A S K E D . Q U E S T I O N S What is Provehito In Altum? - Provehito In Altum is an RPG based off of multiple ideas from the Science Fiction genre. It is a game that tells the tale of individuals struggling to survive in a world that has become a shadow of its former self. ECHELON, AEON and Zodius struggle to gain control of the world around them whilst trying to preserve their individual ways of life. Choosing a side is crucial because, in the end, only one organization will stand above the others. What is the setting? -The year is 2588 AD, 581 years after the End of All Days. ECHELON has wiped out most of the planet's other races aside from the former Americans. They control the new cities that provide proper living conditions for their genetically enhanced race, called Ariuns. Outside of these 'cities' there exists another race: the Zodiuns. The rebels of the world, the Zodiuns seek to destroy ECHELON and give the world back. The world itself is desolate. All bodies of water are polluted; the once fertile lands have become nothing but harsh deserts with unbearable climates. The sun and sky is blocked by radiated smog that covers the atmosphere. What is the rating of this Forum? -This is an intermediate Forum, meaning once you join you must post once every two weeks for a regular character (Zodiun, Ariun Civilian) or once a week for an organization member (ECHELON, AEON, Zodius). There is a minimum word count of 300 words, meaning you need to type at least this and a little more every time you post IC. While it is not necessary, posts are easier to read when grammar is correct, punctuation is correct and spelling is correct. How old do I have to be to join? -You need to be sixteen or older but eighteen is more preferable. There will be mature situations, such as sexual, violent and adult, and we don't want your parents to get angry at us for something that you have done. You have been warned. If you are uncomfortable with anything on this Forum, then please, leave whilst you're still ahead. Do I have to have prior role-playing experience? -It's not necessary but as stated before this is an intermediate board. This means that quality, composition, grammar and creativity are a necessity. Please have at least some experience before you join. If you don't have that much I'm sure one of the admins will help you in a learning curve along the way. How do I join? -Simply read rules, read the information about the races, organizations and classifications to get a better understanding of the game and fill out a character sheet. This isn't hard to do but it takes time to make the character because we want three-dimensional players to have three-dimensional characters. After submitting your character on the Registration board, a staff member will either approve or deny it, and move it to the respective board that it falls under. How many characters can I have? -For now we ask for only one upon joining the board. When you get a feel for the game and are able to keep up a steady a posting schedule then you can apply for a second. If you apply for more than one, however, we want active participation from each character. Leaving characters to rot is not very cool to yourself, this board as well as the character. Remember, characters are a part of you when you create them. Do I have to follow the word count minimum? -Yes, you do. This is to keep posts exciting and make it easier for many players to have something to post to. Little information given in a post, I know from personal experience, is hard to reply to. This keeps the threads moving and the events going with a high degree of interest. What I'm absent for a while? -If you're going to be absent, and your characters are going to be left unattended for longer than a few days (depending on the type of character), please PM one of the staff members and we will add your character's name to a list that will be for those on leave. Failure to notify a staff member, either through PM here, email or instant messenger, might result in the loss of your character, which will be archived. Can I quit at any time? -Yes, you may quit at any time if you feel the game isn't of interest anymore or if you simply can't keep up with it. Alert one of the staff members through the proper communication channels and we will take it from there. We will keep your characters on file, so if you decide you want to come back, we'll have them waiting for you. What's the current plotline? -Zodius, the rebel organization, is trying to find the stray ones of their race to bring them to safety. ECHELON, on the other hand, is cracking down on the 'safe houses' that Zodius has hidden throughout the city. Their struggle carries on over into Ariun society, with Zodius hoping that it will disrupt the order. However ECHELON continues to prowl and weed out the genetically inferior anomalies known as Zodiuns. What are the races? -There are two races: the Ariuns and the Zodiuns. The Ariuns are the result of selective genetics and breeding that ECHELON has been testing with for nearly five hundred years. They are seemingly perfect in every way, becoming the ideal image for former humanity and what humans had sought before. The Zodiuns are what's left of the other races that ECHELON had tried to wipe out in the past. They have evolutionary enhancements that came with time and striving to survive in the desert outside of ECHELON's rule. They are the rebels; they are the survivors. The Ariuns are the proverbial sheep of the world. What are the organizations? -There are three: ECHELON, AEON and Zodius. ECHELON is the main power, the central government, the secretive network that cracks down on everything that was once thought to be kept secret. Despite people seeming to have a good life, where it's nothing but privacy and freedom, ECHELON is around every corner, prying into the private lives of its citizens in an attempt to control what they believe could destroy their hard-earned power. AEON is made up of the former elite soldiers of the US Military, now becoming only one body of soldiers. They have the Elite and the General. There is only one General to date, but the Elite are the best fighters when it comes to full on frontal assault and force. ECHELON prefers the assassin type of action; so AEON handles all of the mass dirty work of ECHELON. Zodius is the rebel faction, surviving outside of the cities in their own little bases beneath the desert sands. They are rising in power every day, wishing to disable and destroy ECHELON and AEON with as little casualties as possible. What occupations are there? -Zodiuns and Ariuns do have civilians, which is not so much an occupation as a status of living. But within ECHELON there are two occupations open to special Ariuns: the Agents and the Specialists. The Agents do the field, investigative work, cracking down on Zodius 'safe houses' when they're assigned to and helping terminate those that would stand in ECHELON's way. The Specialists are the network programmers, searching through thousands of files of data every day; intercepting communications and alerting ECHELON to the abnormalities that may appear. They also assist the Agents in finding specific targets. AEON has only one occupation: the Elite. These specially trained soldiers are killing machines, possessing both the necessary skills to kill and kill effectively. Unfortunately because of their training they seem to have no real free will. They are normal, every day citizens just like the Ariuns, but are lacking a certain emotion: consciousness. Zodius is the rebel faction and has two occupations: Leaders and Rebels. The Leaders are the ones in charge of infiltrating the cities quietly and retrieving any stray Zodiuns. They are strong, quick and smart, which is why they will one day be the leaders of the world. The Rebels are Zodius' task force of soldiers; their own small army.
