You can't emergency recall a guy to be on your bench, it can only be to your active roster. Then it would defeat the purpose of waivers, if a team could just recall anyone on to their bench and then put them in their active roster over a less productive player.

Yeah you can switch which goalie is your starter and backup whenever you want if both are starters.
