GOLDEN RULE: The administration is the law. We're here to keep the game fun and entertaining, not to become public enemy number one. If we ask you to do something please do it. That's all we ask.

G E N E R A L . R U L E S

The Staff
The administration always has the floor. If we do something it's usually in the best interests of the board. Keep in mind that we are a rather busy bunch as there are so few of us, but if you have a question or a suggestion you can go ahead and PM it to one of us and we will get to it as soon as possible. The staff also reserves the right to make changes to a profile, application, plots, rules and other lists of such importance within good reason. If something illegal is going on as well as something that we deem suspicious the staff reserves the right to ban or IP ban the person in question and take action against them for anything considered illegal. We don't want to lose our board because of someone that's causing trouble.

Information
Make sure to read all of the rules as well as the FAQ and the plotline. We want you to know what you're getting yourself into by joining the board and whether or not you're capable of handling the character in question. The staff will make announcements periodically with information that you need to know so keep an eye out on the Announcements forum. It's really important to know this stuff.

Respect
This one is an easy one. Don't plagiarize anything from the board. Whether it's lists, information, posts, applications or graphics we don't want it stolen. If we find out you have been stealing we will ban you, both e-mail and your IP address. If you want to have something or want some information from the board just ask one of the administrators. We'll be nice most of the time and oblige but you aren't getting everything. Don't steal from us or we will hunt you down. The staff works hard on this board and we don't want to hear that someone is claiming our stuff as their own. If you are found to have stolen something from another site and using it here we will tell the staff on the board you took it from and we will ban you through e-mail and IP address.

Conduct
Do not troll, spam or flame. Be nice to other members or you will be warned. We do have a warning system which means you get five strikes before you're banned for good. Do not be mean to other members of the board. Just because you're angry at someone does not mean you can take it out on them on the board, either ICly or OOCly. If there is an issue please direct it to the administration for resolution; don't take it upon yourself to solve. Keep all insults away from the board and other players. If you are found to be making any kind of negative slur you will be banned without being subject to the warning system.

Be nice to the other members of the board. We don't like hissy fits and those that try and take matters into their own hands. Don't join or come on to the site just to harass another player because we will ban you. We don't want to do that. Let the staff handle a problem if it gets out of hand. Don't settle it amongst yourselves even if the administration are the ones that made the mistake in the first place. We are the mediators and don't want you to worry about someone else. Also, be nice about everything. If something happened in character that you don't like don't take it up with the player if it's reasonable. If it's not reasonable then come to the administration. Also, keep out of character problems and information out of character; it's no reason to have your character hate another person's if the character wouldn't normally hate them.

Graphics
You are allowed to have an avatar and a signature, but there are guidelines that go along with that. Make sure your avatar is no more or less than 150x150 pixels. We will make temporary avatars and there is a place to request graphics but try not to hassle us too much. We're extremely busy otherwise. Also, on the note of graphics, try to make them look good. Nothing incredibly tacky (because we know that some people don't have great graphics skills) but if you want a good looking set or just a set in general the staff is here to help. In terms of applications it's one 500x250 picture and that is that. Nothing else that's nifty or fancy. If you need help making the image for the application ask a member of the staff. We are usually glad to oblige. For plot pages and other graphics on the board, please don't make them larger than 500 pixels wide and 300 pixels tall. The same goes for signatures; they must be no more than 500 pixels wide and 250 pixels tall. We don't want the skin stretched and we don't want to have to remove it ourselves. Do not, for any reason, use cartoon-like images in you signature or avatar, or even the picture in the application and the plot pages. We can't stress this enough.

Chat Box
Respect the chat box. No spamming, no advertising, no fighting and please keep the language rather clean. No "out there" conversations or anything of the sort. We don't want the site to seem immature because that might dishearten players. Try not to spam the C-Box too much. While there is no message limit we don't want to have to clean up the potty mouths.

R E G I S T R A T I O N && A C C O U N T S

Registering
Please register with your character's First and Last name in correct capitalization. Anything that is registered otherwise will be deleted. This includes adding middle names. Just the first and last name of the character please. If an account does not have a reservation within three days of registering they will be deleted without notice. This will open up the opportunity for other players who want the character to apply. If an application is not finished or posted within seven days of posting a reservation the administration will archive the incomplete application and delete the account without warning. Let the administration know if you need more time so we can give an extension of seven more days if necessary. If you don't post in character after being accepted within seven days the administration will archive the character and delete the account to let others register to play the character. We do require e-mail validation so please make sure it's a correct and accessible e-mail address.

Character Limit
There is a maximum of four characters allowed at any time on this board. This does not include Non-Playable Characters. Please remember that when registering for a new character you must be active with them. Limits on the amount of characters any player can have at any given time is placed so activity remains fruitful. Having a lack of such is negative to the board as a whole. Your first character is required to have 30 posts before you may register for a second, and both the first and second characters must have 30 posts before you may apply for a third. Third and fourth characters are also required to have administration permission before even registering for the account. Keep in mind that any application for a character beyond four requires administrator permission and you must have at least 30 posts with all of your accounts before you may register for a new character. That way you establish a character and prove that you are faithful to activity. Also, this rule pertains to NPCs in that if you want an NPC you must have 30 posts on all accounts and administrator permission. Remember that NPCs are not meant to be played outside of plots and other threads of such importance. If you think you can handle more than four characters you must have administrator permission from all administrators in order to create a new character.

Accumulation
In order to gain more than four characters you must have administration permission; that means the administration will discuss it and the player will be notified of the decision. You may be able to create four characters, but you have to have admin permission for anything above four.

Activity
We do have activity checks which means for two weeks there will be a check that you have to post in or you risk losing your character, no matter how active you are. If you aren't on the list then the application and account is archived. There are more rules to this stated on the activity check so make sure to pay attention to them when the checks go up.

Original Characters
Please check here regarding Original Characters as there are a few things we would like players to keep in mind. On a side note, Original Characters may not be in relation to Canon Characters unless the staff gives the character permission to do so. We do wish to have canons more than originals, however we aren't going to stop you from registering with original characters. Keep in mind the staff will grade the originals more closely as they are completely new to the board. It's recommended to have a plan for your original character so integration into the board will be smooth and easy. We want to get you playing as soon as humanly possible.

Play-Bys
We have a canon list that's preset with canons. If you are creating an original character you may not use a play-by that is on the canon list without prior administrator permission. If we let you know that we want to keep the play-by the same for the canon and are unwilling to change please do not get testy with us; we do it for plot reasons. Make sure your play-by meets the requirements for the race that you've chosen. Ariuns are always required to have solid brown, black or blond hair and any shade of blue eyes. Zodiuns can look any way they please though are very rarely blond and they always have gray eyes. If you need some colorization done to the eyes and perhaps the hair just let a member of the staff know and we can try to get you the play-by you want. Any questions on play-bys can be sent to a member of the staff and we will answer them as soon as possible. Remember that to change a face on the canon list requires administrator permission.

Approval
All characters must be approved before play is permitted. If you do not wait before posting then the character will be deleted without notification as well as the account. Give us a few days as most of us are busy with school or work. We'll get to grading as soon as possible.

Applications
You must have your application posted within seven days of claiming a character on the Canon List. If the application is not then the reservation will be taken off and the character will be up for grabs again. If a profile is not completed within seven days of placing a reservation then the profile will be deleted and the character up for grabs again. Make sure to let an admin know if you need an extension; we're here to help you out and will generally oblige.

Reservations
Character reservations last seven days. Follow the rule above regarding the length of a reservation once a profile has been posted. You must post in the Canon List within three days of registering for the character. If you do not and an application is not posted then the account will be deleted without notice and the character up for grabs again.

Groups
When creating a new character please, try to choose a different group. Don't have all of your characters in the ECHELON Agent group or the ECHELON Specialist group or even the Zodius Rebel group. You can make up to four different characters, such as having an ECHELON Agent, a Zodius Rebel and an Ariun Civilian. Mix it up a little and help us keep statistics even.

I N . C H A R A C T E R . R U L E S

Writing Standard
That's right, we do have a standard. No less than three hundred words must be included in an in character post at any time. We like good spelling and grammar but we're not going to be Grammar Nazi's about it. Just try and avoid so many typos and grammar mistakes in one post. If you do not post with the three hundred word minimum the administration may increase the warning bar under your avatar and warn you via PM as well. So, just keep up with this okay? three hundred is not too hard to reach. We are an intermediate site, after all. Three hundred is not asking too much.

Threading
Do not make a thread with another character unless that player gives authorization to do so. Too many threads will swamp a player and that is a big no no. Try to avoid creating more threads than you can handle; we don't want to let unfinished threads run the board into the ground.

God-Modding
Do not God-mod. Unless a player gives you permission to use their character for small things (i.e. transportation) you will not control them. This means movement, speech, thoughts, reactions, etc. In fighting you will play nice and give them a chance to respond. Do not assume your hits always land and theirs always miss. Play fair. Make sure to ask a player for permission to use their character even in a small way. Doing it through PM is the best way of going about this.

Major In Character Events
You may not kill another character unless the player of that character and the administrators (all of them) give permission to do so. Keep in mind that we do not let pregnancies or other major events occur unless you have administrator permission from all admins. This will prevent anyone in the future that is registering from having to adapt to a major event like that if they don't want to. Remember that Original Characters may do such a thing with other Originals, however anything involving a Canon will need to go through the administration first.

Rating
We are a mature board. This means that there will be violence, language, adult situations and adult content. We don't mind Mature threads, just make sure to put an [M] in the topic title and keep it rather secluded. No posting a Mature thread in a public place or somewhere obscure like that. Don't use language every other word in your post or your character's dialogue. Not everyone speaks in curse words. There is an age limit on the board as well. Not for in character but out of character. No one under the age of sixteen may register on the board or play here considering what Invisionfree's Terms of Service are and what content we have. So if you're under sixteen I'm sorry, you have to leave. In terms of violence; don't make every thread you're in a violent one. You can get descriptive just don't do it so much that it makes someone uncomfortable. We will moderate the threads so don't try and be sly about it. We don't want to scar people for life you know.
