Yeah i'm still working on the standing animation. The lower half is good but I might add one more frame to the lower half anyway.

Yeah, it'll look better when the speed is adjusted in the game. I just noticed his knee moves though... must've missed that.

I revised it, hopefully it looks good enough for the final standing animation.
It should run a little faster in the game.

I think it could actually run slower. Looks great, except the hand looks a little odd moving around so much. I found from trying to edit some animations that I'm horrible at hands laugh.gif

Tell me what you think, I came up with a new movelist for him. Things can always be changed or edited, but I decided we should leave him without a projectile (the football idea). These are just the names of the attacks for now, I'll post descriptions of my ideas later.

QUOTE (Standing)

s.CP - Headbutt
    - just a simple headbutt, doesn't have to be a generic headbutt or anything though
s.LP - Open Palm
    - like when football players use their hand to stop other places, but adapted to be a punch with his front hand
s.CK - Foot Stomp
    - remember juggernaut?
s.LK - Forward Shoulder
    - leans in forward with his shoulder like a football player would do
4+CP - Pushblock
    - uses his forearms like he would during a football game to "block" the other players, also adapted for fighting
6+LP - Low Palm
    - Like his Open Palm but with his back hand and aiming low
6+CK - Shin Kick
    - a kick to the shin, just because he's a football player doesn't mean he can't kick somehow


QUOTE (Crouching)

c.CP - Air Strike
    - Another attack similar to the Open Palm, only aiming up from a crouching position, meant to help take out opponent's jumping in
c.LP - Takeout Dive
    - a quick dive tackle from the crouching position
c.CK - Low Kick
    - a really simple, fast kick with probably the front leg
c.LK - Low Shoulder
    - like his Forward Shoulder only done while crouching (could this be copy/paste even?)
1+LK - Back Slide
    - ok, this one is a little odd for a standard from a football player, but come on... he's a fighter now, he has to have some other form of attack. from his crouching position he falls onto his back while sliding forward


QUOTE (Jumping)

j.CP - Ball Swipe
    - like when football players jump into the air to deflect a ball
j.LP - Air Tackle
    - picture a body slam
j.CK - Head Swing
    - some form of a headbutt, I had pictured him swinging his head from the background into the foreground
j.LK - Leap Kick
    - another really simple kick
2+LK (in air) - Ground Slam
    - this could probably just use the Air Tackle sprite, he "dives" down in a "body slam"

Throw - Ground Roll
    - Falls onto his side and rolls this way instead of a standard tackle so he can pop his opponent into the air
Dash Attack - Running Tackle
    - dives to tackle during a dash, could probably easily edit the Takeout Dive sprite

41236+P - Standing Smash
    - Could pretty much use the Dash Attack sprite, he runs forward and tackles his opponent slamming them straight into the ground with probably no popup at all
623+P - Air Smash
    - Jumps into the air and grabs his opponent (like catching a ball, only fiercer) and sends them back to the ground
214+K - Quick Spin
    - Could most likely use his back dash animation, but in reverse. Spins while moving forward, obviously a football technique
63214,6+P - Catapult Smash
    - Dives to tackle his opponent, then grabs them and throws them across the screen

Standing Animation - Same basic idea
Crouching Animation - Stance taken at the line of scrimmage, with one hand on the ground
Forward Dash - Running animation
Back Dash - Spin usually done to avoid tackles and such, but backwards

This guy looks pretty sweet
since he's a football player his special should be like a speer type move like he dives at em or sumthin

-I think Quick Spin should do no damage but advance past high fireballs.
-I'd suggest making Standing Smash and Catapult Smash unblockable grapples. Catapult has range and dodges low projectiles but the grab won't activate until he lands from the leap. The run for Standing Smash should be after the grab actually connects and while holding the opponent (sort of like Rugal)

I think we're almost on the same page with this character.

The idea for the Quick Spin was to be that sort of move, where he just advances. Kind of like Zangief's Lariat only it doesn't hit. Banishing Fist style or something.

They were meant to be command throws, hence the HD Remix inspired motion for Catapult. I was thinking more along the lines of having Standing Smash run towards the opponent, like Zangief's Bear Grab.

I'm worried that a built in run would make Standing Smash broken and figured that Catapult Smash would serve the purpose of giving a ranged grab. At the same time, a running tackle type move would fit him. Perhaps the normal version should be blockable and the EX should be a grab.

BTW, do command grabs follow Street Fighter's combo rules or KOF's combo rules?

You can combo them in KOF, correct?

Maybe the usage for the moves could be made distinct, Catapult would be a low sliding type move mixed with a grab, and Standing would have a full body hitbox. I personally would see Catapult being more "broken" if one were to be.

I'm redesigning his appearance, I've got a concept sketch I did and I'm working on his stance right now. Its based on the current one, but with some changes. I've given him long hair too, so that it can be animated in his attacks.

He's still a lot bigger than the other characters, but I've made him a little smaller than the current sprite. The current sprite is just way too big. He's scarier looking too. I'll have it up when I can.
