Troy, my Pyrenean Mountain Dog, has not been eating very well lately and has lost some weight. So we had a blood test done on Wednesday and stopped the Previcox he was on. Today, I got the results back and Troy's liver values are slightly elevated (but not enough to really worry about), but his kidney values are elevated too. So I have to bring in a urine sample tomorrow to do further testing. sad.gif

I love my puppy, even though she really isn't a puppy anymore, and my mother oft compares her to a bathroom rug.

I forgot to update this. Troy's urine test came back absolutely clear, so no problems with the kidneys after all. However, he will need another test for the liver in a couple of weeks just to make sure that all is stable there and not getting worse.

I am having a bit of a job at the moment though to get him to eat properly and it looks like he needs to go back to the vet next week if he doesn't improve drastically this week. He is feeling fine in himself I think (I have no indication that he doesn't), but he is just not eating properly.

Well I'm glad the kidneys are well. Good luck with him eating, and the liver results. We'll keep you in our thoughts.

Troy was back at the vets today for another blood test. He is still not eating enough and has lost a lot of weight. So we are investigating further now.
