Calling all Blood Bowl fans!

This is an early announcement for the North American Team Championships being held in Las Vegas next year.

Most of the info is not solidified yet, however we wanted to get the word out as early as possible.

Tentative Dates: 3rd or 4th weekend in April 2013

Tentative Cost: $500-600 per team, this will include hotel and lunches, entry, goodies, etc.

Tentative Goodies: Each coach will get a goody bag. This will include custom dice, counters, and/or dugouts. Also, as a centerpiece there will be a limited edition commemorative figure, or set of figures (maybe even a full team) depending on amount of teams that preregister.

Start saving as we would like to get as many teams as possible!

More details to follow soon, so stay tuned.

Wanted to post about the tight gametime. I am a pretty experienced coach but some games have bookkeeping and such.

"Each round will be 2 hours and 15 minutes in duration."

If it is possible, have the admin group look into adding a minute to in-between round times for setups after TD's and to resolve Kickoffs and turning players over from stun/taking their turns.
Total time minimum for a game without this is 4min/turn X 16turns X2players = 128minutes or 2 hours and 8 minutes.

This would add the same amount you're planning but without the chess clock possibly killing someone's brain for stress! wink.gif
(It should be noted that I love the chess clock as I play in a hardcore league that has all sorts of ACHTUNG rules for ending one's turn quickly! Cheers!)

Most tournaments allow 2 hours to 2:15 per match and don't have a problem. With your formula consider how many turns actually take 4 minutes. I would say if all 16 of your turns take 4 minutes you are playing too slow.

I have played over 350 tournament games and have never had a game cut short because of time. And none of those tournaments had longer then 2:15 rounds.

Just wanted to mention that the clock will only be added to games that are in danger of not finishing, it won't start on any games.

I would love to go, but all depends on prices. Think it might be too much for me.

As many of you that want to go can go but Wes is right, it's all about the prices. Would need to start checking flights for next year NOW to get the best deal. I'll put my guy on it and yes I do have a travel guy - an old friend who for some reason actually enjoys booking travel...
