So will this be the week that the Pats stop playing passive defense all the time? That and I hope they worked on some kind of plan to defeat the pressure defense they have now seen from the Jets, Ravens and Steelers. Time will tell I guess.
Looks like the Cubs and Sox are going after the same guys as manager. Will they be chasing the same players as well? I hope that the Sox are aggressively looking for pitching. Like 3 new starters, the last thing I wish to see is Wake out there again. I am also not sold on Carlos Beltran even short term. I think they need a right handed fourth outfielder and someone with some power off the bench who can play third, first or DH. It seems that the Big Papi era may be over. He and Youk are the last vestiges of 2004 left with Wake and Varitek gone. A clean slate at Yawkey way.

Mel's newest 5/16/12 - I'd kibosh Pierce for the 2 games in Philly and hope the week off helps him for Game 5.

Slomo - Dec 19 2011 - I would say absolutely but you know they are going to win their last two games to mess with you.

As if watching the lowlights from the Super Bowl 4 years ago were not painful enough!!
The Good
The defense played well enough to win.
The bad
The defense made two huge mistakes that cost them the game.
Brady missing open guys and forcing the ball.
The Ugly
Special teams failures, Edelman and a missed 27 yard field goal.
Running Game?

Not sure what is the problem with Brady. Rather unlike him to miss open guys and force the ball to people. Right now he looks like he is not comfortable and that is not good.
The defense was not the problem this week. They played pretty well. It would be nice to see Chung go after the ball and not wait for it, which is the second time he jumped to catch what he thought was a ball to him only to have it plucked by a receiver.
It is petty to bitch about penalties but I am not sure why Sergio Brown was flagged. He turned and played the ball and the receiver went through him. I saw the same play in the Steelers game and the Jets game with no call. No consistency.
We can crow all they want about Eli but elite QB’s do not wing it up off their back foot and hope like he does.
Next up are the Jets and I certainly hope Brady rights the ship this week.
What exactly happened to the Colts defense? Your QB goes down and you lay down and keep laying down. Some are saying this proved Peyton is better and more valuable than Brady because the Pats won 11 without Brady. Really it just proves that if you have a good team and a great coach you can overcome the loss of your star player for a year. Unlike Indy which has not played well at all and had no competent backup.
Horrible story out of Penn State and those administrators should do time, no question at all. It is also time for Paterno to go. What he knew or did not know does not matter. That stench needs to be expunged from the program and the University pronto.

Did you see him flinch like Tony Eason a couple times in the first half? The thought of taking a big hit was in his head. Till he woke up and had a great 2nd half

Both interference calls were legit

That was cute when Matt Light tried to tussle with Osi.. Did he think a little push would make up for getting abused in the Supe a few yrs ago? Know your place, Matthew..

Don't think just because no one works here anymore you can get away with this comment.

I demand a retraction

Sorry Mel but the same thing happened to the Pats at the goal line, no looking back slap the ball and no penalty. it id frustrating and foolish.
Eli is playing well and has been fortunate, the two seem to go together. like the Victor Cruz touchdown a few weeks ago thrown into double coverage.
Eli best season will be an average Brady season...

RIP Smokin Joe Frazier. Ali was a boxer Joe was a fighter....
