Title: Thanksgiving 2009

So, what is everybody doing for their Turkey Day weekend this year? Who is going out to get the deals? Who is visiting family they strongly dis-like? Who will be avoiding all that by playing way too much Borderlands?

Me personally, I just have some plans for a small family get together, and then I plan on keeping mostly to myself this weekend and getting a bunch of stuff done and watching some movies, reading some comics.

Hooray!

I'll take the bait. I'm doing a small family thing at home, which is nice because traveling with two kids is awesome. I think I'll be doing the standard Football+Turkey=Sleep, but I might mix it up by going with more of a (Football+Turkey)/(Video Games + Left Overs) > Sleep. I also have Friday off, so hopefully that will be mostly video games but I do know we are going "crazy shopping", but more in the 6a range so it sholdn't be too bad.

But mainly: Turkey and Relaxing.

Family feast on Thursday. My birthday falls on Friday so I'm sure Erin and I will be doing something of some sort. My main focus is to put a big dent in Assassin's Creed 2 and Lego Indy 2. 4 day weekend yo! B) :SI:

Since I moved back to CA I'll be going to the enormous family events that happen out here every year. Other than that my brothers will be in town so I'll probably hang out with them a bit, and their wives and them like playing Rock Band at my house so that should be good. I hope to play games with all the free time but my step-mom already printed out an itinerary for all the family events that my wife and I have to go to! It's a shame I'm the lone gamer in the family.

I get a ham from work so maybe I'll eat that sum'bitch.

I have to work wednesday night and friday night so there will be a lot of sleep this year. Plus I am not cooking this year which is nice so I can just randomly fall asleep.

Tonight the wife and I might begin with seeing some friends for drinks. Thursday is dinner with the fam in town followed by the annual Turkey Bowl held by friends at a local bowling alley. It will be an early night for me since the comic shop I work at is having a BLACKEST FRIDAY sale so 5:30 a.m. wake up time is my joy. Hopefully I will be done working by 1:00 p.m. which will be followed by sleep methinks. Then I work my regular shift at the comic shop on Saturday. So the long weekend is broken up with bits of work, but I like pimping comics so it's not like the day job, which is not as stimulating. I pretty much do all the Xmas shopping online, I avoid the craziness as much as possible. I don't care what kinda deals your selling, you can stuff it up your turkey hole. Hopefully I'll get to play all that Borderlands goodness and make some headway in Assassin's Creed Twosa.
