We are finally open for others to join! Granted, we're low on members so if you manage to just take a peek in here, please let others know that we are now open and ready to start rping with you! Don't hesitate to ask for help in the C-box or PM an Administrator (ANY of us will do, I promise) with any concerns you may have.
--REVIVAL's Been Revived!-- I know that we've had a LONG hiatus, but it looks like things are picking back up again! I put up a new layout and hope to liven things back up again around here. So let's do our best everyone!
Penance, Revival's sister site, is almost completed and will be having its grand opening pretty soon! Be patient with us and excuse the lack of activity on my end every once in a while because of my preparing for the opening of the site. Also, next month we will be having our first activity check in a long time. No threads need be active, but so long as you, the account holder, checks in, that's fine.
From now on, our banners are on a randomizer so we will have various different images on the site that will pop up. Some old, some new. If you have a banner you wish to have added to the rotation, post it in the banner thread in the OOC section of the board. In addition to this, I WILL be putting up an announcement about the switch from Liquid Time to Semi-Liquid Time in the next week or so.

Revival: An Overview
The Setting
Revival RPG takes place in Toronto, Ontario Canada and the time is during the not-so-distant future (ie, between the years 2005~2010). The time is not exactly set in stone (yet) and because this RPG is set in Liquid Time, that means that your characters can be in more than one thread at a time on the board and doing various things at different times of the day. This may or may not be subject to change later once the time/seasonal schedule has been organized as thus.
Also, though the main story takes place in Canada (namely the City of Toronto), that doesn't mean that we're excluding countries and cities outside of Toronto. Your characters are, therefore, not just limited to being stuck in the city of Toronto. If they have business to take care of in a different country (ie, Asia, the U.S., etc) then a board has been created to do just that. Many people are flying in and out of the city to take care of business involving gang/mob related affairs or to simply take a vacation into the country or outside of. There are limitations, but we like to stretch them here since the RPG is relaxed for right now.
The Plot
Revival is an RPG that has the Mafia and Gang intricately woven into the story of the site. We are still ironing out the details of what is exactly going to happen, but since things are currently in Liquid Time, it makes it easier for certain characters to have certain things happening to them and once these things happen, we will be setting an actual month-to-month time line and season update for the site as a whole. Thus, it will be Semi-Liquid time in the sense of it having actual seasons, but you are still allowed to post in more than one spot with the same character...but be cautious of what time of the year it is when you post.
As of right now, the main plot is that The Clairvoyants, the Mafia of Canada, has unquestionable authority and none have dared to challenge them. All who have ended up dying, but that still doesn't stop new gangs/organizations from trying to knock them down. Even the police are making a higher effort to send in Undercover Agents to infiltrate The Clairvoyants and discover what their main agenda is and what all sorts of activities they are really getting into.
We encourage members (new and old) to have their characters creating gangs, joining the mafia, or becoming agents themselves simply because when the time comes for the actual Mob to start taking control in an obvious fashion to where it affects the general public, then a show down is bound to ensue. But again, we are waiting for the right time and for certain characters to have certain things happen to them. Also, the lack of a deep and all-member affecting plot is because we want to give the members a chance to play their characters casually versus being thrown into the midst of a crazy fray where they don't know as to whom or what they should believe and entrust their faith to.
Character Types
ALL the characters on this board are ORIGINAL characters. The only difference is that we DO have a Celebrity Claim section where you can choose to model your character off of some famous celebrity (ie, model, singer, writer, actor/actress, designer, etc.) Just check out the Celebrity Claim and see which characters have been taken and which are in reserve. Exceptions will be made for the reserved characters if the people who have reserved them don't plan on making the character for a while and a person already has the profile made to be modeled off of said person. Canons are accepted, but not stressed here.
