Description: Chicago Flower and Garden Show

My neighbor, David, and I went to the Chicago Flower and Garden Show at Navy Pier in Chicago on Thursday. What a wonderful reprieve from the cold and snow of this winter. There were several nice water features with koi included. Here is a video I did of the show. I hope you can enjoy it nearly as much as we did, though the video can't convey the wonderful perfumes eminating from the flowers.

A nice video to see today.
Your buddy David is a pretty cool dude B) He really enjoyed the flowers and I was surprised to see a guy actually smell one without being pestered by a gal to do so.
I have a white koi in my pond that looks like the white on in your video. They are easy to spot in the pond so they do add some bling. I would LOVE to have one of those orange and black koi that you taped :drooling: . Very nice makings and they remind me of halloween.
Thanks again for sharing

Really enjoyed that video, DP! Flowers have always been my hobby, and when you mix them with ponds, they make a great combination!
I really liked the waterfalls. The designers were very creative with the flow of the water. And the koi were just awesome!
I did notice that the ponds in the video all have gravel bottoms. So many ponders believe this is not a good practice, so I bet the designers just laid gravel for aesthetic purposes.

Yes, the ponds had gravel and for two reasons. First, they are temporary ponds for the show to look pretty and natural and will be dismantled after the show is over. Second, they are displays done by Aquascape, which advocates doing the gravel bottoms. They are also notorious for becoming pea-soup after a year or so and requiring purchase of chemical additives from -- guess who?

Ahhhhhhh, yes! Aquascape "sucked" me in! That's exactly why I have a gravel bottom!

Great video Don, You really got me ready for some warmer weather now. We have our local Home and garden show coming up in a couple of weeks. Those shows will sure get the spirits up
