Cool! I think I'll get the PS3 version and have my bf get the 360 one so we can compare. I'm just hoping the game is a lot better than the first one which sucked imo.

Well, I signed up for Capcom Unity with no problem but once I got to the Lost Planet site it was out for the day. Said to check back later : (

I was kind of disappointed...the demo looked great but unfortunately it only comes with 2 non-team mode types and while you see you earn xp after a match it doesn't save to your stats so I assume they have the leveling feature turned off.
Another thing I didn't like is everyone who setup hosting matches all were going with the default setups. This made you have to sit in a match lobby 5+ min till it finally filled up with 16 people. Went a lot faster when I setup smaller player limits
I'd like to give this demo another chance but I'll probably hold out till more friends or some of you guys have it and want to give private matches a go.

What did you think of the first Demo they released last year?

Now that the VS Lost Planet2 Demo is available for every Gold member, did anyone else give this a try yet?

Anyone buying/renting this Tuesday when it comes out?
Mojo - May 7, 2010 03:47 PM (GMT)
I'll be giving it a rent next week. Was planning to buy it but was kind of let down with the MP though. Still excited to play through the campaign solo or co-op.

GamesRadar gives Lost Planet2
a 7 out of 10.Basically; Great action experience, almost zero story (but who cares when there's mechs!). Fantastic set pieces and frighteningly huge boss fights. Also, don't expect to play it solo because the game doesn't scale.
That said, I'm definitely down for a rental. We need
2 more people 1 more person for our team now.

I have to say after playing through the game I'm really enjoying it more than I thought I would. The multiplayer though is a bit unbalanced as it seems anyone of any level can be matched up with you and I've noticed a lot of the higher level peeps use the Invinciblity II ability and start off with some way over powered guns. I usually stick to the Data Port matches as I now know where they all are on all the maps and some of them I can definitely defend pretty well solo.
The campaign though is where the fun is at. True to Capcom form even Easy mode can be difficult and tedious at times. The worm boss fight is a good example and I highly recommend not doing that one solo...its beatable no probs but its the most tedious boss fight where you spend more time doing other stuff than actually fighting the boss. My bigest gripe with the campaign is that you can only play co-op on levels you've beat up to the mission you are actually on. Vandic sent me a few invites but I couldn't join because he was one or two mission ahead of me. I really wish it was Halo style where you can play any level a friend invites you into then you can just go back and beat what levels you still need. Other than that the game is fun 4 player co-op style and the game is actually much easier with 4 as the AI partners suck and don't help with any objectives other than clearing out a room.
Lots of customization options on your character that will take forever to unlock all abilities, gear, weapons, emotes etc. I guess that's their point...they've tried to add replay value by way of achievements and various collectables. There is a 6-month anniversary achievement if you can believe that.
Overall I thought the game was worthy of trading in some games for over the weekend so if anyone wants some help on co-op just give a holler.
