SOUND & VISION there were obviously no instant messengers
way back when, but there were phones and regular old
fashion mail and notes and shit, so you can have
that here.

HAND OF MERCY the ultra sterile hospital has quickly become the jewel of chicago. people, we might call them hypochondriacs, come from far and wide to get checked out by some of the top doctors and physicians in the field. the hospital has really had to step up its game since the outbreak, and they've done a very nice job of it all things considered. it's generally crowded, but due to a very hospitable staff, it keeps up the pace. if you come in threatening the plague, beware that you'll be shoved into quarantine though.

CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT lately they haven't been 'detaining' as many warm bodies as they should be, considering the fact that mostly they just make sure they kill all the braineaters they come across, half their job escorting the disgusting things to the giant incinerator on the outskirts of town. but it still functions like any other police department. interrogation rooms and then like. most of the cops around today are moderately hardened, almost like mercenaries. and they are certainly not thrilled with 'the wild bunch' and they aren't so interested in police brutality charges, i'll tell you that. don't steal!

BELMONT HARBOR a lovely area around lake michigan, it's a nice place to park your boat. not that many people own boats. but i mean waterfront property is nice. there's a few nice shops and eateries around here, and you know... zombies are dead weight, so if you need are caught unarmed, it's best to jump right in. i hear the water's fine!

DOWNTOWN a bunch of windy dilapidated streets with boarded up buildings. but behind some of those boards are very useful places. like the bank. or a bar. or a grocery store. and then there are the terrifying dark alleyways where some guy that used to be you milk man can come and bite you in the ass. or worse, you could get mugged! aren't old fashioned muggings so quaint?

THE WINCHESTER a conspicuously large pub. there's actually three floors. upstairs is where it seems that the owner has a lot of guests held up. half of 'em look like hookers. then there's all that shifty bullshit that goes on in the basement. yeah it's probably the wild bunch's headquarters. do the cops know about it? well it's not like it isn't obvious, but they don't really operate out of it. nothing illegal seems to be going down in there. believe me, cops have tried to infiltrate it more than once, but it seems like the winchester is merely a place where they all go to wait til the heat dies down. i know me with the shifty references.

VANGUARD a very popular jazz club owned by miss julia darrow. at one point was a speakeasy, but after the amendment to prohibition, it adjusted quite easily to a very open smoky jazz club. it still likes to get up to illegal activities, prostitution ring operating where the speakeasy was once hidden in the basement, along with a full casino. it got away with that at one point, and it still seems to do a good job of it. not too easy to get into the basement, however the jazz club is open to just about any living thing.

CITY LIMITS if you're in need of some travel, well i wouldn't suggest it. the roads are knee deep in the undead, but anywhere that's not mentioned above can be rped out in this forum.
