Title: Bloodbowl Championships

I'm not sure how many of you actually play/have the Bloodbowl Legendary Edition for PC, but I thought I would share some of my recent experiences on there. I had become very turned off to the game after playing in many of the "public" leagues. Like most games, some players out there set out to ruin the game for others and began to "farm" teams. What do I mean by farmed teams? Well, I ran into a 1200 point dwarf team with only 4 skills - all Strength Boost. I also saw a Amazon team with 3 Agility Boost and 2 Strength Boost. After doing some research, it appears in many of the pick-leagues, players would find friends to feed them wins, gold, etc to boost their team. I became very frustrated and basically left the game.

After listening to the last podcast, I thought I would give FUMBBL a try. I apparently am not as computer savvy as I hoped I would be and really count figure it out after an hour and half. I again went to the web and did some reading on private leagues. What I came across is actually another public league but it is ruled more with an iron fist then some of the actually public leagues. The league is called "The Forum Open League" and it appears there are a few others. You must apply to get into this league with a new team and then it's played through Match-Making only.

The reason I was so interested in this league is several teams from this league will be selected to play in the Bloodbowl World Championships. They are doing a reset on rankings on June 1 and it will run for 6 weeks or so after. I have really enjoyed myself playing in this league and with starting a new team in the HGC league I thought I would get some practice games under my belt.

As summer is starting to approach, I'm not sure if a HGC web-league ever got going. If it did I am interested in joining, if it didn't I would like to start one up with at least 10 teams. Following traditional HGC rules we will have some special conditions to play.

No Duplicate Teams
Games will be played every 2 weeks
Restarts/Disconnects would not be allowed and will result in a forfeit
Have some fun!

If people are interested in either and want information please post on here or send me a personal message! Happy Bloodbowling!

I would definitely be interested in a private league. I have had similar experiences as you with the public leagues. I had joined the League of Other Guys(Only 0-16 players and no stat increases) that was run by the Zlurpee guys but that league fizzled out. I really only have time to commit to one online league, but if there is going to be one run by the HGC/3DB crew I would love to join. Keep me updated on where it stands.

Thanks,

Davis

I agree with the OP, unless it's a monitored public league you can get some funcky things happening. A private league I play in now uses BBM. The winner submits the match afterwards and the Comm "processes" it, then gives the team Pts & SPP's back to your team the next day. A great system for keeping those things in check. If you start a league that could be a helpful tool to use.

Due to my time restraints and experiences like Railstin of players abusing the public Cynaide game. I started playing on single player mode (campaign) against the PC.

True the PC is pretty dumb, but i know he can't cheat. He will always play me when i want to, he never backs out. The best part is on the PC, you hit the * key and it fast fowards his turn (it stops to prompts you if needed, like dice rolls against them or side step, etc). I can run a game in about 20-30 min this way. :)

Very true about the AI but no hassles, can definitely understand. One thing Pauly pointed out on a podcast was very true. The AI is great practice for player builds and trying all kinds of things (besides the obvious BB fun aspect). A great tool for TT players as well.

I will begin doing this immediately.
