Ricky Davis is great on the 12' jumper. I know he gets a lot of press for his supposed bad attitude, but while he was here I liked him better than Pierce. Ricky never took a play off, he always looked to me like he was playing defense, and unlike PP, he didn't sit on the floor and cry about a non-call while everyone else was running down the court. Obviously, he didn't get along with Rivers. -------------------- mike b is right! -- mel hall, Oct. 20, 2008

I liked him too. I'm not a huge Pierce guy.

Yeah Mel, it's always entertaining to hear the Cooz annunciate a word like periphery. I'm sure this Heinsohn show should be interesting. When he played, he had a deadly hook shot. I've heard him many times bemoan the fact that so few guys practice it. Kareem made a living out of it, that's for sure. I remember when the top fifty all-time players were announced and Tommy wasn't amongst that elite group. I'm pretty sure Bob Ryan wrote that he should have been on it. |

Heinsohn is the Celtics' version of Pesky. He may not be the best player ever, but he was a damned good player and has served the organzation faithfully in every capacity possible.
The hook shot is a fairly simple shot to learn and to get good at. Not sure why more players don't use it. -------------------- Cliff: That's enough Normie, I'm waiting for an apology.
Norm: Great I'll drop it in the mail, that way I know you'll never get it. Mike B is right! |
