WOAHHHH Q&A
THIS IS WHERE ALL THE QUESTIONS THAT RELATE TO THE UNDERSTANDING
OF THE SITE AND/OR PLOT WILL BE POSTED ALONG WITH THEIR ANSWERS. QUESTION! what the hell is this place?
ANSWER! HELL! DUH!? kidding, it's So Sinister! A circus based RPG with dark intentions. (;
QUESTION! so the ringmaster is a wizard, or what?
ANSWER! no one knows what he is -- he might be some weird part of the devil, but we do know that he as some inexplicable powers. more than likely he's sold his own soul to the devil in trade for some abilities. or he could be the actual devil.
QUESTION! what does he do to people?
ANSWER! apparently he connives people into signing away their souls. this just means that they are under his power and are stuck working at this hellish circus until he says so. it also means that you cannot tell anyone who doesn't know what the ringmaster can do / does (basically, outsiders can't know, and if they ask, circus members are magicked into saying something wonderful about the ringmaster or something).
QUESTION! this ringmaster taking souls deal, has he already taken everyone's, or is it something he's planning?
ANSWER! as your character signs on with the circus, your character signs an employment contract (as you typically sign an employment contract when you get hired) that basically states that: you now 'belong' to remorini and his circus and cannot leave without his say-so, you cannot talk about the circus in a negative way to anyone outside of the circus, and then all the other usual employee agreements (health care, etc.)
QUESTION! what's signing the ringmaster's contract like?
ANSWER! basically you sign in blood -- you prick your finger and use the blood drawn from it as ink. what? we DID say this place was sinister!
QUESTION! does everyone who signs the contract have some sort of magical ability?
ANSWER! no, when you join the circus you are just a normal person looking to join the circus for whatever reason (you could be a runaway, etc.) when your character signs the contract, remorini will change or not change your character. (the exhibitionist's are all changed, while the booth workers and ride wranglers are just employed until they die and aren't disfigured.)
QUESTION! my character is a normal, non-magical person, can they however get an ability later on?
ANSWER! this is negotiable -- along the way we may announce openings for "promotion", as in we may announce new canons and this could possibly be an opportunity for regular circus members to become exhibitionists. if you have a plan for your character, run it by kina or i (jlyn) and we'll discuss it with you.
QUESTION! i wanna play a canon but i don't like the face claim, can i change it?
ANWER! well, we put a face to the canon for a reason (to make it easier for you, the player, and because this is the person the admins had in mind and we want it to also assist you in better imagining what the canon should be like..), so we'd really much prefer it if you just used who we assigned. HOWEVER, if you have a reeeally good reason for not using that face, PM one of us and we'll discuss it over with you.
QUESTION! what happens if my character tries to leave the circus?
ANSWER! at first there is a sort of primary warning -- a voice pulling you back (most likely the Sirens, the ringmaster's lovely and evil assistants), and mesmerizing you into staying. however, if your character manages to get past that, and actually leaves, then the ringmaster will take a more "physical" approach and send his Firebreathers after your ass. this consists of hunting you down and not stopping until they haul you back to the circus. the second option isn't so lovely, and the ringmaster doesn't care if they bring you back dead or alive.
