Hey gang - I just rejoined Steam after a almost 3 year absence after picking up a new computer.

Sadly, I was unable to recover my previous account, but feel free to add me or throw your name out here for me to add you. I am always up for game recommendations, but to be perfectly honest, I am leaning more towards a couple casual games just to dink around on to get back into it. The computer I got is not a powerhouse so I will be avoiding the gigantic games.

You should be able to get your previous account back if you contact Valve... it's probably worth it too because of any games already tied to that account.

You definitely have to get The Binding of Isaac. It was included in a Humble Bundle a month or so ago, and you should probably check those out from time to time to get tons of indie games at great prices.

My previous account has some complications . . . namely an ex who the account it technically tied to so it is hers. She isn't giving it back, I already asked

John let us know what games you find, esp. if there is multiplayer. I recommend revisiting TF2 if you haven't already, it is a completely different game. Just.... don't get addicted to the hats or anything. Let me know if you start to develop a problem and I'll help you out.

We could get a little team fortress going that'd be fun.

I'd consider getting bumped around by you guys. I think I've put all of a hour into TF2, ever...

Oh and anyone here on the Steams should feel free to friend me up there as well as on XBL. Recently you'd have a better chance catching me on Steam.

Game-wise, Revenge of the Titans is a pretty good tower defense game, (but $9.99 may be a bit steep) that should run on a lot of systems. Atom Zombie Smasher is another pretty good choice and it has a demo. Solar 2 is a great chill game. Terraria is pretty popular as well. Space Pirates vs Zombies is a pretty good Action, Strategy, RPG space game.

So there are a few general suggestions. The best thing to do with Steam is to wait it out for the daily deals and big sales. You can get so many great games for a fraction of the regular cost.

How much of a non-powerhouse computer are we talking?

A little more substantial game would be Titan Quest Gold, which is a Diablo-esque action RPG. It seems to go on sale a lot and runs on my laptop.

whoa, sorry folks, I will be getting to Steam . . . I had a much busier weekend than I anticipated and pretty much never was in front of the computer for more than 5 minutes. So my apologies for not adding any of you yet

It's fine... I have a library full of Steam games, plus 35 games I bought on sale sitting in my Steam inventory waiting to be unpacked- and I'm in front of my computer all the time. I haven't had a chance to even open Steam other than sending you an invite, no time to play.

85% off of Killing Floor. I picked up the bundle... I heard it would be fun to play.

So I meant to mention that it won't let me add friends (but I can accept them) until I purchase a game. I will be buying a couple here shortly when I see a sale I like.

Or you could get a free game maybe ?
