Star Wars: A New Kind of Dark

Chapter 1: The Conception of Shadows

Twelve hundred standard years have passed since the inception of the Grand Galactic Republic.
The Galaxy appears to be in an age or prosperity.
Peace no longer appears to be just a dream, but a reality that is being lived.

Warring planets have come together in harmony.
Warriors of conflicts, spanning millenia, have dropped their weapons
The Galaxy seams to have been paved in gold.
But is this just a gilded age? Is this too good to be true?

But there is something, on the fringe of our Utopia.
I can see ripples in the Force, but I cannot feel them.
I fear we are about to be consumed by this mysterious shadow.
Brace yourselves, for peace is a lie.

History: As a young boy, Han Solo was a beggar on the streets or Corellia, his home planet. He was an orphan and had no where to go. But he met Garris Shrike, the captain of Trader's Luck. At first he was mistrusting, but he gave in and the promise of a better life. But he soon discovered that he had been mislead. The Trader's Luck was pretty much a slave ship. Han, along with the other children who were on the ship, were forced to pickpocket and scam unsuspecting people. Han would have tried to escape, but Shrike was not only cruel, but abusive. And he wasn't an easy man to fool. While aboard the Luck he met a wookiee by the name of Dewlanna who became almost like a mother to him.

When he was nineteen years old, Solo finally thought it out and escaped Trader's Luck, managing to get out on a droid controlled ship named Ylesian Dream, almost dying of oxygen deprivation. He responded to an ad looking for good pilots on Ylesia. On Ylesia is where he met his first love, Bria Tharen. After discovering what Ylesia really was, the two escaped, taking a ton of loot from the Ylesian High Priest on their way off of the planet. After she disappeared, though, he enlisted in the Imperial Navy, almost murdered on the night of the initiation.

He first met Chewbacca when a slave ship of arrived, but they had found out that an adult wookiee had released the children who were meant to be sold. Han was ordered to skin the wookiee, but instead helped him escape. He soon lost his lieutenant's commission and was stripped of all awards he had received, except for the Coreillia Bloodstripe which wasn't given to him by the Imperial Navy. The wookiee that he refused to skin swore a life-debt to Solo and he was determined to stay with the Corellian. At first Han, wanted to creature to go away, wanting to do nothing but drink. But eventually, the hairy monster grew on him and they became best friends.

Han became a loner and a smuggler, only remaining constant friends with Chewbacca. He worked for Jabba the Hutt, doing runs all over. Why not? It wasn't like he had a family to worry about. But one day in Tatooine a kid, an old man, and two droids walked into the bar. They needed a lift to Alderaan. The only reason he accepted was he owed a ton of money to Jabba for dropping his cargo, causing Jabba to put a bounty on Han's head. He was pretty much thrown into a rescue mission where he met his future wife, Princess Leia. The two bickered nonstop and, both being extremely stubborn, Han more than Leia, were always arguing, it seemed. He claimed up until Hoth that he was just in it for the money. But he ended up falling madly in love with the Princess that he loathed so much.

He ended up getting married to her and having three children, the twins Jacen and Jaina, and their youngest son, Anakin, named for Luke and Leia's father, Anakin Skywalker. Kidnapped was attempted many times, but the Solo family pulled through each time.

Roleplay Sample:Playing Dr. James Wilson on a House site.
QUOTE

Wilson had left the hospital at a decent hour the previous night, making it home, well, to the hotel, at about eleven o'clock. He had been exhausted, so he had turned on one of the telenovelas he taped from time to time, to learn Spanish, and not for anything more... Except that he kind of enjoyed the intense story line and scandals that went on... but that was a secret he planned on keeping to himself. When House had seen his TiVo list, he had to think of something on the spot. And learning Spanish sounded like a good idea at the time. Now it seems kind of weak, but he couldn't just change his story. He was sticking to it. He was kind of upset when House deleted the episodes he had taped. For about two weeks he was completely lost as to why Guadalupe was gone. He had found out that Guadalupe had been killed off in one of the episodes that had been deleted. Thanks God for being able to watch TV online. But he really had to search for those.

He had fallen asleep about midnight, the earliest he had fallen asleep in quite a while. He had been somewhat sleep deprived for a while now. Things were starting to get to him, though he knew that he shouldn't let them. He should just ignore them like he always did. But too many things were getting to him now. Things like dying patients, especially little Gabby who didn't deserve to be damned with an illness such as cancer, and his ex-wives. Bonnie had called him, telling him that she had met another man and was moving to Maine with him. He had told her congratulations and that he was happy for her. But honestly? He was kind of jealous that she was happy again, while he was stuck wallowing in his own misery, something he didn't do quite often. He had weaned himself off of the anti-depressants, deciding that he could deal with the depression on his own. But with the way things were going, he was thinking about taking a few more every once in a while. But he was putting on a brave face. He was good at hiding his emotions and putting on a fake smile. The only person who could see through him, most of the time, was House.

He woke up, quite excited that it was his day off. He would be able to sit and relax for a while, not really having anything special to do. He loved days like that. It was around seven when he awoke. It was about average for him to wake up early, even on his day off. He had an internal clock that he wished he could sometimes shut off. But it never failed to wake him at ungodly hours. He got up and got dressed in a pair of jeans and a gray sweatshirt. It was nice not to have to dress up like he did for work. Well, he really didn't have to dress up for work, but he thought it was professional to, and thought it made him look more respectable when he dressed up. He went to find his cell phone to see if anyone had called when he realized that he had left it sitting on his desk at the hospital. Well, looks like he was going in anyways. Oh well. I'll just grab it, check up on a few people, and then leave, he thought to himself. He grabbed his keys and made his way down the familiar route that lead to Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

He got out of his car, heading towards his office. He ran a hand through his hair, not really caring that he looked a bit sloppy, especially compared to how he normally looked when entering the hospital. He waved to a few people on the way up, greeting them with a simple 'hello,' or something similar. He took his keys out of his pocket, knowing that he had locked the door to his office, when he was outside his office. He was surprised when he opened the door and saw someone laying down on the couch that he had in his office. He smiled softly when he realized that it was Isabelle sleeping under his lab coat. He decided not to wake her and just let her sleep. She probably needed it. She was up with her sister all the time. He just went to grab his phone off of the desk, the lights still off in the office. When he went to pull his arm back, though, he knocked over a metal pencil holder. It made a loud Clunk! as it hit the ground. Luckily it wasn't glass and there wasn't anything in it yet. He looked over at Izzy to see if it had waken her up, picking the object off the floor and placing it on his desk as he did so.

Hmmm. It's good, and I think you can do it. But this dude is a big responsibility. Because this is such a big canon, we will warn you if things get too far off tracks. You picked quite a responsibility, but you appear to full capable of handling it.

Approved.
