Tonight I went to the Janice Foligno Foundation night for the fight on breast cancer. It was pretty amazing how supportive the wolves organization was this evening.
All of the wolves and refs were wearing pink jerseys that would later be sold in a silent auction with all proceeds going to the foundation. They made a big of tribute to hockey moms, and everything that was sold "pink" including scarfs (very reasonable 10$), sweaters, foam hands and 50/50 (which collected 6800$+) went to the foundation as well. Also, those who made donations off at least 100$ would receive a stick signed by the team. It was good times, hanging out with the Howler, and snap a quick pic with Nick Foligno (sitting three rows above us) during the intermissions. All in all it was a great night! Even if the wolves lost 8-3. They were up 2-0 and let in 7 unanswered goals! Loverock and Valiquette both got light up. Jared Staal got two points, Marcus Foligno got third star with an assist and a momemtum fight. This post has been edited by GMGates on Feb 13 2010, 12:16 PM |

haha... "Hey Nick do you know montreal91 from SCFHL?!" Although if I said "Hey Nick, I'm in a fantasy league with that guy from sudbury that plays hockey with you during the summer, btw he traded you in a deal involving Ryan Miller" I've met and talked to Mike Foligno a couple of times at my gf's family events. But Nick or Marcus aren't usually around for those.... You know MTL, one of these days, we COULD go watch a sudbury wolves game and discuss a blockbuster deal haha.... |
