Game looks great, I played around on it for a little bit, now I'm thinking I should download The Witcher for PC (£10 / $ 12) as I have no idea whats going on and what people are babbling about, not too worried though as I did not plan on playing this at the moment, I just managed to get a signed copy for cheap (£31 / $45) so I think I may play the first some time soon and jump back into it with a bit more understanding of the story and lore.

For all the praise heaped on this game so far I remain unimpressed. Not that it's actively bad but it has some pretty bad technical issues. One of my biggest pet peeves is screen tearing. The Witcher 2 has it in spades. Not to mention muddy textures.

All that stuff aside, the voice work is certainly impressive. The story beats are good but I feel like it assumes that I know more than I do when it comes to dialogue choices. Which is only slightly annoying.

Can't wait for a new Xbox. Then the ports will feel more like a latteral move.

Im with you there, all the talk of "Best Looking Xbox360 Game", really? dont get me wrong its a good looking game, but nowhere as detailed as games like Assassins Creed or even Skyrim, I would say more of a high res Fable or something akin to Enslaved. I can forgive the screen tearing though but my disappointment has been the camera which tends to have a fit along with the very lose movement scheme. I also found that "Deep", translates more to a unnecessary design system for such things as Inventory and Crafting menus. Not sure what to make of it after playing for a few hours now.

I was pretty fired up over this game and recently talked myself out of picking it up right away. But I plan to play it. I'm just waiting on the 3-month price drop.

I only got to spend enough time with it to get through the tutorial but it seems really clunky control wise. Hopefully I'll get use to it, but as of now I'm kind of a mess trying to do anything it it. sad.gif

I didn't want to pile drive this game but all the talk of control over the character is ####ing spot on. Also, En3raider nailed it when he spoke of the
"deep" portion of the game. Duder, you are preachin' to the choir.

I only picked this up based on podcast and metacritic hype. Joke's on me... lolz?

I really thought it was just me with feelings of negativity towards this game, every man and his dog seemed to be going out of their way to praise it.

You really need to master combat for it to not feel so clunky... at least, if I can impart any relevant experience from playing Witcher 1 that is what I would suggest. Stunning bad dudes (magic or whatever) is important in just about every battle, as is using potions, salves, oils and such.

Sounds like it's still retained its PC jank-ass qualities.

I'm excited to get into it sometime, but I still want to finish the first game.

Boobs.

I still have Skyrim and Kingdoms of Amalur to finish but hopefully I'll get to this one over the summer.
