Star Wars: A New Kind of Dark

Chapter 1: The Conception of Shadows

Twelve hundred standard years have passed since the inception of the Grand Galactic Republic.
The Galaxy appears to be in an age or prosperity.
Peace no longer appears to be just a dream, but a reality that is being lived.

Warring planets have come together in harmony.
Warriors of conflicts, spanning millenia, have dropped their weapons
The Galaxy seams to have been paved in gold.
But is this just a gilded age? Is this too good to be true?

But there is something, on the fringe of our Utopia.
I can see ripples in the Force, but I cannot feel them.
I fear we are about to be consumed by this mysterious shadow.
Brace yourselves, for peace is a lie.

-From the journal of missing Jedi Vereor Caliga

His eyes were fixed on the multiple vid-screens in front of him. The cruise ship he was on was about to dock at the station. Three years had passed since he left this forsaken planet after the war. He felt useless after he left, worthless and lost would be better to say. He put his armor on and threw his cloak about him. He sighed as he looked back at his quarters on the ship and then left the room. In his mind he realized he may not be wanted here, but he has no where else to go. "I wonder if word of my actions have reached the Masters?" he said lowly to himself. After he left he lived on Tattooine for a while and worked as a mercenary for hire. He assisted local mining corporations in dealing with the 'sand people' as he refereed to them. He also worked with local game hunters and managed to slay a large if not troublesome lizard of some-sort. He looked at the sky as he walked off the ship. Same dull look but it had a different feel to it than it had when he left. He sighed as he walked down the platform and looked about.

He noticed the local vendors and the cantina. "A familiar place..." he said with a smile on his face. He made sure his cloak was covering his face as he entered. Even though he was a mercenary who did work for local companies didn't mean he had a soft heart. The War shaped most of his life as an Ex-Jedi. He thought for a brief moment of his Saber as he entered the cantina. A double-bladed with a silver crystal implanted in it that made it glisten like the moons them-self. He took his seat and ordered a drink after the thought and listened to the local band of Biffs playing in the cantina.

Crystal stepped into the Cantina and looked around. She had noticed the lone man sipping a drink and listening to the Biffs playing. She knew who he was for she had been tracking him for several days. Her eyes lingered on him as if he were the only man in the Cantina worth her time. She tightened her hood as she walked to the bar only a mere few seats from him and ordered a drink. It had been many years since she was in his presence during the war. She wondered if he would remember her and how he would act if he knew what she had become since he had left.
