if any of you out their in the uk are experienced with birds of prey or you have what is required to keep them then i may be the person for you..

my friend Andy Meads runs Safewings wildlife sanctuary,

he is constantly inundated with birds of prey that can not be sent back to the wild or peoples birds that have been removed from them for neglect or they couldnt have the time to keep them,

their is no charge for the birds themselves
however their is a charge for the microchipping that all the birds have when they go in their for rehoming, this charge is a straght forward charge of 25 pound no matter what the bird is,

the birds will come with correct paper work if it is needed for the species so at to prevent the likes of any trouble with companies such as the rspca etc....

andy and jaqui do release a lot of birds back into the wild but unfortunately like the tawny owl he recently recieved they will never be allowed to release them due to injury..

andy picked up a tawny owl which had been ripped apart by a group of people and their dogs and it wasnt given much chance of survival, however despite the odds andy has nursed the tawny owl and he is recovering , however he will never be able to fly properly due to wing damage and when fully recovered will require a new forever home, he will do well in a home or aviary environment smile.gif

good luck to andy and jaqui and if any of you feel you would like to take a task like this on then please give andy a call, he is more than willing to answer questions and help you with care guides ..

sometimes it is hard to find people willing to take on these birds and so i thought i would add him on to here as he is a good friend of mine and also an asset to our website ..
he works in conjunction with many rescue bird centers and if you google him you will see some of the work he has done

here is the story of just 1 of those birds
