Zack Fair

Bright and optimisic, Zack is often described as 'the perfect hero' ...or so describes wikipedia.
At the age of 14, Zack enters SOLDIER as a military candidate, later to be ranked 1st Class along with Sephiroth, Genesis and Angeal. However, for roleplay purposes i have modified this. Instead, Zack joins SOLDIER at the age of 16, having been recruited for his abilities in battle and potential for becoming the next Sephiroth. He ranks immeditately at 2nd Class- the roleplay beginning with his induction in the Shin-Ra building.

In Crisis Core, Zack begins by weilding a standard Iron Sword, as he does in the roleplay. He later inherits the Buster Sword from Angeal, though unless someone joins as him, i will altar this at a later date. He is currently equipped with an Iron Bangle that holds two orbs of green materia- Restore Level One and Fire Level One, though again, this is liable to change as he is initated into the Ranks of SOLDIER.

Zack was born in the town of Gongaga, where he lived with his mother. As there is no background of his father just yet, in this roleplay, he was killed by the Shin-Ra over the mako reactor in the region. Zack doesn't know this, thinking that he was killed preventing the terroists from attacking the village.
He begins in the roleplay wearing a fitted white tee and a pair of black combat trousers. He has a silver necklace in the image of a wolf, and there is a black sweatband on his right arm. Later he changes into the more traditional SOLDIER uniform. He has bright blue eyes, even before he has been exposed to mako. This is because of the pollution caused by the reactor in his home town, though again, he does not know this.

Later modifications of Zack's character see a few changes to his personaility as well as his occupational settings. Recruited along with the 5th Class SOLDIER squad, Zack seems to be a little more complex than his care-free and optimisic nature encourages you to believe.

Following the incident that occured late one night in the Sector 5 Slums, it becomes apparent that Zack may not be of the same material as Sephiroth after all. Unable to kill in cold blood, he broods for a while over the death of a specimen of the G project (though, of course, its true nature is unknown to the group at the time). However, we are able to assume that Zack is able to force out these bad experiences, or at least conceal them within his own memory, as a child-like excitment replaces any feelings of regret, on return to the dormatories. Here we see more of Zack's physical structure as he spends time behaving as any teenager should- relaxing on a sofa, enjoying the thumping sound of Rand's rock music and parading his fit, musclar form without fearing exposure in front of those he regards as friends.

We also begin to learn a little about Zack's interests, as he begins to discuss materia and fusion with Siara, later in the roleplay. It is clear from his understanding of experience and fusion, that he is aware of the true make-up of materia, though whether he realises that mako is produced from the lifestream is still unclear. It is important to note, at this point that any referance to materia fusion, whilst the concept is taken directly from the game: Crisis Core, the proceedure has bee modified for purpose of the roleplay.

Previously in the story, it states that Zack equips himself with Blizzard Materia, given to him by Siara during their break on day one. Later, he uses Materia Fusion and turns it into something else. I would like to make an emend to this section.

Instead of causing paralysis to the enemy, Zack creates Dark Blizzara, a spell that causes medium Ice damage to one opponent, but also inflicts the status effects poision, silence and darkness if the foe is susceptable to them.

After creating the Materia, Zack gives Siara the raw material that is left from the fusion. In the story, it says that the material used is undiluted potion. Whilst this isn't true to the game, for the purpose of this roleplay, the material will stay the same. It is also to be noted that as undiluted potion is not a real item, that it is simply a more powerful version of a Mega-Potion, though it can inflict the curse status on whoever drinks it. Maybe it will come in use later in the roleplay?

Once Zack, Rand and Siara have recieved their first mission, Zack will obtain both the Fira and Thundara spells. An update regarding these new materia and the Buster Sword will follow shortly.
