I guess it's more my lilies that are hooked on Jobes tomato spikes. How do I know well the number and size of blooms are dramatically less than if they feed as much as I normally feed them in years past. This year so far I have cut way back on feedings since I was almost out and the local Ace hardware wanted 3.99 per package and carries only one or two packages at that. Two years ago I purchased 20 packages which contain 18 spikes and I was down to my last two packages. I used osmocote when I transplanted and a few spikes for the tomato plants this spring. I know Ace would order them for me but was looking on line for a cheaper alternative with not any success.
Tonight I visited my local Menards which is a 30 minute trip one way for some project items plus poultry fencing in my ongoing battle with the squirrels over my peaches, pears, and tomatoes. Lowes wanted three times the price for the same item. Thought I would check the garden section for Jobes spikes and lo and behold there they were. Renamed and repackaged but the same product, same formula same strength, but cost was only 1.98 ea. Needless to say I purchased all they had 15 packages. They are now called Jobes boizome formula for robust tomatoes and instead of packaged in resealable bags they are now in a flat cardboard package encased in a clear plastic pouch. Not as convenient for the user since once opened the container is useless but probably cheaper for the manufacturer. Now I'm set for this year and next and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg for the spikes. :happyhappy: Anyone interested in some squirrel on a stick! :boom: |

Hey froggy,
Thanks so much for the information on the Jobes fertilizer. I finally got all my lily's fertilized. :happyhappy: Can't wait to see how well they do once the fertilizer starts working. :thku: |

How about deer on a stick! The darn things are eating the buds off my rose bushes when I'm gone. I come home and half the bush has flowers and the other half has been mowed down. Might have to hook up my electric fence :hammering: :yikes: |
