Some of you that listened to our last ep - a mammoth coverage of CHGBBXI complete with color commentary, fake commercials, typically outstanding audio production and sound effects from our producer Craig and all sorts of general weirdness - may have also noticed a commercial for some vague ape team.

Well, I can't hold the info back any longer! 3DB, Zlurpcast and Impact are teaming up to bring you the APES of WRATH, an all-ape fantasy football team of brand new miniatures! Brian "Other Guy' Mitchell and I (Chance 'Other Other Guy" Kirchhof) came up with the poses and positionals, I drew the sketches, some friends of mine put together a short film and Impact has taken the whole enchilada to Kickstarter!

As with the recent awesomeness known as the Scotlings, we will all get a chance (heh) to pledge our support to our primate cousins after the Kickstarter launches. If we raise enough cash, the team (a dream of mine and Brian's for pretty much ever) will become REALITY!!!

We finished just a bit over $5200! So we get our APES, I get my Tattoo and we get a SIXTH APE - a Gibbon (Lesser Ape) - because we hit our stretch goal of $5200!

THANK YOU to everyone who pledged, who commented, who even looked at the APES OF WRATH project! I am thrilled these guys are getting made! I have been working up sketches of both gorillas, with/without new arms, with/without bigger FF-type shoulder pads, and short pants!

Is it any wonder why we love Tom, Chris and Impact so much? They did so much for this project that no one knows about just to help Bryan and me get a team made that we've dreamed about for years. They did not have to do one single thing for this but chose to take time out of their busy schedules, give priceless advice, run the Kickstarter and THEN offer to pay out of their own pockets for extra gorilla arms, pads and shorts just because some ape fans wished the gorillas were more like that. I don't have the words, gentlemen. Talk about embodying the Christmas spirit of GIVING.

Once I get the new sets of gorilla sketches (don't worry, same poses, just with the extra details), I'll work up a new Gibbon. Once that is sent away and Patrick Keith has all he needs to turn my C+ sketches into A+ sculpts, I will begin my APE TATTOO! Have no fear, I am a man of my word. :)

Yes, there will be pics to verify. NO, it will not be on my butt. :)

Patrick Keith has begun the sculpts! Also, Tom posted an update to the Kickstarter page with all the sketches side-by-side for scale comparison. We hope to begin actual metal casting in May!

All Ape sculpts are done! Pics are up at the Kickstarter site, TFF.org and the Impact forums! The finished sculpts are on their way to Impact right now and then they will begin the metal molding process!

Did you see the giant 40mm Gorilla that will serve as the teams Troll/Ogre?

My mailbox was crawling with apes yesterday when I arrived home.

They look very nice - for some reason, I'm drawn to the thrower.

I don't know what team they will be used for. Something tells me I should have tried to buy more chimps. I have the 8 gorilla models, four chimps, two gibbons, two throwers and the silverback... I really like the pads (I know not everyone does) so I may have to build a team where I color the pads/bases differently for the gorillas.

I have no idea when I'll get started on them, but they look great.

Thanks Loaf! I got my first set glued together, just need to add the pads to the Blockers. I LOVE that they are optional, as are the pants, because I wanted the Blitzers naked as the day they were born while the Blockers get pads to hit people with. Only the smaller apes wear pants. :)

Still hoping to get these first sic painted before GenCon next week, will prime today and get into the basic fur colors of grey, black, orange and tan...

Impact has added them to their site! They are on the left bar under Siringit - Apes!

Also, I have been contacted by a 3DB fan in New Zealand about them playing the Apes with an experimental roster in their league! We will definitely have to have him on in a few months to see how it's going!

wow, this is awesome! I can barely get these guys pinned, let alone painted half as well.

My mom visited over the weekend and brought the apes she bought. I'll paint her a set (one of each ape) and she said just keep the extra.

So I cleaned and left out to dry all my gorilla Blitzers (and arms) last night. Just the blitzers. Between what Impact generously sent me and my moms extras, I have 13 blitzers.

Just blitzers. :)

At this point, I'm going to be able to make multiple ape teams, including an entire team of just naked gorillas! :)

So THIS is what heaven must be like!
