While I had my camera out, I took some other pics too.

These are the ugliest mushrooms I have ever seen. I put my hand in the pic so you could see the size of the big one.

What interesting flowers you have growing. What is the variegated leafed plant on the left side of picture number two?

Any idea what the variety is those ugly mushrooms ?

I think I see only two deer in the veggie forest!

Thanks, Froggy.

The variegated plant (if you are referring to the gold and burgundy one) is a variety of coleus.

Glad you brought up the mushrooms - in my post, I was supposed to ask you guys and girls what kind they are. I've never seen anything like them, except when a kid vomited in my back yard! :yikes:

Thank goodness I have not had the deer in my backyard this year, or they would have a feast with the garden and plants. I've added height to my chain link fence by using 10 ft. fiberglass posts with rope tied to the top. I call it my "Hill Billy Fence." It doesn't look fancy, but it works! (So far anyway...)

Just beautiful. Your flowers all look so nice.
With the dry weather we have had this year most of my plants (even though I watered) look bad.
We had 23 days of staight 90 or over temps and it just about cooked everything.
I think I need a new green thumb

Again, hating these.

Weird mushrooms. Never seen any like those before.

How many hours do you spend watering all this or do you have drip irrigation?

Thanks for posting. :)

I don't really need to water too much. The containers I water every day, and it takes me about 1/2 hour. Not bad. Everything else I just use a sprinkler if we don't get any rain.

I'm really curious about the mushrooms. I'll have to try Google and see what I can find. I thought maybe DP or Froggy would know...

Froggy, I think you had a premonition: Just got back from a 3 day vacation, and the neighbor told me the deer jumped the "hillbilly fence" and got into the veggie garden. BTW - this is the neighbor that feeds the deer! The deer ate my hanging flowers, peppers, and beans! :swear:

I have no idea what they are and I even had a class in mycology as a graduate student.
