Reports around the Web are pouring in from Xbox 360 users who have had their entire gaming history wiped from existence. People are complaining on the official Xbox forums, and I also received a note from an old friend of mine in England who has suffered the same error.

"Earlier I was playing Mass Effect 3 on Xbox and decide to eat something," reports Louie Falls. "I came back, turned on Xbox and loaded up Mass Effect. I then got a message saying that my Gamertag has been used on a different console and that my game will start from the last time I played on this console. Then I realised that when I got an achievement, my whole gamerscore was reduced to 0. It's happenend to about 50% of the people on my list."

Although Mass Effect 3 has been named in conjunction with a lot of errors, it doesn't seem to be exclusive. Louie says that his friends have also been affected while playing Dawn of War, Halo Reach and Lost Odyssey. He has also called Microsoft's support line, and was informed that Microsoft is aware of the issue, and working on a fix.

Very weird issue indeed, and hopefully Microsoft can tell us what, exactly, went wrong. If you care about your game history, you might want to keep off Xbox Live until this is sorted out.

Yikes. Saw some other folks on other forums have already had the joy of the experience. Fair warning to everyone. blink.gif

I already had lost a good chunk of gamerscore about 2 years ago and while it initially bothered me, I got over it very quickly. But to hear about a widespread problem . . . that is not good. I know a lot of people love their 'cheevos

How is that even a message on Xbox Live? I always see "The 8bucks50 was last signed in on another console" pop up when I'm switching between Xboxes, but that is an Xbox notification and has nothing to do in relation to any game I'm playing. I'm curious what this message really says and whether it was an Xbox notification or something that popped up in Mass Effect.

Just curious, because I see half of that message all the time and would like to keep my game history... for posterity's sake.

Good god no.

I've been getting a couple weird messages that pop up, only during Mass Effect 3. It will tell me the game needs to default to the original gamertag that signed in. Which, when I'm on one of my 360's, is my wife's gamertag. Although it doesn't ever switch over, it stays with my gamertag.

I also get that signed in to another console alert all the time but that's never caused any problems.

Not THAT sounds a little scary... maybe you should avoid that Xbox until the problem is fully explained/fixxed. It just sounds too weird and is perfect for EA or Microsoft to easily f up.

UPDATE: Microsoft has issued a statement on this morning's shenanigans, and claims everything should be fixed in a few hours.

"We are aware that some Xbox LIVE members are having problems with their Gamerscores. Affected users should log out and back in to restore their scores. While this should fix the issue, updated Gamerscores may not be reflected on Xbox.com for a couple of hours. We’re working on this and expect it to be fully resolved soon.”

As for achievements earned during the glitched period, Microsoft told me the company is working to have everything restored "shortly."

I too lost my score, but that is nothing compared to following the advice of recovering my profile, only to find all the EN3 RAIDER saves are corrupted. Saves for my back- up offline profile are ok, not heard anyone else with the issue.

5 Years of saves gone

Mass Effects, Fallouts, Elder Scrolls, Forza's, all gone these ones are irreplaceable. Makes me want to stamp on the damn machine.

That sounds freaking terrible! Hopefully that is something that will be addressed and fixed because that's a pretty damn big deal. Good luck, man.
