This will be a light week for me, as most of the stuff I have showing up is MMA matches or concerts. I do still have Barton Fink (1991) to watch, and might get to that tomorrow night.

Also, I think this weekend I will be watching both District 9 and Inglorious Basterds (depending on how full the matinees are), which are two movies I have been looking forward to for awhile now.

Coming up soon I want to see "9" which is an animated film based off a short animated film that I really enjoyed a lot. Here is the trailer for the upcoming release:

If you are a fan of animated shorts, I also suggest you check out some of the following:

I watched "The Internationalist" last night w/ Clive Owen. It was actually a decent watch, not an action flick, but more of a good plot movie, and better than his last film of "Shoot'em Up".
I'm going this weekend w/ a friend to see Inglorious Bastards. tongue.gif

See, and I really, really liked Shoot 'Em Up. I love the over the top stupid action and quirks of the movies. Where else are you gonna see a movie where a guy fires a guy with a carrot?!?!? It was more tongue in cheek than a lesbo orgy!

I know they are supposed to be watched together, but most of the people I know who did that said they got burned out a bit into Death Proof by doing this marathon, just to give you a heads up. I watched them at different times and loved nearly every minute.

They watch the DVD versions back to back? Different from the theatrical versions. The DVD versions are longer, stand-alone movies with missing scenes, etc. Neither movie needed to be longer IMO. The version streaming from Netflix is just called "Grindhouse" and has the fake trailers between the movies like it played in the theater.

A movie I actually bought after seeing it. 100 people killed in 100 minutes I believe. Two with a carrot.

I know two of them went and saw it in the theatre at night. I was just throwing out a friendly warning. I honestly think I enjoyed Kill Bill more because they decided to split the movie . . . would that have worked for me on Braveheart? Hell NO! But I thought it worked well for Grindhouse and Kill Bill.

Personally I hated Kill Bill , and was just ok on Grindhouse. I think I've gotten tired of Tarantino and Rodriguez because when I watch there old movies I enjoy them mostly for the performances and not so much for the writing or directing. The only exception to that is Desperado. That said I really want to see "Bastards" because it looks good, and the reviews are decent saying there are down parts but still a movie you should see because the good outweighs the bad.

I skipped over Barton Fink again because I just wanted to watch something dumb while sorting some papers, so I popped in Black Sheep (2006) . . . about 20 minutes in I stopped working on the papers and just watched the whole damn thing, eyes glued to the set! This movie was way better than it should have been, and that is no joke. It is a movie about man eating sheep, were-sheep, mad scientists and a small village . . . for christs sakes this movie should have been horrible!

But it seemed like everyone involved in the movie "gets" that they are making a stupid monster horror movie, and just run with it! It was campy but they didn't overdo it so it was just bad for the sake of being bad. I would compare it to Slither or Tremors, although I think the repeat value of watching those two movies will be much higher than this.

4/5 stars!

I loved this crappy movie! I have to leave now, I have sorting some papers to get to before bed time wink.gif

How was that?

As for District 9 . . . I did not enjoy it nearly as much as I thought I would. My thinking was putting it closer to Hotel Rwanda and not so much Terminator Salvation. There was some parts and elements of the movie I really, really liked (the look fo the film, the way the main human character was very much out for himself most of the time, the way the aliens and human coinhabiated, the scenes where the agents were raiding the aliens houses, the racial tension between humans and prawn) and then some that just were not for me. Not one I will be picking up on DVD, which bums me out a little bit. 3/5

Anyone else having problems with 360 streaming . I know there was a problem a few days ago so they gave out a 3% discount on your monthly invoice , but I was having problems tonight whenever I got a HD stream the vocals dropped and only had the music. Also I've started watching Heroes season 2 and plan on going through that and 3 so that I can accurately decide if I am done with this show or not. Have Big Man Japan but haven't watched it yet. Also watched a Frank Caliendo stand up, and a documentary about Apple called "Welcome to Macintosh" or something like that.

I was having trouble, but nothing like that. Just long load times getting into Netflix itself and then only having my queue and "Party" available once I got there.

Recently started re-watching The Last Dragon the other night. I actually owned it on VHS ten years ago (dear god!) but one of my "friends" "borrowed" it. laugh.gif Wow, I forgot that watching that movie is like mainlining 80's pop culture. I'm pretty sure if you watch The Last Dragon, Thrashin' and Rad all in a row, you can actually travel through time. To 1986. And there's no way back. Sorry.
