You may see members on the forum who have a picture under their username and images and text underneath each of their posts. These are known as "avatars" and "signatures" respectively.
So you ask: "Hey that's spiffy, how can I get those?" The answer is simple: >Click the My Controls link at the top right hand corner of the page. >On the left side of the new page under Personal Profile, click either Edit Signature or Edit Avatar Settings. Signatures ------------ >If you click the Edit Signature link, you will find yourself in a different section of the User CP. You can insert images, links, text, etc. into your signature. There is no rule on images, but make sure it isn't too big. Also, please don't insert anything that would give anyone an epileptic seizure. :P >To save your changes, simply click the Update My Signature button. ------------ Avatars ------------ >If you click the Edit Avatar Settings link, you will find yourself in a different section of the User CP. >Here you can either Upload an avatar from your computer, use one hosted on an image hosting website, ("link to online avatar image") or use one from the base galleries. >Uploaded avatars must be no more than 25 KB, and no larger than 150x150 pixels. >The only file types allowed for avatar use are: .gif, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, and .bmp ------------ I hope this guide helped you gain a better understanding of how to get your own avatars and signatures. ;) -B01 |
