I've read a couple books this month, both can be found at the same page, although the sequel with a bit more effort (I read the sequel first though...)
http://www.johndiesattheend.com/1-1.html (The paperback version can be bought at amazon.com)
and http://www.johndiesattheend/jdate2/intro.html
The first one may also be at pointlesswasteoftime.com, but I'm not sure.
They are a pretty good read overal, if you can get past some slow points.

EDIT: http://web.archive.org/web/20070627033829/...eend.com/a.html This address leads to the original version of the first link/book. It's not edited for publication so there may be some plot holes, inconsistencies and overal nonsense, but it's complete. The first link is updated every two weeks and it's the online version of the paperback.
Though, I'd still suggest the paperback be acquired because it's kinda better to sit on a comfy chair and read it by a fire...in a well-lit room.

EDIT2: I have now successfully finished John Dies At The End and John and Dave and the Temple of X'al'naa'thuthuthu and I must say they were worth every mindless hour I spent on my uncomfortable chair in front of this screen, reading until my eyes could no longer stay focused on the white and black screen. Both are great books and they successfully caught MY attention, a feat that only one other book managed to do (RPs and Warcraft lore don't count).
By the time I had reached the last chapter and the epilogue I found that I couldn't stop reading, it's 4:15 AM when I'm writing this (finished around 4:08 AM) and my TV is off, my desklight shines its yellowish light on my desk and hands, and I'm anxious to see if the third part really does come out to keep reading this weird-ass shtick, not go to sleep and just keep reading this weirdass story.
Go read, now.
