This is a tutorial on how to create a cool animated matrix effect. If you like this tutorial, please help by joining this forum.

I created the tutorial. Please do not copy without crediting RPHaven.
This tutorial has been submitted to www.pixel2life.com .

To create the Matrix Effect(Basic):

Note- You can play with your settings at any step and you will get a different appearance each time.

1. Create new project. I used 400x150 for this project, I find that if you plan on animating the matrix effect it looks better smaller.

2. Press "D" to reset your colors, then select: Filter > Texture > Grain.
Change your settings to: Intensity- 100, Contrast- 75-100, Grain Type: Vertical

(Posted Image)

3. Now select: Filter > Artistic > Neon Glow
Change your settings to: Glow Size- 5, Glow Brightness- 15, Glow Color: Green

(Posted Image)

4. Finally, select: Filter > Stylize > Glowing Edges.
Change settings to: Edge Width- 1, Edge Brightness- 8, Smoothness- 1

Now your done, you can either leave it like this or animate it.

To animate(Intermidiate):

1. Duplicate the layer twice- Title them Background, Layer 1 and Layer 2

2. Jump to ImageReady

3. While in the first animation frame, selct the move tool and move Layer 1 (the top layer) all the way to the top of the frame. Out of sight.

4. Now add a second animation frame.

5. Highlite the second frame. Now using the move tool, move Layer 1 back to its original location.

6. In the same animation frame. Using the move tool, you now move Layer 2 (the middle layer) to the bottom of the fram, out of sight.

7. Make sure you keep all the Matrix code lines lined up as you move the two layers.

8. Set your timing to 0.1 if you want the code to move slower, you can also use "No Delay" if you want the code to move faster. Play with the timing settings to see what you like

9. Then select Tween, and add 5 frames.

10. Delete frame #7

Your animation is now done

Your Matrix Effect should look different each time. I created the animated Matrix effect previously, so it is different then the non-animated effect I created for this tutorial.

Nice, can you make a 40x40 (animated would be good, though I think it'll be hard for so small size) gif file so I can submit this to www.pixel2life.com ?

It was difficult :wacko: , I ended up making it at 100x100 then shrunk it down after I did the animation.
