Hey! Well I thought about doing this for a little while, and I saw an awesome movie last night so I thought I should get my arse in gear and do it. I've noticed quite a few movie buffs hanging around here, and I find myself going to the video shop every week and having no idea what to get out. I was thinking, those of you who have seen recently or know of a really good film, come in here, tell a bit a about it, and maby find other people who know of it or something. I also thought it might be good for people looking for good movies to see, you can come here and maby see something you might like.
this may be a stoooooooopid idea, but i guess there's only one way to find out. I'll start off shall I? Name: Empire Records Genre: Comedy Starring: Liv Tyler, Anthony Lapaglia, Renee Zelwegger (sp) What it's about: Basically, a group of people who work at an indie record store called Empire Records. It showes one day of their lives when Lucas, a strange employee takes $9000 of his boss Joe's money to Atlantic City and blows it all. They then find out that they have one day to raise the money again, or they're going to lose the store, and all of them will lose their jobs. It's also got a lot of plots-to-the-side, involving unrequited love (as always) suicide, drug addiction, pressure from your parents to be successful, confusion about your future and depression. It's got a brilliant soundtrack (GWAR!!!) and it's very funny, with a very satisfying ending. Go check it out, some outstanding performances, especially by Tyler and Zelwegger. ok, there's my first one, please join in if you're interested -------------------- ![]() banner by the lovely ImperfectTears and the equally lovely Firestar When my life is over and my time has run out. My friends and my loved ones, I’ll leave them no doubt. But, one thing’s gone for certain, when it comes my time I’ll leave this old world with a satisfied mind. |

Ooh, great idea Riko...
Name: The Recruit Genre: Action, Espionage. Starring: Colin Farrell, Bridget Moynahan, Al Pacino. What's it About: James Clayton (Farrell) is discovered by a CIA Recruiter (Pacino) at a computer convention one day. His expert hacking/programming skills and unique attitude are what catches the Recruiter's eye. He tracks James and convinces him to undergo the CIA recruitment program. James is taken to 'the Farm', a training camp that only a small handful of career trainees make it through. There he meets and becomes infatuated with Layla (Moynahan), a fellow career trainee. Things begin to turn askew when James finds himself the center of an intricate web of deceit. Lies and illusions are in every direction and the viewer can never be sure what to believe. An extremely exciting movie with brilliant performances by all three of the major cast. Hmm, now I really feel like watching 'The Recruit' again... - Jessity -------------------- ![]() ... Mel's AWESOME fic! [Until the Big Purple Wall.] |
