Now the next task is Explain the differences between Dark Jedi and Sith.

Sith refers to an ideology or cult thinking, whereas Dark Jedi refers to someone who uses the dark side powers but aren't members of any organization. The Sith have a code, a brotherhood with fellow Sith even from past generations. The Dark Jedi don't have this, they merely have lightsabers and use force abilities with the Dark Side of the force.

Some can be fallen Jedi, others possibly never knew the light side of the force. The Sith have secrets such as Sith Alchemy and what is found in Sidious' three volumes, however the Dark Jedi don't possess these secrets. The Sith were also limited to 2, a master and an apprentice for a long part of history. There still existed many dark side users or dark Jedi during this time and they didn't have restrictions.

Count Dooku once said the prime difference between Dark Jedi and Sith is the absence of fear in the Sith.

The Great Hyperspace War
Fought in 5,000 BBY when the Sith were accidentally discovered by two travelers who landed on Korriban. Sith Lord Marka Ragnos, had just died and two others were vying for leader of the Sith. Naga Sadow took a fleet to Khar Shian with the hopes of staging attacks on the Republic from there. Ludo Kressh, the other sith who wanted to lead, fought him there and was suppressed by Sadow's forces. Sadow then went on to make attacks on Republic planets while using Battle Meditation to enhance the Sith efforts. Eventually he was defeated and fled back to the Sith empire where once again, Kressh was waiting for him. He still managed to survive and fled to Yavin IV.

New Sith Wars
Fought from 2,000 to 1,000 BBY between the Jedi and Sith. The Sith lasted centuries under the rules of Darth Ruin and waged war throughout the galaxy, winning numerous battles. They managed to disrupt the Holonet and cause a dark time. This forced the Jedi to become more involved in running the Republic. A former Jedi Master, Lord Kaan, arose to form the Brotherhood of Darkness and continue to be a blight on the galaxy until the Battle of Ruusan where he employed a thought bomb, annihilating most of the Jedi and Sith on the planet. Darth Bane would come out of this battle with new Sith leadership and his Rule of Two philosophy.

Clone Wars
Fought in 22 BBY - 19 BBY the war was instigated by Darth Sidious and Count Dooku. Sidious, under the guise of a Senator Palpatine, was elected Chancellor of the Republic. From this he was able to start a war and get handed Supreme power over the Republic, abolishing the Senate soon after to be the Emperor. The Sith had finally taken over with Order 66 destroying most of the Jedi and the promising Jedi Anakin Skywalker's subsequent fall to turn into Darth Vader. Various dark assassins were utilized during this time as well. The Galactic Empire was born with the Sith ruling the galaxy.

I believe the goals of the Sith are total galaxy domination. I believe that the Sith can accomplish this by taking over the Senate in the EUC. The Sith are still alive in the apprentice tournament and have a good shot at winning it. I will do whatever is necessary to make sure the Sith control things. I have already done much by becoming a mod. dsid.gif

A major priority for the Sith should be to be as active as possible and to have a Sithly order. This will be accomplished by posting in the thread and in other threads around the EUC wherever it is appropriate. We must also keep recruiting more members in order for the Sith to grow and encompass all.
